  1. Infinity from Athens Prices are in GBP £
  2. Cruise£. AI£ Diff£ Inside Guarantee 449 979. 530 Inside Cabin. 590. 1019. 429 Ocean view Guarantee 499. 1028. 529 Ocean view. 619. 1048. 429 Balcony Guarantee 699. 1028. 329 Balcony. 819. 1248 429 Concierge guarantee 799. 1228. 429 Concierge. 819. 1248. 429 Aqua Guarantee. 899. 1478. 579 Aqua class 1069. 1498. 429 Seems that AI upgrade is not a fixed calculation and the folks in Aqua are being overcharged I’ll be checking this more carefully in the future for sure.
  3. I’ve just spent an hour pricing all categories on a cruise for cruise only and all included as I was e-mailing options to a friend. I’d have thought the difference would be the same in all categories but it’s not. I also thought (mistakenly) that a guarantee room on all included would have been the cheapest but again it’s not. Sometimes it’s cheaper on an AI deal to choose your own room. Has anyone else ever come across this and can anyone explain why the AI cost upgrade varies so much?
  4. No the embarkation lunch is OK but not great. Invites to concierge parties not worth much as drinks are even below the basic drinks package. I’m amazed that they still offer the daily snack delivery as shortly after the hallway is full of uneaten trays of dried up something. We didnt get priority embarkation and as we were walk offs didn’t use the disembarkation lounge either If you have captains club Elite status most perks are duplicated so get a few nice bottles of wine and a speciality dinner instead.
  5. No new tier but instead of unlimited drinks from 5-7pm from a small section of the basic drinks package some free drinks vouchers (like RCCL do) would be way better. The Elite drinks list is so limited that it’s of little value to us and gets worse with every cruise.
  6. Wine I bought a few weeks ago at $38 is now $60 A mark up of over 60% I’m sorry Celebrity but there’s no way I’d pay that much for that wine so I’ll pass and have a soda Ive never witnessed such blatant gauging
  7. On Edge recently a glass of Kendal Jackson Chardonnay was $13 + 20% tip. The glass I was served was exactly 120mls (yes I measured it one night with my meds cup) so that’s 6.8 glasses per bottle at $13 = $84 per bottle if bought by the glass The bottle was $43 As Elite we get 20% discount so that was $41 per bottle with tip. They happily stored left overs for next night So Ill be looking at bottle price not glass price on our cruise in 2 weeks
  8. At 6am UK time a cruise on Edge was selling for $574 tips WiFi & drinks included 5 mins letter it was over $1500 to go AI For about 5/10 minutes there were some very good bargains to be had due to updates I guess not done properly Pity were had already booked and paid for our 2 cruises were going on
  9. I’d like to see the 5 drinks vouchers from RCI also on Celebrity rather than the time limited house drinks from 5-7pm A coffee and a cocktail by the pool with 2 glasses of wine at dinner and a nightcap would suit us perfectly
  10. We sailed on P&O last year for 7 nights from Tenerife. It was very pleasant weather not hot (highs of 22/23) . We were outdoors all day and it was such a pleasant break from our bleak dark wet winters here in the UK. We found so much to do and see compared to the Caribbean which I find is like one large island visited “over and over” The beaches and weather are really the only reason to go, but Madeira is amazing in culture and history . The Canary Islands all have their own character and spending a day in each island is not enough. I’m thrilled Celebrity have put Infinity in the Canaries in 2024 and are already showing Infinity there again in 2025 !! It gives Europeans an option to be loyal to Celebrity while not wanting long haul flights …. so thanks Celebrity Looking forward to our cruise
  11. We book on price, itinerary and ship Infinity clearly needs a major update but Celebrity I think are one if not the best at renovating their older ships. Since covid all the cruise lines are having to shave costs where they can and charge a bit extra where they can We all understand that but we’ll go with an open mind ready to relax and enjoy our cruise without constantly finding fault which is too easy to do We consider ourselves lucky to be onboard and we’ll do our very best to just enjoy it
  12. Just came off Azura and while the majority of men were in tuxedos there were people in chinos and shirts in various venues including the theatre. As P and O attract an older crowd the outfits of a large number have possibly been in their wardrobes for many a year ! but still created a sense of occasion. We are going on Britannia this year with our Grandkids and they will be nicely dressed but not in tuxedo’s (my Grandson is 10 and either buying or renting is an utter waste of money in a cost of living crisis) He will have trousers a shirt and a waistcoat but no tie. Guys will wear the suits they already own and the ladies will wear nice dresses we have bought previously for weddings (though not evening gowns) We wont be “oh la la” but equally we won’t totally disrespect the majority who clearly enjoy the OTT opportunity that such an occasion offers.
