  1. Cozumel Plus only meant one extra hour(at least out of New Orleans). The 1/20/18 sailing on the Triumph was in Cozumel overnight(8:00pm-7:00pm). A lady went overboard on 1/21 somewhere north of Cancun. After searching for 12 hours(8:00pm-8:00am), we were allowed to keep going. We were supposed to be in Cozumel at 8:00am on 1/22. Progreso on 1/23 was canceled. We actually docked in Cozumel at 8:30pm at the International Pier instead of Puerta Maya. We were supposed to dock at Puerta Maya, but it was going to be full on 1/23. We were free to get off the ship, but I dont think many people did. A couple port shops were still open. There was no port security in either direction when we got there. The gates were just open. No one checked ship cards to get through the gate and back on the pier. No food sniffing dogs either. Port security arrived in the morning.
  2. Carnival Corporation ships, including Carnival Cruise Line, dock in all three berths at Puerta Maya, not just the one you circled. They will also dock at the International Pier that is next to Puerta Maya in extraordinary circumstances. My source for that is the 1/20/18 sailing on the Triumph. A lady went overboard on 1/21, and we circled the area for 12 hours. That caused us to get into Cozumel about 11hr 30 min late. Progreso the following day was skipped, and Cozumel became an overnight stop. We were originally supposed to dock at Puerta Maya, but Puerta Maya was full the next day. The International Pier was not full the next day. I believe we shared the pier with a Royal Caribbean or Celebrity ship.
  3. I think they renamed it to Mentions. I just went on his page on the mobile website, and the Mentions tab has the same functionality as the Community tab.
  4. Your comment was not constructive. Instead of just telling me that I was wrong, you should have said why I was wrong. You should have given the correct answer instead of just ridiculing me with red font.
  5. If I'm not mistaken, food prices are one of the things that are excluded from inflation calculations because they are too volatile.
  6. Gerry is on the Glory only for the partial Panama Canal cruise. Adult Game Night is scheduled for tomorrow.
  7. Whenever I search, I can't select a rate other than the preselected rate until after I select a cabin type. The preselected rate is usually the cheapest rate that allows cabin selection, assuming I don't select a guarantee cabin.
  8. Lei Lei doesn't. She is on the Glory now.
  9. I don't like him. He was a jerk to me when he was on the fun squad on the Legend in 2017. I wasn't participating in the trivia, but I was listening while waiting for everyone to leave. I pointed out after the game that one of the correct answers was wrong. He refused to acknowledge that the official answer could be wrong, and he was rude in the process. That was also his last cruise on the fun squad.
  10. I was in one of the long balcony cabins(7434) on the Freedom. It is long enough for a lounger in addition to the usual two chairs and a table. It was advertised as having a lounger. It wasn't there when I got there. I asked the steward and he brought a spare lounger down from the pool area.

  12. Until the pandemic, this happened every time for me at early assigned dining, and I was there before the dining room opened or within five minutes of the official start time. Anytime I ordered ice cream, it would be room temperature soup by the time they got around to giving it to me. Since the pandemic, there have been far less showtimes. With the extremely terrible service that started in January 2022 on multiple ships(Freedom 1/15/22, Radiance 8/29/22, Valor 11/28/22, Glory 2/5/23), I decided that I would no longer go to the dining room except for the strawberry soup. I would leave after eating the soup. My next cruise is 11/26/23. Before I had a chance to execute that plan, they changed the menu and removed the strawberry soup. There aren't enough things on the new menu that I am willing to eat that would make it worthwhile to deal with the crappy service.
  13. I have Verizon. I get wifi texts using the Message+ app on the value plan and premium plan. I've never had the social plan. Check the settings on your phone. On Verizon, I have to enable HD Voice in the My Verizon app and turn on wifi calling on my phone's settings. At one point I had to change a setting in the Message+ app on my S7 and S8 as well, but not on my current phone(S21). I only recently figured out how to turn on wifi calling on my previous and current unlocked phones(S8 and S21). Verizon was blocking wifi calling on my unlocked S7 that I purchased directly from Samsung. Wifi texting still worked on my S7. I will attempt wifi calling again on my next cruise.
  14. That is fine. Your printer may be running out of blue or yellow ink/toner.
  15. I had similar issues trying to do mock bookings for October 2023 cruises out of Miami, Port Canaveral, and New Orleans using Chrome on my S21. I had no problems getting past the residency page for November and December 2023. I didn't try any other ports. I later tried using the Samsung browser on my phone, and I was able to get past the residency page on October 2023 cruises from those ports.
  16. That isn't always an option. My PVP is only available M-F 8:00am - 5:00pm. If I don't see a sale until the evening, weekend, or last day, I can't just wait for her to answer, especially if I want a particular cabin. Another example was Black Friday 2019. I booked a 12/1/19 cruise online less than 48 hours out on 11/29/19 after 5:00pm. Someone canceled very last minute, so last minute that the in room papers and tv had their names on on it. I was just looking for price drops on my 12/30/19 cruise. I was able to choose an oceanview that wasn't under the galley for $199 per person($398 since I was solo). Even if I had a PVP at the time, there was no time to call or even think about calling. If I didn't book it immediately, someone else would have snatched it up.
  17. My somewhat uneducated theory is that I am usually in the Teflon group because I wasn't sheltered when I was growing up. My parents didn't bring me to disease parties, but they also didn't stop me from touching surfaces that were likely unsanitized. I was able to do all of the disgusting stuff kids do. My body was possibly able to build immunity because I was exposed to alot of the nasty stuff that didn't have a vaccine while I was younger.
  18. On my second cruise, the oldest couple was at my dining room table, and the youngest couple was almost at our table as well. They got beat out by four hours. Both newlywed couples got married on embarkation day.
  19. I got a cruise director that allowed a still dating couple on stage instead of newlyweds. There was at least one newlywed couple that wanted to participate. I think that cruise was also the one where the audience chose the "newlyweds" instead of the middle couple. The CD also limited the middle couple to 5 - 20 years of marriage. The CD picked the middle couple.
  20. Power hours don't exist anymore. They got rid of them, likely as a pandemic precaution with a hidden motive of cost cutting. There were no power hours on the Valor 11/29/21, Valor 12/23/21, Freedom 1/15/22, Radiance 8/29/22, Valor 11/28/22, and Glory 2/5/23. Skee-Ball is $1.50 per game or $4.50 for four games.
  21. I never get Carnival offers on my Marriott Bonvoy Bold card(no annual fee). The only travel related offers I get are for various Marriott hotel brands and recently Southwest Airlines. I fly American Airlines, and the hotel offers never show up when I am actually staying at the featured brand. I mostly get restaurants, meal kits, cookware, online snacks, ticket sellers, Dell, and other random stuff.
  22. Nothing about my comments indicated that I was in a hurry. I like being on the water, but I don't recite the mantra of just being happy to be on a ship. Cruising isn't my only vacation of choice. I love flying, train travel, bus travel, large city exploration, conventions, and theme parks. I love travel in general, not just cruising. That's what I did when I was still willing to go to the dining room each night. Most appetizers and entrees had onions, peppers, and other things I don't like. I also don't eat any beef other than hamburgers, any pork other than bacon, ribs, boneless thighs cut into chunks, and occasionally a small piece of sliced ham, and any chicken other than fried chicken(wings, legs, and tenders), rotisserie chicken(any part), and my mom's baked gizzards. Most of the time the items I despise are unlisted. Several of the desserts either have alcohol, coffee, meringue, or fruit flavors I don't like. I don't like the melting cake. I can only tolerate one of the cheeses on the cheese plate once. Fruit plates and banana splits get old fast. I decided after my fourth cruise in a row(Freedom 1/22, Radiance 8/22, Glory 11/22, and Glory 2/23) with really crappy service at supper in the dining room, I would only go to the dining room for the strawberry soup and then leave. Before I could do that, they changed the menus and removed the strawberry soup. My next cruise is the 14 day cruise on the Glory in December. My attendance will be entirely dependent on there being something I want to eat without having to think about it. If there is any doubt, I won't go. Service at breakfast, sea day brunch, Seuss breakfast, and tea time are great. Lunch hasn't been an option on any of my cruises since May 2017 on an Alaska cruise. Service at supper was good in June 2002 and from February 2016 through December 2021. My mom and I have just had too many bad experiences to have any enthusiasm about the main dining room for supper.
  23. I hate this. I refuse to go to the dining room now that they are getting rid of the strawberry soup. Since the service has been really crappy since January 2022, I was only going to go for the strawberry soup on the first night and then leave after eating it. Several days on every cruise I have struggled to find something to eat. After not receiving my entree an hour after service started in November 2022, I stopped going to the dining room after the first night. There were only 7 people in my section across four tables at the late seating. The new menus are lackluster for me and my mother.
  24. Key West is the third day. The ship can't make it to Key West before then. It takes the entire embarkation day to make it out of the Mississippi River and then another day to cross the Gulf of Mexico. To answer your question, no. Tax will be charged until the ship leaves the river, usually around midnight, and again in Key West until the ship leaves and is 12(?) nautical miles away from Key West.
