  1. I am facing the same predicament. We are staying in a hotel that is approx 2km from the port. The cheapest online taxi/cab/private transfer etc I could find (and I tried alot) was €89 for 4 people (which was booking.com) I was quoted as much as €294 by some companies (and yes they were the exact trip as the km distance matched my request) . Which in my opinion is taking the piss completely! We will walk it no problem, and wait for the shuttle busses etc. However I would like the option of paying around €20 and an oul tip on top (considering the location), to get us to the pier more efficiently.
  2. Let us know how you get on please. We are boarding the Getaway on 24th June and I would be interested to know, thanks. Enjoy your cruise!
  3. I have been on boat..... aye pun intended 😆 I like the Epic and I like the Escape (to be honest I would be happy in a dingy with the bar open and a bit of craic with other cruisers!) I preferred Spice H2O and Bliss (Escape has a smaller open plan alternative to Bliss) on the Epic. However, the board walk on the Escape was epic..... aye pun intended again 😆 It was a great, walking, viewing, drinking and eating location.
  4. If the weather forecasts are anything to go by, we are in for some hot weather the next few months. Has the price of ice per glass gone up yet?
  5. A simple problem statement by the OP, has become quiet convoluted by various interpretations of CC readers by the looks of it. This reminds me of the famous question: "daddy or chips?"
  6. I am not a fan of wine or champagne, most taste sour to my taste buds, however we all have different tastes and hence a large market for such. I will enquire however on the Moet front that was mentioned, my only positive encounter with champagne was with a 'few' bottles of Moet grand vintage 2001 at the Galway races some years ago. For what it was, it was mighty stuff! Anyway, do NCL ever have a drop of Moet grand vintage on offer?
  7. Aye seems like an NCL/affiliate issue rather than an attack vector on your PI. Taking a step back and in considering 99% of people do not know how passwords are utilized beyond their input, it is safe to say if someone gained access to your passwords via a cracked string match including a bit of salt on it, there is no way they will utilize that access to make a bid for you..... they get no gain from it. Criminals in this space are there to make easy money for themselves, booking additional NCL addons is not in their interest. Just my opinion, but I would encourage you to regularly change your passwords, not a have the same password for all your accounts/logins, and not use a 'password manager'... because they also can be compromised too.
  8. I worked hard, excuse the pun 😆 to get my wife to go on a cruise (she does not like sea/boats/sea) and after successfully acclimatizing her to said holiday/vacation, this nonsense comes to light. My wife has been pushing hard for a land based holiday/vacation for the past year and I feel this carryon with NCL and uncertainty with no alcohol in ports will only cement her wishes...
  9. I quite like the analytical approach (of what information is available) taken by some on this thread outlining what was said from representatives on board, I also like it was also interpreted and dissected by others in what appears (my observation) to be driven by business logic of what people in the industry and this particular sector are paid to do and look after as part of their day to day duties ....port charges, taxes, customs laws, regulations etc.... These 'things' are not a 'peek a boo' business transaction that is a surprise to an established cruise line. Our company has prepped for Brexit for many years.... today, the UK not being part of the EU is not a 'surprise' to anyone in business with regards fees or otherwise etc, unless they have their head buried in the sand on purpose. It does appear that some people on this thread seem to be in a river in Egypt. The Nile 😆
  10. Grey Goose with pineapple juice and ice. I drink barrels of it a cruise 😁
  11. Don't tease me like that 😆 I thought I had read on here that Grey Goose was being transitioned onto the Premium Plus Beverage Package in May? A couple of weeks ago would have put you in the pre transition period. But I would love for you to be correct because the other Vodka offerings I seen in place of it are just a headache in a bottle from my experience.
  12. Anyone know what the additional cost is per shot/measure/pour of Grey Goose for someone on the the Unlimited Open Bar but not on the Premium Plus Beverage Package ?
  13. I just checked the invoice. It was a Category M6 - Mini-Suite with Large Balcony.
  14. I offer my comparison from both through experience. We had the balcony on the Epic (7 Days) and the Club Suite on the Escape (10 Days). The only difference I observed/experienced was the toilet/shower room arrangement was slightly bigger on the escape and in one location. On the Escape (Club suite) The balcony was larger, with two sun loungers and a small table. We received one small complimentary laundry bag (there was 4 of us, you would struggle to get all the under wear into it) We received one small tray of 'treats' (4 finger food items). We received no bottle of sparkling wine (No I did not complain, whats the point, I can just go to the bar and get it!) From my experience I would not purchase a club suite again.
  15. Thank you all for the informative replies, much appreciated. Quick update. I called NCL last night and was put through to a US representative who advised me that they no longer look after European customers and that I should call back during office hours on Sunday. Today I called again and got through to a very nice representative (Millie), I outlined very politely the price difference etc, and Millie had a look and after a while on hold advised that I was only 7 weeks away from my cruise and I was outside of the time frame where she could help (she did initially at the start of the call mention upgrades etc for the price difference). Millie did advise that she was passing my inquiry to another team and they will be in contact with me in the next week to see if they can do anything for me. No wait time on either call, I was connected straight away and both representatives were very nice.
  16. After reading another forum post, it motivated me to try something! For the first time of my cruise 'life' 😆 I just tried to book my cruise again after I had put down the original deposit to to see the price difference. The same cruise (with everything included in each price point), a like for like comparison. That is including the deposit I paid for 4 of us back in 2022. My booking with 50% off is more expensive than the current offer of 35% off with all the same additions etc (there is no difference in the room or package) If I cancel and re book I save money! 🙃 #Please advise
  17. This is a fantastic example of why I love free style dining.. I couldn't be listening/observing to this nonsense day in day out on my vacation. #Avoid at all costs 🍻
  18. We were on the Escape in 2022 at full occupancy. We did not encounter any crowds where we would not expect them. We do not pre book anything and found no issues getting into shows or specialty restaurants. We generally do not take the elevators, on occasion we did, however, I never observed 'crowds' waiting as we passed by them. And most importantly, I never waited more than a minute at a bar waiting to be served 🍻 😁
  19. Hello there, yes I have, and we had a bit of craic with the barman on the Escape last summer, he poured out Titos, Grey Goose and Belvedere neat to see if I could tell the difference. I did. Titos is nice, but I find it has a bit of a cut to it similar to Smirnoff black label.
  20. Warm rain is all we get here, not great for the drying 😁
  21. Yes we tried the Ice bar on the Epic in 2017, Skyy vodka was the choice in frozen water glasses. It was a great set up, it tasted like the vodka had a spice additive to the cocktails to warm you up. We had great fun meeting new people in there! We will definitely do another Ice bar.
  22. Hello there , and there in lies the difficulty of satisfying all of us thirsty feckers eh 😁, we all like something different with some overlap here and there of course! Even if the Goose and Belvedere is gone...... there is only so much beer I can drink before I need to go shorts (vodka) 😆. #SOS
  23. Grey Goose and pineapple juice is my drink or Belvedere if the Goose was absent, (and I have even managed to convert my wife to it also for the past 2 cruises). If you haven't tried it, please give it a try over ice, its very refreshing in the sun & heat. I am not on the plus package so this does indeed dampen my cruise buzz a bit. #1st world problems! I am from Ireland, I do not like whiskey or gin, tried lots.. I do however like vodka, but I have experienced a lot of vodka that is like paint thinners that makes my throat sore (Grey Goose & Belvedere however does not 😁 ) and that new NCL vodka list from the 1st of May might aswell be a whiskey list from what is listed on it 🤣 .
  24. I always find the drink package debate amusing and diverse on the forum, each to their own and everyone will have an opinion and rightly so. I find the NCL drink package excellent value, and so have those from my part of the parish that I have recommended it to also when they enquired about a vacation/holiday/cruise. I can qualify my excellent value statement by inviting you to any Irish family or otherwise event to compare receipts 🍻 😄
