  1. not all baggage gets to the ship leaving it with porters. Have had several times getting fliers delivered to our room with a message "have you seen this baggage", only my opinion, but we prefer to carry on our bags, no problem, no worries about delivery obviously with long cruises and bigger suitcase that will not go through cruise line scanner, not possible. But we pack light and like to have our luggage with us, never a problem dropping off in the room, after boarding, to each their own
  2. did this last year but having a senior moment or two. do they do facial recognition at "passport control" or do you need to show passports to an agent? No problem, just wondering, I think we just walked right through and never stopped anywhere along the line getting outside but that is probably not right?
  3. same experience for us several times in current past. Once you get through the "cattle" lines and security, there will be a Haven sign and most likely a representative directing you.
  4. Yes do above post. If your picture isn't accepted, we have got the message proceed, your photo will be taken at check in. Our first photo seems to go through but the second passengers never does.
  5. I think weather will be the deciding factor for rock climbing and water slides., possibly go karts, though I think they are in a pretty covered area. Get reservations for others and enjoy.
  6. Have sailed on both many years ago. Twice on each. The Sky has some older unique areas, but we sailed on the Sky for short itineraries. the most memorable to Cuba from Miami. Does the Star sill have the Spinnaker Lounge on the front of the Ship? It was the area to hang out, and that's where a lot of afternoon stuff was The Sky was pretty bare bones for inside areas other than eating, if I remember right. Unless you are on a short cruise, I think the Star would be more enjoyable. We had fun for sure on the Sky, but for 4-5 days sailings
  7. The Butler that escorts you from the terminal to the Haven, usually gives a tour of the observation lounge, etc. Really you will have no problem finding your way around.
  8. I just remember that no sandals were allowed for men in Le Bistro. closed shoes only. that was a year ago. Collared shirts were required for men. Polos would be A OK. Have no idea if they are still sticking to dress code. And yes long pants for men. All the other restaurants are pretty casual!
  9. We did the Lumberjack show in Ketchikan a year ago October. I was worried about the time of the Show and back to the Ship. think the show was 1:30pm, sail away 4pm) Asked at the Excursions Desk, said no problem. Still worrisome, we were on first bus leaving from the Ship, when let off told to get on our number bus when leaving Show, I could see no taxis running around. Since there was a huge crowd at the Show, not sure how many were NCL cruisers or another Ship. I insisted we leave the Show early, to get a bus back. There was much talk about have your ticket on you, do not loose, boarding buses will be crowded. urgh. Anyway we left early and got on our bus. I can believe how the passengers could not get a ride back to Ship on time. Obviously two sides to every story, but transportation other the NCL Provided is very limited in Ketchikan, only as I observed??
  10. RE: Pan Pacific and Fairmont hotels, we take only carry on luggage and always keep it with us. Mobile but not wanting to walk a long way. Can you taxi to the Port? or is it a short walk with rolling suitcases? Canada Place sounds like a different cruise terminal than the 10 others we have been through. Just trying to get some idea what it is like there.
  11. Baggage drop off, you pick up where you dropped them off before 4pm. yes to go carts reservations for sure. I am not sure but the main desk will direct you.
  12. ?? If you embarked in Seattle and Vancouver is one of your Ports along the way on your cruise, I don't' understand why you would not be able to get off and back on the Ship, as in any other Port along the way. I would look up a restaurant close by to meet up with friends. Since there ship doesn't leave for a couple days, they may not be allowed access to the terminal?? Sure you can figure this out, without a GPS, good luck maybe I am missing something,
  13. If the stars align, if you disembark in Long Beach and fly out of Long Beach, get off the /ship with carry on only, you have a good chance of making the flight.. FYI if you disembark the Ship earlier than scheduled (San Diego) you may be charged a "penalty fee" not sure what they call it but would check before considering that. Long Bech Airport is so nice and small!!!
  14. Never had a problem with dropping off our carryon luggage in the Haven (which is all we do) in our cabin once aboard, whether in the Haven Proper or once outside a few decks away. Or for that matter, we have traveled with friends when we did not book Haven. We found our cabin, even though the doors to the hallway were closed, quickly dropped off our luggage and left. I know maybe not should have, but there was never a problem. Just saying, worked for us! Crew never said anything but see you soon when room is ready for you. I would not have a problem leaving luggage at concierge desk in the Haven though. Just not my preference.
  15. Sailed on Bliss Feb this year in the Haven. American Diner, the Haven restaurant, one of the Main dining rooms, the 24-hour restaurant on deck 7 I think and the buffet were the choices.
  16. ? about coffee, was there not a Nepresso coffee maker in your haven cabin? or you prefer regular coffee.
  17. NCL does use Southwest. At least 16 months ago. The very worse flights from PDX to LAX and return. Outgoing flight left at 5am. Return flight from LAX 8pm. Just my opinion
  18. We have done multiple cruises disembarking in San Pedro. Never a glitch, lucky us. But a 1045am flight out of Long Beach would make me nervous. If everything goes right, you could be off the Ship around 8am?? personally would not do
  19. The mini fridge on our last at least 6 cruises no longer have fridge stocked with any alcohol. in them. the only alcohol is a bottle of Champagne in the ice cooler stand upon arrival. WE are diamond and yes there are cartons of water, but not in the mini fridge. Anyway I think you could ask pre concierge to not have any complimentary alcoholic bevies delivered to room.
  20. Just my opinion have stayed in Haven on the encore, deck 18, forget which room, but traffic noise was never an issue. Have stayed on Bliss, kind of sister Ship on 17, basically never had a noise issue on either Ship, in the Haven. regardless of location. Balcony size differs. But if we both fit on the balcony, we are happy campers. lol
  21. oops, Executive Car Service
