  1. I've cruised both Celebrity and Royal. They're both owned by the same company, so if you like one, there's a good chance you'll like the other. My very first cruise was on Celebrity's S.S Meridian, and here I am 30 cruises later!
  2. I got mine this month, but it baffles me why you have to re-add your email to the email list several times in order to get the PUP opportunities.
  3. It's hard to tell since the Venezia is still remodeling. Basically, she's a former Costa ship that was built just before the COVID shutdown. She had sailed for 5 months at that point. Recently, Carnival announced that she was signed over to them and was going through some remodeling. She's due to debut in June, however Carnival hadn't said much about what she's offering.
  4. I've done both Royal and Celebrity. If you like one, you'll most likely like the other. They are owned by the same company. Celebrity tends to be slightly higher-end, in terms of food, and tends to appeal to a slightly more subdued crowd. Royal tends to be aimed more towards young adults and families. That said, the number of kids on the ship tends to correlate with school vacations. If you want to have less kids on the ship, avoid going during those times. For example, I'm in NH, our school vacation weeks are the last week of February and April. While I don't know the school vacations of other states, I know that if I cruise during those times, there tends to be more children due to families taking the children on vacation. If I don't want so many children, I usually cruise during an off-time such as September or March.
  5. It's hard to tell. I'm not sure if you're aware of the story about the Venezia, but basically she was finished before the COVID shutdown and was only in service for 5 months. As of Christmas 2022, she's been signed over to Carnival who is currently remodeling the ship, so she is in dry dock and isn't due to sail until June 2023. While you certainly can look at the YouTube videos of her, please keep in mind that most of them are from 2019 and some things may have changed.
  6. I am actually sailing on the Venezia. She is due to start US sailings from Manhattan year-round this June. I'm not sailing on her until April 2024. The last I heard was that Firenze is going to start US I believe Fall of next year (I could be wrong).
  7. I've escalated the issue internally with Google, they're currently investigating.
  8. I escalated your issue to Google, we'll see what they have to say. I have a Kindle, so unfortunately I cannot troubleshoot.
  9. Google Product Expert (volunteer) here, may I ask a few questions? Model: Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, correct? OS: Are you on Android 13? Please update if you're not, that could be part of the issue. Screenshots: do you have one you can post? Different error messages require different troubleshoots. Age: how old is the tablet? Sometimes outdated devices aren't supported. Cache: did you clear it? This will create more memory on the device, making apps run smoother and solve many bugs. Memory: do you have enough on the device? Do you have expandable memory you can install? Apps: are they all updated? Try those troubleshoots and if those don't work, circle back and I can escalate it to the Google Play mods
  10. Also, even though there's 3 adults with her, only one of us carries a phone while on the ship. Whoever is with my niece carries the walkie talkie.
  11. I never said she was. She had an adult with her. But if we wanted to meet up with the others in the party, that was the only way we could communicate. If we ever got separated, she couldn't use the app to let us know.
  12. If you read my previous post, I said 10 year olds are restricted from using the chat feature. You have to be 13.
  13. We just cruised with my 10 year old niece on RC. I wouldn't be too concerned about their pallet being refined enough for the adult menu. My niece shocked us all by ordering Lobster Tails one night off the adult menu....to our knowledge she lives on Mac and Cheese, chicken, pizza, and hamburgers. Imagine our surprise when we found out she not only wanted Lobster Tails but loves them! We also found out she loves shrimp! As far as the kids club, I don't know about Carnival since it's been a long time since my Circle C days. On Royal, pre-teens can sign themselves in and out.
  14. We used walkie talkies on my Royal cruise last month in case one of us got separated. My niece was with us and is only 10 so she's not old enough for the chat feature on the app. They worked great, however, you might have to switch channels from channel 1 or 2 to channel 20 or higher. Many times we picked up radio frequencies from the crew channels.
  15. I guess that won't be a problem for us then, since we're all Red status on Carnival with the exception of my niece (who's never been on a Carnival cruise and is only 10).
  16. I've never had an issue with it, and I've been there 5 times since the rebuild. For security reasons, I do take my cameras and phone with me when I leave for lunch but that's it.
  17. I'm (sort of) in the same boat. I do not drink alcohol (not for medical reasons, this is by choice), but there are some in the cabin who do, and as a result, I had to get the package chosen by them. Since mine includes mocktails, my plan is to capitalize on the mocktails. Virgin Pina Coladas, here I come!
  18. Mine for the last webinar haven't shown up yet. Also, just curious, have they released points opportunities for March yet? I want to be sure I don't miss the email. I'm so close to Elite and I don't want to miss those points over something tiny.
  19. I'm not sure that this makes a difference, as I haven't been on Carnival in about 5 years. My most recent was on Royal and we have a mixed tier family. Although we are all Crown And Anchor members, my niece (10) is Gold, I'm (35) Emerald, and my parents (65+) just turned Diamond. They allowed us to all board at the same time, provided we all signed up for the same arrival time. Next Carnival cruise (Venezia in April 2024), I'm hoping it's the same.
  20. You can always give them a call and let them know you'll be gluten free.
  21. While you don't have to make reservations before the cruise, it's recommended you do. Aqua 80's doesn't require reservations, so you'll get into that. "CATS" I don't think does, but we did it anyway. Sit in the front for "CATS", trust me. "Frozen In Time" requires reservations, as it's a smaller venue. It's offered several times throughout the sailing, so if you don't get in on your first try, keep trying.
  22. I have, but please bear in mind that it's been 5 years since I've done a Carnival cruise, my next Carnival one will be April 2024. Holiday (20+ years ago): hated it, it was like a floating Las Vegas. The only activity for us kids was ice cream socials, which I love but not everyday! Triumph (12+ years ago): a little better, much more organized. Pride (5+ years ago): hated it, too dark and wasn't a good match for someone who was handicapped in our party.
  23. I was in Nassau with the Sunshine last week while cruising on Royal Caribbean's Anthem Of The Seas. I didn't see any police activity, even while in The North Star, the ship's observation tower. In all fairness, the Sunrise was parked in between us and the Sunshine.
  24. Rooms will not be open until at least 1PM (on Royal, not sure about Carnival as I haven't cruised them in 5 years but will be cruising with them next year) and you'll get your cards once you arrive at your room. I've never had my card stolen. Some lines (again, not sure about Carnival) will allow you to purchase drinks before you get to your room provided you bring your printed confirmation with you.
