  1. We used https://700adventures.com/bimini to go to Honeymoon Harbour and interact with stingrays, plus snorkeling at a ship wreck and plane crash. They had a few hours of island tour as well.
  2. Question - were you Sapphire when you boarded, or are you becoming Sapphire during the cruise? I ask because we are "leveling up" during our next cruise, and I wasn't sure when I should go collect the pin
  3. thanks! We had pre-booked dinners on the Getaway in December, and they still made everyone stand in line. It was ridiculous.
  4. can you post the dailies? I know the itinerary will change before we board (in 40), but it would be good to see what the CD does. How is the food in the MDRs? Are the lines controlled, or is it a cluster? Any chance you go to the art auction? How is the auctioneer? enjoy your sail!!
  5. I've seen MSC and Royal. this is great news! Thank you 🙂
  6. We go on every cruise. Usually it's just for the free champagne, but the auctioneer can absolutely make it or break it. For example, we were on the Getaway last month and Adrian was the man with the gavel. He was EXCELLENT. He actually got my teenage son interested in art. We went to every auction they held. It's fun, it's free, and it's indoors on cold/wet sea days.
  7. There is a Park West art forum on FB. Maybe buy art at one of the auctions. Sell it there (or see if someone you trust has a request).
  8. We were there a few weeks ago. Most of the shops were open when the ship was in port. Hours were shortened though. Everything was a ghost town (except the pubs) by 5pm.
  9. It'll probably be cheaper now than it would be if you waited a couple of years to book. Plus, if it DOES go down, you can reprice it. I don't see there being any issues sailing the Viva in July 2025. We booked her for July 2024. That would be one he!! of a long delay.
  10. f you like art auctions, be sure to go on the Getaway. Adrian was the most fun Art Director we have ever seen. My teenage son even enjoyed it. We went EVERY day. ha
  11. excited to hear about Kruger and Cape Town. We'll be doing a land tour there in 2025. Enjoy ❤️
  12. You can (at least before covid) get free charms from Diamonds International at the ports. For the ship, you can get a free bracelet, and then charms are $10 a day. Once you get the last one, you get a "free" one. Effy may give away free charms daily. I saw that this past month, and that was new.
  13. We were on the Getaway the week before you. I'll agree with most of what you said. Most (if not all) water based excursions were canceled, and we left Bermuda early. And yes - there were WAY too many people for the staff to accommodate. There were lines longer than I had ever seen, and entertainment was canceled <60 minutes before showtime. We ate at the buffet, all 3 MDRs, O Sheehans, Shanghai Noodles and La Cucina. The food was worse than it had been in the past. Most of it was cold, and very blah flavor. Add on wait times (even with reservations) of 2+ hours per meal, it makes it not the best. What made it worse was the rudeness of a lot of guests. I felt bad for the crew. They were busting their butts trying to accommodate everyone. Their attitudes were still great despite people yelling at them. And yes, I fully realized it was a holiday cruise. More importantly, a "bad cruise" is better than no cruise at all! I promptly booked another Christmas holiday cruise the day I got home.
  14. the shareholder benefit is only $50 on a 5 day while it's $100 on a 7.
  15. The Getaway has been leaving early for the past month. The sailing before ours left 1 hour early and ended up getting in late. Because of this, we left 3 hours early. The officer I spoke to told me it's because of the wind and weather. They can't go as fast when the seas aren't smooth. I think they should just say that outright instead of making people believe it wasn't a known risk of sailing in the winter.
  16. We were on the Getaway 12/18. Million Dollar Quartet was awesome! Was that canceled? Illusionarium was canceled (both showings, last sea day....about 15 minutes before start time), and Burn the Floor was pretty tired as usual.
  17. O'Sheehans was also open this past week when we sailed out of NYC on embarkation day.
  18. Can someone give me a suggestion on where to watch sailaway from on the Getaway (out of NYC)? Is there Karaoke? If so, do you know where? thanks!!
