I'm sure we'll spend some evenings(maybe long ones ) in the casino, aboard the Nieuw Amsterdam. Are the paytables any good? Like 9/6 Jacks or Better?
-
We just booked inside, on the forward 6th deck. Cabins above and below, and our cabin is opposite direction from elevators. Other direction appears to be doors to an exclusive wrap-around deck, above the huge forward outside deck. Privacy and great views over the crowd.
These, and budget, were all important considerations. But noise wouldn't be an issue anyway, because we use a sound machine.

Thank you. Great information.

I'm considering a stay-park-cruise, from Accent Inn, in Richmond. Includes parking for 7 days, and transport to and from Canada Place. It's right off bc99, so very convenient for me.
$239 CAD. Anyone done this? Does it seem like a good, reputable deal?

If your flight arrives in the late evening, the train that goes into the city (terminal very close to cruise terminal) includes an extra charge. In that case, a taxi is best. Taxi was not expensive.
If your flight comes in during mid day, consider taking the train into the city.
Does that extra charge apply only to those boarding at YVR. Does it also apply if I board at, say, the casino stop? I'm considering parking near YVR and riding the Canada Line to the cruise terminal.

We bought our White Pass train tickets online.
In Juneau have a beer at Red Dog saloon.
If you haven't yet discovered the Alaska Forum on CC, do so.
. Lots of info there.
Thanks. (And my wife is a MK Director)

Nieuw Amsterdam, inside passage, late August. Stops at Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, and Ketchican. We're too old for the real physical stuff, but we could do a fair amount of walking. The scenic and cultural excursions would be great. Love a good beer, as well, so your "best bars" would also help.
Any tips on the best way to purchase are appreciated, especially the White Pass train.
Thank you for any and all help. Our second cruise in 20 years. I love planning trips.

There is already a good list for these places - it is called Trip Advisor.
DON
...which owns CC, amiright?

Thank you, Ashland. That's the personal experiences I'm looking for.
And Nic, I've been reading that link. I thought I'd get a different crowd of respondents here. But thanks.

Great cruise report...and timely.
We're sailing her in August, essentially our maiden voyage, because our only other cruise, 20 years ago, was a 3-day to Bahamas, on the NCL's Leeward, a converted ferry.
We've booked an Inside, on the 6th deck. The layout is a rectangle, parallel to the hallway, door in the middle. Anyone have experience with that configuration? Is it a larger room?
-
Yeah, I just got that link, earlier. Thanks. The only 3 that weren't sold out were not close enough to the Canada Line. I suppose I could taxi from there. $35?

Our HAL late-Aug 7-day cruise is booked, and I'm searching parking options. As it stands now, I have Choice hotel points I will use, to stay the night before, somewhere between Blaine and Bellingham. Embark Sat. morning, we will cross at Blaine, or, if that looks very busy, cross at Lynden, then turn at the first left and take the border street(on the BC side) to just past the BC crossing, where we get on BC99. How is the crossing on Sat. mornings?
As for parking, was thinking of several YVR lots, then Canada Line to the cruise terminal. But also looking at parking at Canada Place, for max convenience, though it may cost more than desired.
Thank you
