  1. Then the denial was inappropriate. Submit again now.
  2. I assume that your brother is now a USA citizen. The purpose of requiring a passport is to give US immigration proof a person is allowed to enter the USA. For someone with a USA birth certificate, that would be proof of US citizenship and the driver's license would be proof of identity. But a foreign birth certificate along with a drivers license is not proof a person has valid entry into the USA. The addition of Citizenship papers could provide that proof, but I do not know if that is acceptable for cruising. Sorry this has happened. The Princess person on the phone obviously did not realize the need to prove entry into the US would be allowed was needed.
  3. Did you apply recently? The July 31,2022 date was the latest authorized by the CCL Corp Board of Directors in March, 2021. But in early March 2022 the Board extended the date to July 21, 2023. If you applied to Princess after early March, it should have been approved.
  4. Those are not Princess rules.
  5. It means the names are not in use by anyone else, either cruise ships or other product.
  6. The 2 day prior tests are to satisfy the CDC recommendations for testing. Any test at boarding or after boarding is to satisfy a requirement of a port on the itinerary. Any testing at the end of a cruise is to satisfy ongoing travel requirements (such as flying back to USA).
  7. All the Medallion has on it is a reference number that the ship's computers link to your on board information. It has no computer "intelligence" built in to it.
  8. Just about all of the reviews with negativity also say that the crew is great. The negativity is definitely not about the crew.
  9. The Princess FCCs cannot be applied to a cruise on a different line, so that would not be a viable option.
  10. The FCC (but not the bonus FCC) was allowed to be refunded to original form of payment (if that was not an FCC also) if no part of it had been applied to a cruise after one year from which it was issued. This was not widely publicized by Princess, but was in small print somewhere on the Princess web site. In addition, when looking at FCCs listed in your MyPrincess account, the ones that can be refunded to original form of payment have the description "Cash value FCC - voyage Xxxx-100%). The bonus FCCs have the description "Used for Goodwill FCCs"
  11. After all the pandemic-era regulations and international travel rules, get ready for one new requirement coming for travelers to Europe in 2023. The European Travel Information and Authorization System will introduce a mandatory registration and a 7 euro (about $7.50) fee for visitors to most European countries as of May 2023. While some people have called this a “visitor tax,” the stated reason for the program is improved security. According to then-European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker when ETIAS was announced in 2016, “We need to know who is crossing our borders. This way we will know who is traveling to Europe before they even get here.” https://thepointsguy.com/news/europe-requiring-new-entry-fee-for-visitors/
  12. I think this applies when the customer has paid the travel agent (package holiday organizer) directly and then the TA pays the supplying company. In the USA, at least, when a TA asks for payment from a customer, the charge is directly made to Princess, not to the TA. Thus the TA is out of any refund loop as far as the funds ever passing through them on the way back to the customer. The refunds go directly from Princess to the customer's credit card.
  13. Following is from six different webinars. Text the same for some of them.
  14. When cruises were cancelled, even if not paid in full, two types of FCCs were issued. First was an FCC which represented $$$ the cruiser had actually paid. Second was the "bonus" FCC which represented Princess giving extra for the disappointment of a cancelled cruise and to retain customer loyalty. The first type (representing actual $$$) would be refundable if not used within a year. I would expect that the first type (representing actual $$$) would be commission-able when applied to a new booking. I would hope that the second type (bonus FCC) would also be commission-able to reward the TAs for their continuing to work with Princess and for the efforts they put in on working with clients for cruises which Princess cancelled.
  15. We mainly cruise to visit destinations we have never been before or those we have visited once but want to see more of. (This does not include visiting Cozumel or St Thomas or Barcelona, etc. for the umpteenth time.)
  16. In general I have had no problem pre-Pandemic paying all kinds of bills using the ship's WIFI. Like others, I have some bills on autopay and for utilities I often estimate and pay in advance. I would never have credit card bills on autopay as until I can see the bill, I cannot verify there are no unauthorized charges. However a current glitch is the tendency for many web sites to require two-factor authorization. In other words, receive a special code that you must enter. The problem is that many banks and other web sites will not allow the secret code to be sent via E-mail. It must go either as a text to a cell-phone or to your home land line. So if you have a cell phone that works while on the ship at the same time you are trying to pay bills, you will be OK if you are required to use two-factor authorization.
  17. And they are not a gift from your TA or from Princess.. You paid for them as part of the extra $40/day/person for Princess Plus.
  18. I would make that dreaded call. There may be a glitch your call could get movement on. Call around 6 AM Pacific time for the shortest wait on hold.
  19. But it is not allowed during Passover for the observant.
  20. If Princess takes back a booking, it is at the full price, not any discounted rate a TA may have been charging.
  21. Another thread on the subject points out that the changed port times on ports that stayed the same meant they had booked independent shore excursions that depart before the ship will now arrive. Others posted that they have Princess excursions that were before the ship will now arrive and wonder if Princess will be able to provide the same excursions with a later arrival. With so many ships in port, excursion providers may not be able to provide the Princess excursions at a later time.
  22. The difference in cost from entry price mini-suite to mini-suite Club Class is about $35/person/day. (More if looking at the difference from an inside, oceanview or balcony cabin.) So for two people at is $70/day. You have to decide if that is the best use for your $70 each evening.
  23. DMW claims to allow you to eat at the time you want to eat by making a reservation for that time. Reality is different from the promise. That is why people are upset. Don't have me book a table 3 months in advance for 7:30 and then when I arrive at 7:30 tell me I may have to wait more than a few minutes to be seated. Traditional Dining always meant that the table would be ready at the time you were assigned to eat. (Yes, there would be a line the first evening since everybody had to be led to their tables.) DMW promises the TD experience for those who liked TD, but does not deliver on that promise. DMW promised those who liked Anytime Dining they could make a reservation for their idea of when they wanted to eat, even doing so the same day. But it works the way Anytime used to work. Show up and you will be seated sooner or later.
