  1. Today we're still in Panama. Went out to sea last night then came back for a port day. It's so hot.. only managed 2 hours at the pool. Did the charcuterie in Vines last night. It was just ok. 2 cheeses, 4 meats, olives and pickled onion. No bread, no crackers. Served with what tasted like soy sauce. Splitting one is an ok snack. If I paid $15 for this, I wouldn't be happy. Great server though. Not having much luck in the casino. It's a Prestige Cruise so unless you're a part of that, the casino hosts basically ignore you. Back to the Crown Grill tonight. I absolutely love the restaurant managers and head waiters at all the venues. Tomorrow is the MTP luncheon. Only my second invite. Nap time so I can stay up and watch Iowa State and Illinois tonight.
  2. No, we actually have a port day here before we head north. We went out to sea last night and then came back this morning
  3. It's a lovely little bar. Very quiet. They had the suite get together up there and then meeting for the Chef's table last night.
  4. Chef's table last night was excellent. Great food and company. It's held in Sabatinis on this ship. I really like the location of Sabatinis on this ship... great for breakfast. We'll eat dinner there next week. Today we did the full transit mainly from our aft balcony. We've done it before so wanted a different vantage point. We got up at 6:30 as we entered the canal so tonight we're just going to do the casual dining at Vines and drink some good wine. It's really hot here.
  5. We spent most of the day on our Aft balcony. Wandered a bit but mostly just used our loungers.
  6. Guest services happily gave me on board credit for what I had paid. Easy!
  7. Only Vines and Salty Dog Gastropub. To me Vines is more of a share an appetizer than an actual meal. They will on various sea days open up Planks and Steamers. They get busy!
  8. They are really all the same, just depends on location. For dinner I think Botticelli is less crowded...DaVinci is more centrally located.
  9. It's an Italian lunch with wine pairings. I don't think I've ever seen it advertised...evidently you're just supposed to know. We asked the head waiter at the embarkation lunch. $60 per person, held in Sabatinis.
  10. I don't do live from posts but usually do a review when I get home. That being said, I am currently on the Ruby and having a wonderful time. We got the invite to the Chef's Table, signed up for the Super Tuscan lunch and my husband won $25 in Princess prizes. If you have any questions about the ship, I'm happy to answer.
  11. Depends what time you go to bed. Unfortunately, you are on the side with the stage, I stayed on the other side last year and didn't hear a thing.
  12. I board Saturday. I plan on introducing myself to the casino host and see if I can get any information on casino cruises. I used to get hearts offers all the time, even did a prestige cruise once, I'm gambling the same and nada. Luckily I got 3 booked when I had offers.
  13. I've heard stories of people going to Guest Services in their PJ's and not leaving until something was done. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience.
  14. First of all the heading should specify Alaska. I did a cruisetour to Machu Picchu and it ws 5 stars all the way. It is pricey and worth every penny.
  15. We cruise in a week and booked with the Plus package. I've decided to upgrade us to the Premium. I've already booked 2 specialty dining. Any idea if they'll refund the $ paid since it's before the cruise?
  16. You should try Rudi's. My husband said the filet he had was better than anyone he's had at the CG.
  17. no. the only people who can order from the MDR are full suites guests and even that must be done over the phone.
  18. I think if you go through to the final page, it says 0. It did for me.
  19. It is. My husband often orders 2. The joy of being 6' 7".
  20. Have you spoken to the Maitre D or headwaiter?
  21. when I was on the Discovery in January they did one and said they were trying it out. Must have been successful.
  22. You'll love her. Her crew was ranked #1 for Princess ships. I was on her a year ago and there wasn't anything I disliked.
