  1. Well I know this for other things, lol, but now I will try it for MVJ. Thanks. So nice to have help navigating things!!
  2. Well, here’s a funny/sad story from our last cruise. A man at a table for four next to us in the Restaurant was kind of a braggadocio. He kept talking about how he had the package and it was great and he wouldn’t drink the included wine. So, someone at his table suggested he buy a bottle and share. He thought about this for a few seconds, realized he would by footing the bill for his entire table and back-pedaled. He told everyone to get their included wine and he and his wife had their wine off the package. What a buffoon.
  3. I loaded MVJ onto my husband’s IPad. It works fine. I just have trouble reading the small print on an iPhone when I am trying to get work done, like booking excursions.
  4. Mine is Six years old. I got it before our WC in Jan 2019. Time for a new one. And BTW, I’m way out of my league here. Thanks to all!
  5. Yes, that’s true, I just meant it’s worthless for MVJ. That said, I’ve been saying for two years I need a new iPad. Perhaps this is the impetus to get it.
  6. This seems to be the problem. I, too, have an older iPad, but am iPhone 15. I now get MJV on my iPhone, but nothing on my iPad. I can install OS 17 (or whatever it is) except I don’t have enough space. So, Viking has just rendered my iPad useless. This is very unfortunate. Perhaps I will try on my husbands newer iPad. What a pain!
  7. Oddly, I tried first on my iPhone and then switched to my iPad. Can’t get in on either device. So glad this isn’t a shore ex booking day!
  8. I hope Viking is reading this!
  9. I’ve been trying to go on, and get prompted to enter my email because Viking has changed things to make it more convenient to get on. So I enter my email, press continue, and then get nothing. Just a spinning circle. But while the circle is spinning it sends me an email with a verification code, that I can’t use because I can’t get to the next page. ARG! I hate it when companies changes what worked perfectly well to make things “more convenient.”
  10. Yes, we got ours back on Monday. And now I have airline credits. Just not the best, on Viking’s part. Even nine months out, my TA and I have been jumping through hoops to salvage what we can of this trip.
  11. Nope, that was the cruise we were on, Pacific Coast Explorer, April 17-25, LA to Vancouver. Viking canceled it last week and said the ship was being re-deployed elsewhere.
  12. We are considering that! My husband thought maybe on the train. But I don’t really know how to do that. Will research it! It will be good to go home for several days, in any case.
  13. Well, today, Alaska air gave us a certificate good for the amount of our tickets. Has to be redeemed within one year for Travel up to 11 months after that. But Alaska is not a good fit for us. But we are already planning a use for it. Our insurance will not reimburse because we got the voucher. But we are trying to make lemonade out of lemons. 10 days in LA where we are from. Seeing family and friends. And, I see I can book the West Indies cruise in Feb-March of 2026 for a big birthday. So, Ok, onward! Always something else in the world to see!
  14. We have had many changes with Viking in the course of our nine Ocean cruises. And they have always been so generous, even when not their fault. But this is solely their fault, not a change, but a cancelation. And just nothing. I am tempted not to rebook another cruise with them.
  15. There seem to be some W Indies cruises left, and we might book one. But we booked this a year ago because it is domestic, and it just gets harder and harder, at our age, to fly to Europe. Once there we are fine. But 24+ hour flights and transport are just really hard, although we have two more coming up. Yes. I am really disappointed, and disappointed in Viking for not acknowledging that people have booked non-refundable flights, as we have. The cancellation is only for Sea. But apparently all Pacific Coast Explorer cruises were on Sea. They don’t exist anymore.
  16. Viking is redeploying the Sea to other areas of the world. All its cruises in N America are canceled through 2026.
  17. I’m sorry, on Sea.
  18. Well, this has become a moot point, as Viking has canceled all Pacific Coast explorer cruises, as well as West Indies cruises, on Sky. But thanks. I’m really unhappy with Viking right now.
  19. I guess. Saw no lupine in Alaska. And enjoyed the Iceland trip so much more than Alaska.
  20. I think Orion does this route now for several years.
  21. I just ran a check searching for cruises touching somewhere in N America for all sailing dates. No Wedt Indies cruises. No Pacific Coast Explorer cruises.
  22. Still doesn’t explain all the West Coast Explorer cruises canceled. This is about the ship, the Sea, being re-deployed, not a particular region, I don’t think.
  23. So they are cancelling for two years out? That is crazy.
  24. Exactly! So take the ship out of N America and create new cruises in Europe etc. to take up the slack of those that are canceled due to problems in the Middle East. At least that’s the only take I can find on this.
