  1. B2B process was suuuuuuuuper easy. Took about 60 mins from arrival at MDR to feet back in atrium. Only 8 of us. Was weird being only ones on ship. First guest i saw was 11:02am. Buffett was completely full by noon. Every seat. Both room stewards have been superfantastic.
  2. The casino taketh but on final night the casino giveth away! Wife won $275 on a .75 buffalo spin. Ended up even on trip. (Minus some obc credit) I won $100 freeplay. Im waking out down a hunny(not counting freeplay) Excellent drink service 3/4 nights. Final night might have been too many drankers.
  3. Nothing good happens after 3am 😃
  4. Had a fantastic smoked salmon goat cheese salad at dinner. Then ate pork spareribs entree to more than offset my daily "sacrifice". About 1/3 rack. I must admit it was gooooood!
  5. I would have never thought CCL would "allow" that. Nice to see things can still surprise and impress.
  6. News and notes from end of day 3. Havent had a single whiff of reefer in hallways, public areas or on anyones person. We were walked past dog at port about a dozen at a time before scanning carry ons. I expect anyone bringing mary j to the ship would check it with the porters, no? Wife ordered chicken parm at MDR was brought fried catfish. She did a double take at first. I dont think i server knew the difference in entrees visually when we brought it to his attention. No worries, fixed in 3 minutes. Holy cow my pork spareribs were waaaaaay better than anticipated. Two thumbs up. I must admit i ordered them out of curiosity. Ive always dislike the buffet ribs at sea. Ha! Just watched the theater company sing and dance with lobby band at 915pm set. 4 thumbs up. Sang 70s hits. Fun for kids of all ages! Buh buh buh bennnn- eee. Next stop Nassau!
  7. We have property on Sanibel FL and havent even begun reconstruction yet. (Almost two years later) Ian was a Cat 5 storm that brought 15 ft storm surge to pair with the 150mph winds. Ive rode out Cat 1s and tropical storms but a true Cat 4-5 scares the curse word out of me now. These recent storms are monsters.
  8. Maybe get a steakhouse selection in MDR for you instead? Unless cost is no object.
  9. Princess Cay - didnt do much research. Food ended 1pm. No free tea/water after that point. Had 1.5 Guyburgers before tending to land. But i woulda loooooved some ice water. Bought 2 bottles agua for $7. Went to south beach and it was quite rocky. Lotsa folks walking gingerly in the surf. Some taking a tumble. Still weather was impeccable.
  10. Easy embarkation. Suitcases didnt arrive til after sailaway. (We are platinum, if anyone was curious). No biggie. PA announcement today asked everyone to check under beds and in closets for someone else's luggage. Eeeeeeeek. Feel for whomever is missing their stuff!
  11. SAS transportation went pretty well. Driver called 3x before i got luggage. Walked up 1 floor to departures to meet. Very nice extended van. Comfy chairs. At port in order to use card have to call home office. Pfffft. Driver suggested Zelle which was super easy. A bargain at $15pp!!!!
  12. Have 1030 port arrival tomorrow in miami but i flubbed up. Plane lands 945am FLL. Ack. We always arrive day before, get hotel and embark about noon but this saved us about 500 on airfare for 2.
  13. Somewhat related... Will be on ship on 7/4...i wonder if Independence Day will be the Dive In film that night.
  14. Watched Conquest dock in Nassau today of port youtube channel. Ready to embark tomorrow! Got the premium wifi in case we get lots of rain. Mainly to download podcasts.
  15. And its a Cat 3 Hurricane. I love Cancun but Jun 30 is unlucky for us there and it looks like Beryl will hit it next week after passing the Lesser Antilles and Jamaica.
  16. I like it frosty my wife warmer. We have sailed a couple handful of CCL ships she almost always gets a 2nd blankie. AC usually works well. Now the chillers (fridge) are a different story. 😀
  17. Well, thats unfortunate. I assume that just occured last sailimg. Fine the predecessors!
  18. Good question. I know a podcast with cruise and radio in the title states there is "good, better and best trip insurance". We would get it post covid but our TA got much less expensive option than CCL. That said, hard to put a price on peace of mind and protection. Good luck!!!
  19. Anyone have tips on eating somewhat healthy on Carnival? Are buffet dishes made from scratch? I think im about to turn a corner on mah diet. Growing older but not up was a lifestyle for decades but....gonna try to eat more whole foods moving forward. Fruits, veggies and stuff without preservatives and chemicals. That elimates foo foo drinks with soda/sugar added. Ill stick with sipping bourbon. Mezcal. Beer. And maybe ill finally embrace wine.
  20. 3 days til sailaway and it looks like there is a tropical depression in the atlantic ocean that has 80% chance to form into tropical storm/hurricane. the spaghetti models tend to make it look like storm will dive below Cuba and head to the Mexican Riviera region. whew. (we had a tropical storm on our Mexican wedding and a hurricane there on our 10 yr anniversary. which is in two days. ha!)
  21. Booked a $15pp van shuttle from FLL to Port Miami. Looking forward to reporting back how this works out. Phenomenal bargain if there is no hair on this booking. Lyft was $100ish. Carnival was about $40pp and we would have to wait until noon to depart. We land 945am.
  22. Just bought 12 pack water to be delivered to room. $17.50 after fees.
  23. Interesting to see so many mushroom recommendations. Lightheartedly i must admit mushrooms are one thing my wife and I agree on - avoid at all costs!
