Special Future Guest Promotion, FV23 and as I posted it is for those who currently have a cruise booked. small print on back which I did not see before...can not be used on line, not good for World Cruise, expires 12/31/2023. Pay in full is before the 6 months that we usually get if booking with a cruise already booked. 2025 5/31/2024 and 2026 11/30/2024. this came in Saturday's mail. Maybe it is Fake News but sure looks a viking Mailing!

We too are waiting for the website to go live we are scheduled to go to Iguaza Falls mid January and want to visit the Brazilian falls.
-
We will wait to be onboard so at least will get some ship board credit.
-
and the cruise I am hoping for never seems to be included...Late summer Bergen to New York!
-
Agree...no amount was enough when we were in the Sacred Valley ( one of the best post excursions it included Machu Picchu not with Viking )! The South America cruise on Viking was great!
-
what sort of shipboard activities are there during a crossing? Considering for fall 2024.
-
Interestingly on our recent River Cruises with the the SSP we could have a "glass(es)" of most of the wines although many could not be "purchased" by the glass. There were only a handful of the by the bottle that we could not have. Perhaps because wines are more available for the River Ships.
-
Definitely available often had a Baileys and Hot Chocolate in the Explorer's Lounge while watching for birds and whales during the cruise around South America while onboard the Jupiter!
-
Baileys and hot chocolate !
-
oh I had not even considered that...love birds and my husband loves to take pics! Were there special excursions for birders?
-
Thanks, everyone. We are seriously considering this voyage for 2025 as late dates in 2024 are full and we want to do East to West for easier time changes.

Retirement is wonderful!

We sailed European Sojourn mid September then did the Douro river. We also really enjoyed Transylvania did you do that as a post extension? Romanian wines were some of the best we had on our time in Europe. Who knew?

I will be very curious to see if the larger v/DV staterooms actually feel any larger

sleep 7...reliving the cruise through your report ...make to post when next installment is posted 🙂

Sleep 7...thank you so very much for this review. We did European Sojourn ( Bucharest to Amsterdam) the middle of September. We also were in Cabin 200 ( so convenient)! I had to laugh at your husband's comment...it had been since pre-covid that we had been on a River ship but had been on an Ocean...I opened the door to our luggage taking up floor space and said I can't do this for a month...once things were put away we were fine BUT if we do multiple weeks again will probably opt of Veranda so we have a chair and extra drawers. We were on the Vidar but stopped in Passau and bussed to Nuremberg to the Lif ( probably why you were on the Lofn). The Eastern Europe portion was certainly a highlight ( our second time from Budapest to Amsterdam). So glad you pre- in Budapest so you had time to spend there and not just a drive by! Can't wait to see the rest of your photos. My husband still has most pics on camera's cards....didn't get home until last week! But he did do a FB group page from cell phone pics which was fun and nice to look back on.

I am not always sure that these sales don't just move costs from air discounts to cruise fares or vice versa. Given the terrible Air Plus/deviation we had with "free air" recently not sure that we will ever do Viking air. We had free air on a recent " European Sojourn". However, Viking would not fly us to Amsterdam rather Michigan on free air. No compensation from Viking for only using 1/2 ticket. I get it their rules and their money. Wish Viking would just discount cruise fares and throw in SSP! but everyone has different ideas and choices.
-
BUT in viking's case it IS voluntary unlike resort fees or taxes at hotels.
-
I can not imagine spending time at a laundry during the short time we have in port. On our recent cruises in Portugal and Bucharest to Amsterdam the laundry never took more than 24 hours. Always perfect..yes a bit expensive but when I check laundry prices during our hotel stays the ship was slightly less costly.

That would be a huge coincidence if Jane was onboard! I would make sure I had a more substantial role in the filming though 🙂
