  1. I wonder if Amex has anything to do with it. We got our refund in 4 days from NCL. it was only 2K but I was pleased at how quickly it was credited to Amex. Rep told me 90 days .

  3. Cancelled our planned Mediterranean cruise on May 16, the day that Final was due. Got a full refund ( credit to Amex) yesterday. It was for initial deposit for a suite and a drinks upgrade for a total of 2K. I was told by the rep it would take 90 days so this was a pleasant surprise.

  5. Not a doctor, are you? That's a joke .The "common cold" can kill an immunocompromised patient. I have seen many, many sick and elderly on vents after the symptoms of their "cold" escalated. This scary virus attacks the same population- the elderly and compromised. Those who are under 70 and healthy should have mild symptoms if infected. Passing the virus to the elderly is another story. I would hazard a guess that thousands of us have had it and not even known it was not a seasonal cold.

  8. The buffet rational is not paranoia . The reasoning is that some idiot coughs into their hand and then touches the serving spoon. Transmission of virus to spoon. As the virus survives a minimum of several hours on solid surface, it is there when you come along, use the spoon, touch your nose/eyes/mouth and that is your transmission vector. Just wash your hands after serving yourself ( if self serve is even allowed) and you have rid yourself of the goobies) This is also why wearing gloves is a waste of time- you still have the virus on the gloves and then- pull your hair back, touch your lips, wipe your eyes. This doesn’t just apply to Covid-19. Watch people out in public and you will be amazed at how often the face is touched by it’s owner. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

  11. The Sun was unbearable a month ago. It was just as much a smokers lounge as a casino. We spent very little time there; my husband could only tolerate 15-20 minutes. We enjoy the casinos usually , this was awful. Also the ceiling above my machine started to rain water ( I hope) down i. Me one night.... Sent from my iPhone using Forums

  14. Absolutely. You wear a"rubber" glove, touch the serving spoon , OOPS! your hair is in your face, you push it back - or you touch your face. The glove is no different than skin. Then, when you take off the gloves , you pull it off without using proper technique -both your hands and forearms are "contaminated. Gloves offer zero protection unless you have an open wound that needs to be covered- and then you should not be serving yourself anyway! If you serve all your buffet items and then sanitize your hands before you use your utensils you will be FINE!

RE: We don't know for sure yet but there is a possibility that if I cancel after March 10 and before my final payment date, my refund will be in the form of FCC instead of real refund to my credit card. I don't think that's right at all. After final payment date, FCC is fair enough It will be FCC for now. Its all on the website. And when I just spoke to NCL the rep confirmed that no credit card refunds will be given after tomorrow at midnight for any cruise fare or added items with the exception of pre-purchased OBC and insurance The FAQs do state it is a temporary policy- who knows what that means in NCL land. I personally do not appreciate the fact that I no longer have the option of a refund on my down payment towards cruise fare if I cancel within the previous deadlines, but we all accept their "rules" when we make that deposit .
