Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I had to cancel the first 17 day leg of this sailing due to illness. Please let me live vicariously through all the posts and pictures! It would be great to see daily activities, food pictures, and anything else to help me as I recover. I wish you all a wonderful journey.
  2. Yes, those boys at the Martini Bar make a mean French 77. And an incredible Cosmo. But ask for the beautiful Riedel glasses with the fluted edges!
  3. Exactly my experience with the "host"...he chased me down while I was in line at the Cashier cage since my key card didn't work to collect points and get an advance. Never saw him again until day 7. Probably the best job onboard!
  4. Well hello RS neighbor! I could not have summed up this cruise better than Ms. GP already has. I was following their travel saga on the runway at SFO, while I was on a weather delay due to hail and winds. It wasn't until she posted a pic and her cabin number that I realized we were next-door neighbors. I did the ultimate fan-boy faux pas when I leaned over the balcony to say hello. My husband and I were dedicated Crystal fanatics until the bitter end. Our experience on this cruise in RS 1118 and the food/service everywhere onboard, especially in Luminae, have quickly moved Celebrity to the top of our list. Even though the Solstice is somewhat dated in decor, she is immaculate, and the crew is really proud of their ship. I have to give a special shout out to our butler Glenn, cabin attendant Komang, and Ada in Luminae...and the lovely Mar in Michael's Club. (I sent my regards to Mar from Abby Dancer and Iain! She would love a dinner with us Bay Area folk when they overnight in SFO). Oh, and of course, all the guys at the Martini Bar for my French 77s (a great twist on the French 75). Most of all, we met the most outgoing, friendly, fun people onboard, and hopefully some future cruise buddies. If any of you are reading this, hello to Temecula, Albuquerque, Perth AU, Portland, Biloxi and of course GP and Bob.
  5. Charla, I am such a "fan boy" of yours! My husband and I need to meet you and Jeremy on a Celebrity cruise sometime soon. I only wish my hubby would want to cruise as much as you...but I'm game to share a cabin with you anytime! You should start your own travel website and become an influencer. You've convinced me to book a Royal Suite on the Solstice out of LA this Saturday! I'm a long-time ex Crystal Cruises addict, and looking forward to being spoiled in the Retreat. Cheers!
  6. Hello aring75, I'll be following along as well. Looking forward to hearing about your impressions of the condition of the ship, especially the cabin. I had a Mexico Millenium sailing booked, that has since been replaced with the Solstice. Safe travels and have a great cruise!
  7. Thanks phoenix_dream...those sailings are still listed but if you try to book you get the same message for every sailing: No Rooms found for this request
  8. Wondering if anyone has information regarding the 2022 Mexican Riviera sailings? First the Millennium was swapped out for Solstice, now I can't find availability on Solstice! Are the Mexican Riviera sailings scrapped or will there be a 3rd ship doing those sailings?
