I am booked in a studio cabin for a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise in January 2023. When I booked I received a $50 credit per port for shore excursions. However, I have two listings in my account summary for this credit.
They read:
- Shore Excursions Promotional Credit: $50 USD per port Shore Excursion Promotional Credit
- Shore Excursion Promotional Credits: $50 Shore Excursion Credit per tour for first Guest on cruise reservation
So, my question is whether I have, in fact, $100 credit / port, or if these are not combinable (or if it's actually a mistake). Both have my name listed (as I'm the only one on the reservation).
Thanks!

Pretty sure it's at the Xplor park in Playa Del Carmen.

Have you seen any information & cost for the new show that will be in the dinner theater? I think it is called 'Velvet'. It is supposed to be replacing the Cirque dinner show that ran for several years.
I sail in 4 weeks, and for me Velvet is listed as $24.99, but that it has to be booked onboard.

Happy birthday!
Did you (or your wife) tell them that it was your birthday, or did they bring you the cake on their own? I'm curious, since I'll be celebrating my birthday on the Breakaway in a month, and wondered if they would do anything if I didn't say anything!
Hope you keep having an awesome holiday!

I'm debating between a studio and an inside cabin now. These tips are very helpful. @imgoingonacruise Could you post a review when you get back about the room and lounge? Thanks.
Will do!

Thanks so much for this level-headed review, Keith. It was so much more helpful than many others I've read as I've been planning for my time on the Breakaway at the end of May.
I'm curious about your embarkation - what time were you at the port, which terminal was Breakaway at, and how were the lines? Currently my e-docs have no port listed, and noon is the given embarkation time, so I'm curious how it went for you.
Thanks!

My last cruise I discovered the Pain Killer and absolutely plan on that being my first drink on board in May!
Dark rum, pina colada mix, pineapple juice, and orange juice. Mmmmmmmmm.

Thanks all! I guess I'll plan to be well slathered in suncream while I spend time there!

I have previously sailed on the Escape, and spent lots of time at Spice H2O. I know there were umbrellas there for shade. However, as I've been doing research for my upcoming cruise on the Breakaway, I noticed that none of the images seem to show umbrellas at Spice H2O on this ship.
Can anyone remember if there are in fact umbrellas for shade, if they are only out when it's not windy, or if there simply aren't any there?
Thanks!

Yeah, I fell for one of those “no neighbor” studios once and ended up next to an industrial ice maker in that “blank space”. Hah.
I’ve always had connecting rooms apart from that one. Haven’t had a problem yet except for folks listening to music or TV while getting ready to go out for the evening. I highly recommend the LectroFan micro white noise machine (see Amazon). Puts out incredible volume for its tiny size.
That's good advice - I might see about downloading some white noise tracks on my phone ahead of time!

I really enjoyed the studios when I was on the Breakaway in October. Imelda was our solo coordinator and she was great. The one thing I wasn’t crazy about was a lot of the solo rooms have connecting doors to another solo cabin and if your neighbor isn’t considerate it can be quite noisy.
I had wondered about the connecting rooms, and made a point to book one that wasn’t connecting - only to read about the fact that it’s kitty-corner to a cleaning closet and there’s quite a bit of noise in the mornings from it. I guess it’s good I’m an early bird!

Thanks everyone, that's super helpful. I'm looking forward to seeing how the studio experience is, having only been in larger rooms while travelling with others!

I'm sailing on the Breakaway at the end of May, and am looking forward to my first studio cabin experience. I've been trying to figure out what exactly the studio lounge bar entails - is there a bartender? Is it open to 'grab a beer from a fridge'? I have the UBP, so I'm mostly just wondering if I'll be needing to grab a drink from elsewhere to take back to my cabin when I'm going for a nap or down time, or if I'll be able to grab something from the lounge. Thanks!

Thanks all! I'll plan my excursions with the assumption that I've only got one $50 credit.
