  1. The cruise more than makes up for the slightly uncomfortable wait to board! Have a great time!
  2. We embarked at Civitavecchia last November. It was a shower! No priority boarding, no refreshments apart from one small bottle of water between us. Hard plastic seats. Four hour wait. Our next cruise leaves from Barcelona, I’m hoping for a better experience!
  3. Maybe they were handing them out in the suite guest area but unfortunately not in ours! I'm taking my own refreshments next time!
  4. You must be special, we didn’t get anything apart from one bottle of water between us! We waited for 4 hours, it was the worst embarkation we have ever experienced!
  5. Are you a member of any of the RCCL loyalty groups, ie Celebrity etc? Our level with Azamara showed on Celebrity. Which would provide you with the necessary evidence. However, If your level had been earned by cruises on other lines and last March was your first Azamara cruise then it would not count now.
  6. I believe they were European, possibly Belgium. Also see post 4 above, Norn Iron
  7. I was told by a couple of people onboard that they were only offered one option, not both. They thought it might have been because they had used an agent, but also it is possible that their nationality was the cause.
  8. Our agent phoned Azamara yesterday, the fcc has now been applied to the new booking.
  9. We have been given 50% of the amount we paid as fcc but only the cruise fare not the taxes. Ie if Cruise fare £1000 taxes Circa £225 Total paid £1225 £500 to be given as fcc. When we were at the captains q & a we were told it would be 50% of amount paid in fcc, which is not quite the case.
  10. We were told onboard the certificate would be with us, at the latest, in 40 days. With Azamara’s great shoreside administration I doubt I would get anything without a call ( or two!). We are looking to book a cruise, which we cannot do until we know the fcc is available to use.
  11. Just phoned Azamara again. I’m told the fcc will be linked to our previous booking number and applied when we book the next cruise. It’s not the amount I was expecting but better than nothing! If you were on the cruise I would phone Azamara as they don’t seem to be sending anything out.
  12. I booked direct, we received the letter offering either two days refund or the 50%fcc. I am wishing we had taken the two days refund now!
  13. I heard from a Canadian on the cruise who phoned Azamara just before Christmas and, after some typical denial, managed to secure her fcc.
  14. We were on the Onward cruise that lost power in the Med, Nov 2023. Azamara offered either two days refund or FCC of 50% of cruise fare paid. we opted for the fcc. Where do I find how much was given to me and where it’s shown? I have received an email from Azamara which was complete gobbledegook! They haven’t replied to my second email, having closed my enquiry for some reason.
  15. Cabin 7055 Onward Inside cabin We had this cabin for two nights! Then a pipe from the swimming pool broke, which meant we got no sleep while they fixed the pipe. We moved cabins to 7075, Balcony cabin. All fine.
  16. This thread has made me look at the cruise before ours! It does look like it is a chartered cruise. I haven’t found out who has chartered the ship. My TA has no idea. sounds weird but I’m hoping it’s not a lifestyle cruise!
  17. Yes, it is advertised by the company “ Lifestyles” . I assume people who take that type of cruise are offered the cruises by advertising in the various publications they frequent/ read.
  18. It’s booked for a “Lifestyles “ cruise.

    New website.

We are not cruising for a few months but I’m a bit peeved that Azamara has married my other half off to another woman! It appears he is going on a different cruise than me, lucky him though it’s in a suite to Japan! still no sign of either of our loyalty status though!
  20. No we didn’t but we did notice the Beach House vibrating massively!
  21. Just a heads up about this cabin. It’s on deck 11 aft. balcony cabin. Possibly the worst cabin we have ever been in! When we booked we thought we had checked carefully but missed the room attached to the side where the room stewards keep the cleaning equipment etc. We had assumed the area was just a walkway to the rear cabins, it is not shown properly. We were woken before 7am every morning with the banging of the metal trolleys on the wall, doorframe etc. Impossible to sleep through. The cabin also suffers from extreme vibration from the thrusters, which seem to have also been used not only at docking time but also whilst at sea during the night. Not the relaxing cruise we had hoped for!
  22. We ate in either The Glass House or The Beach House on formal nights dressed in chinos and shirt. No issues at all, they are extra cost but around the £20 ish mark, depending on what you eat.
  23. Just got back. Azura, one week cruise from Malta. I can confirm that on our cruise there was no need for formal dress to dine in either the Beach house or The Glass House. Or, obviously, the buffet. We could also drink in Brodies. we did not try to enter other bars or the theatre.
  24. I feel that the vibe onboard has far more to do with the price the cruise is sold at than the clothes people wear. Our last P & O cruise was sold off cheaply at the last minute and the behaviour onboard was pretty bad. The clothes worn were correct as far as the dress code went, didn’t help their behaviour though. We often find the dining rooms are too warm, spoils the evening.
  25. My take is that if P & O drop the formal requirement the ambience onboard will not change. We prefer to be comfortable while eating, sitting in a suit, tie etc can be hot and lessen the enjoyment.
