  1. Yes fits in well with the sculpture a definite connection with mythology.
  2. Correct. Nice place Devonport. There is a Maritime museum not far from the sculpture that is worth seeing.Had a great holiday driving around Tasmania. Your turn.
  3. Yes it would, he was a spirit of the sea I believe and quite tall. He never wore any clothes and caused a bit of a stir when he first appeared. The locals were upset and caused a bit of a stir so much so it upset his creator who did a bunk to the main land and never came back. Does not look like any other takers, perhaps time to name the place and your turn next.😀
  4. Good one. I think you should pick a photo for your next turn. 😊
  5. Just whisper it and I will keep it to myself 😂
  6. As we live only an hour away from the BICT we would go straight back on board. Have been told that we would be one of the first in line to check back in so it should be nice and quiet on board.😊
  7. Thanks guys, sounds easy enough. I would just have to increase the cruise insurance and parking. 👍 Cheers John
  8. Not having done any back to back cruises I have a couple of questions. I am considering doing a back to back from BICT on the Carnival Luminosa the first cruise is just a three day at sea and the next is 7 days north cruise. The 7 day cruise is already booked and I found the cabin my daughter is booked into is available for the three day cruise. Our cabin is not available for the three days but the one next to it is. I did read my daughter can leave her luggage in the same cabin but obviously ours will need to be moved next door. Will we still have to go through the disembarkation & embarkation process after the three days ? Will my daughter keep her sail card or have to change that ? I suppose I am asking is it a hassle even though you are staying on the same ship. I have not booked the three day cruise as yet but thought the three sea days would be relaxing.
  9. Just paint a white tie on then you will be able to go formal as well as well as MDR.
  10. Shame, you would not be looking at me then.😂
  11. I was going to put a like on your post then I thought I like that you can use your OBC, I don't like that you cant go on the cruise ( shame ) how you going by the way with the Achilles rupture any improvement or to early to say yet ? Cheers John.
  12. I don't wear my suit on formal nights, the first time I wore it was at my wedding 61 years ago and now it wont fit me. 😂
  13. It worked for me, I have now booked the dining using some OBC so all good. Our cruise on the Luminosa is Feb 2024 Barrier Reef. Looking forward to our first cruise with Carnival after many cruises on other lines. I have been told to take my sunglasses to wear onboard when inside 😁 I have a feeling it is going to be very interesting as my last cruise was on the more modern Ovation. Cheers John.
  14. Thanks Geoff, very helpful.👍 Our OBC was also from the cancelled Spirit cruise had to wait ages before they announced the replacement Luminosa. Gee this forum and you guys are such a big help thank you. Cheers John.
  15. Thanks Geoff. That is good to know we have $700 OBC that we have a 7 day cruise to use it on.It is from an earlier cruise that carnival cancelled and offered us if we rebooked in a certain time. I am surprised that some shore excursions are already sold out even though our cruise on the Luminosa is not until Feb 2024. Looking at the cost of the shore excursions the OBC would soon be gone. Cheers John.
  16. I have been reading conflicting reports on using OBC on Carnival before a cruise. On my online planner I can book speciality dinning by placing in the cart. Can I use my OBC before the cruise and before full payment ? Some reports say they will give you the option to use your obc when you place order in the cart and others report that it has been taken from a credit card and others say it was taken from a credit card but then refunded once you have dined. I thought maybe someone who has had experience in this matter could enlighten me. Cheers John.
  17. Any business can refuse cash legally stating to maintain hygiene, ( blame Covid )I think you will find the big supermarkets such as Woolworths,Coles have said they have no plans to ban cash and I believe the big main stores will accept cash. The Gold Coast Council has stated it is now cashless for its council owned swimming pools and other payments. McDonalds.Hungry Jacks. Domino Pizzas are all ok for cash. Good Luck to your daughter and family.I hope they have a good time in the Gold Coast and have a great Cruise. Cheers John.
  18. Good point, I think there are quite a few cruises operating from BICT in Feb 2024. I guess if you are booked in the P1 at least you will get a park even if it is open parking.
  19. Thank you, thats great information. I never even thought about the disembarking passengers leaving the car park ( I really need that cruise 😁 ) The cruise is not until Feb so I was surprised I was able to book the P1 on line so far in advance. Cheers John.
  20. I have booked P1 parking at the BICT and as stated there is no guarantee that you will get an undercover spot ( first come first serve ) at the moment I intend to arrive at 11am. I am interested to know if any of my fellow cruisers have any idea if under cover fills up earlier than that. I will be embarking on the Luminosa so not a large capacity ship so keeping my fingers crossed regarding the parking. I did notice that booking in the P1 allows a 3hr grace period before entering and after leaving the car park so can arrive earlier if needed. I have not received any boarding times as of yet. Cheers John.
  21. I have used the Portside parking many times and can recommend them. They used to do an airport shuttle as well as the Cruise terminal but unfortunately that is no longer, shame because I also found that very useful. Cheers John.
