  1. t - same for us in terms of airlines we are using.... Since it is a ways out, we are prepared for any changes which will happen... LOL bon voyage
  2. Well, maybe if the flight has at least two (2) stops!!! LOL - bon voyage
  3. My experience has been that often times, the crew and staff think I Am in The Retreat, that is until they see my SeaPass... LOL Then they call Security to escort me out.... LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  4. Yes and they are available the night before so you can let your wait staff know what you desire and any changes to that item necessary. bon appetit and bon voyage
  5. To be sure, part of the idea behind The Edge Class is exactly what you experienced. There are many here who either like or dislike this class (and there are many posts to support this accordingly). When you indicated there is a "...lack of bars and lounges.", I thought there were plenty, just differently presented and positioned on The Edge Class. Maybe it is the familiar you crave vs the new, possibly? Nothing wrong with that as there are others who share your view, for sure. bon voyage
  6. I must say that our FBC booking is saving me 50% of the published fare for EWR - BCN, FCO - EWR in business class.... I grabbed them when I saw it. I was also able to reserve seats right away, too, with the understanding that aircraft and schedule changes will most likely take place between now and August 2023... All non-stops on legacy carriers... so not worried about connections. I only wish I could now get similar fares on leaving/returning to PHL... but with fare alerts I may be able to get a great fare from there... time is on our side now. bon voyage
  7. No, or at least not yet on X's website... As far as 'playing' pickleball on any X ship would be governed by what space is suitable for it and IF there are any passengers wanting to use said space as originally intended... bon voyage
  8. I do trust that all of us who have concerns about our Sea Pass reflecting the correct package, accordingly... I have had this challenge once or twice in the past and it takes no time to get it changed, especially if you bring a print out showing the package paid and received when booking AND going in an off time at Guest Relations... It gets sorted out, painlessly, IME... Better it is correct upon boarding, yet quickly corrected... Cheers and bon voyage
  9. m - thank you for the nice comment... I have been around and not posted much with a lot going on in my world, currently. I would venture to say it is carelessness on the agents part and their not listening closely to the question. Cheers and bon voyage
  10. ... or could it be the timing of when they receive them, possibly??? Just a thought and thank you, bon voyage
  11. m - only you know for sure, yet will the 'investigation' be a good use of vacation time? At this juncture, will it matter in the total scheme of things, if you do the investigation, please make sure you have a cross section of staff in each specialty dining facility to gauge the range of responses, if there are in fact, differences. bon appetit and bon voyage
  12. Personally, methinks that is an issue concerning the Rep you spoke to rather than X. Does the Rep require some additional training, of course and one can call X to point this out based on the experience. Yet to 'categorically' blame X for this, may be a bit out of the park, do you not think??? I do understand the concern, regardless, yet at X's website it is clear what is what concerning the beverage packages and I would have done a quick calculation to know the 'ball park' of what to expect in terms of cost before calling in. If the price did not sound correct, then there would be additional questioning just to make sure there would not later surprizes, if it mattered that much to me. That is just me, though, and a few others I Am sure. Yet, it sounds like you may be new to X and do not yet fully understand the pricing and gratuities added to packages. Cheers and bon voyage
  13. Do you have reason to believe or direct knowledge that the SC does not go to the staff to some degree or is this speculation??? bon appetit and bon voyage
  14. In this case, the math will be easy... Take your current fare, to that add the 'current' cost of each amenity in AI as if you were going to purchase them separately, at a later date... The current cost will be: classic beverage package = $82.80/day (includes grats); basic wifi = $20/day; gratuities = $17.50/day pp (I used veranda rates since you did not indicate which level of cabin you are in) total = $120.30/day per person. Now multiply the number of days you will be sailing to $120.30 and that will give you an good idea as to how much it will cost adding in separately. I know that adding these items in separately will cost you more than upfront and included. Good luck and bon voyage
  15. Someone here may have done this once and for one time only. What happens if she decides that a second drink is in order on a particular day? Seems like you have yet to sail X, there are cameras recording our activities. What many of us will advocate for is if she is not a drinker, purchase as she wants one, very economical that way. Cheers and bon voyage
  16. Thank you for posting this, often times many of us do not read at the point of service, especially when we do not read it on the web site, so we go with our 'interpretation 'of how it works. This is not to say that X cannot do a better job of using larger type, as many of us have not gotten our cataracts removed yet!!!! LOL Bon Appétit and bon voyage
  17. For those of us who have 'severe' allergies or specific dietary 'desires/needs' or just prefer the same wait/serving staff we like, we can always let the hostess/host know the desire to sit at the same 'station' that appeals to us. On our last Summit sailing, even though, once, we were sat in an adjacent section from our original wait/serving group the group who was to serve us allowed the original ones to take care of us, including the beverage person and sommelier. So, essentially, it will not be a problem just let the hostess/host know where and whom you prefer to be with (for whatever reason) and they will make it happen... especially if you eat around the same time each night they will know to expect you and try to save a table for your immediate use. bon appetit and bon voyage
  18. No, it can only be done via phone to X to get the discount. Cheers and bon voyage
  19. Personally, I would have booked a refundable fare then make the transfer, as it would have been only for a short period. Yet, I do understand your thinking, regardless. As stated before, best option is to cancel your booking and re-book with your TA, it is the most economical way and it sounds like you will come way ahead of the game, as it were... bon voyage
  20. Hello all - thank you for pointing out my errors... LOL Much appreciated, for sure. The corrections are as follows: 29 Aug UA #120 EWR - BCN B767-400ER NS 1905 - 0900 (+1) 14 Sep BA #551 FCO - LHR AB A320 0805 - 0950 BA #0185 LHR - EWR B777 1100 - 1350* * - in LHR the arrival and departure terminal is five (5), the time between seems it might be an issue for the connection there. Second Choice airport closer to home (looking for better pricing on this route) 29 Aug AA #742 PHL - BCN B787-8 NS 14 Sep AA #719 FCO - PHL B787-8 NS @6rugratsI prefer PHL because it is much closer to home for us, the difference in fare is, currently, $1,250 pp. I will keep checking fares, though as there is enough time to book. I have initially booked through Flights By Celebrity. Thank you all for your insight and input... bon voyage
  21. Hello all, as a follow up, I Am currently booked in Business Class as follows: 29 Aug UA #120 EWR - BCN B767-400ER NS 1905 - 0900 (+1) 14 Sep BA #551 ROM - LON AB A320 0805 - 0950 BA #0185 LON-EWR B777 1100 - 1350* * - in LON the arrival and departure terminal is five (5), the time between seems it might be an issue for the connection there. Second Choice airport closer to home (looking for better pricing on this route) 29 Aug AA #742 EWR - BCN B787-8 NS 14 Aug AA #719 ROM - EWR B787-8 NS Thoughts about the sectors, service, class of service on the airlines in play currently??? I do understand that all of these plans will change, yet will not know the extent until it happens... LOL TIA and bon voyage
  22. ft - you will have to admit that the ambiance is very different between the two locations... LOL bon voyage
  23. Sometimes a few of us forget what reason really means!!! LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  24. Hello all - My question is about mixing class of service on UA the following non-stop flights using FBC: 29 Aug 23 EWR - BCN UA 120 (Boeing 767-400ER) Business Class 15 Sep 23 ROM - EWR UA 41 (Boeing 777-200) Business Class My question is, due to pricing I Am considering booking Premium Economy for the return flight.... As these are the only non-stops I could currently find, is this a good move do you think for saving quite a few bucks? I do understand that planes and schedules will most likely change between now and then to one degree or another, yet in a perfect world this will remain the same!!! LOL Thank you for your input and recommendations. bon voyage
  25. s87 - I would wonder how many other passengers were using similar intensive programs on the system which may have slowed it down as well... While I did not read other posts yet, to know what others may have recommended. Next sailing, will it be possible for you to schedule such meetings when in a port and have access to a hot spot? bon voyage
