  1. We were one the Oasis earlier this month. Chefs Table was the same menu we had on Ovation the past two times. They do need to change this more often, or at least let the head chef do his own menu.
We also had a bad experience in Chops on Oasis, the restaurant full; one waiter in charge of 26 customers, we had to wait forever, and they still tried to get more people in. If we are paying extra, then it should be spot on every time.

We had Andrei in March on Symphony.  He was great. As for requests we have never sailed on Quantum Class I can’t think of anything specific.

If you have a Glacier viewing day, see if you can be in the North Star for a different view point. If they did it, it would not be for the entire time, it could be rainy/foggy, and you wouldn’t get the sound of calving glaciers but in May that might not happen. Knowing RC, there could also be an up charge for this being Star Class or not. Snacks, and hot chocolate on your balcony while glacier viewing is always wonderful.

Enjoy Alaska, we have been 3 times and will return again.

    Hi A&L_Ont

  3. Hi, I am sailing on Ovation on the 24th of May 2019 on the Alaska cruise. We are lucky enough to be going to Star Class. Our genie is Andrei Stoica. Has anyone had any experiences with him and what should I be requesting.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Allan is fantastic.  We had him a couple of times on Oasis when he was a concierge.  We caught up to him again on Anthem as a genie.  Unfortunately, Allen was not our genie for that trip and had Jay who was a dud.

About to sail now on Symphony today.  Met genie Marla earlier.  I think we will be in great hands with her

We had Marla back in September, she was great. Say Hi to her from John, Pikky, Rob and A. took great care.

    Enjoy

I think you will find the bathrooms small and a long walk down the hallway. If the price was good I’d say yes, but I bet your 2 suites next to one another is a better “deal”. With specialty dining not ranking as high for you that could/would be considered a “loss”.

Andy, for some reason I don’t think you’d have as more fun than you are now and a greater cost. However, if that’s what the ladies want make them happy. 😉

I stayed in the same room on SOS back in September. It has a great balcony, good for room service breakfast and looking at the Acra show. The bathrooms are small compared to other suite rooms. The Geni service was just the best.

  6. Hi John! Marla is AMAZING!!! Her communication is definitely spectacular! When we were getting closer to our cruise I would email her frequently late at night (11pm-midnight CST). Many times she would answer within 1/2 - 1 hour. I swear she doesn't sleep!

Once on the ship she shined even more :) We had a group of 6 in a 2BR aquatheater suite, my husband and I and 4 mid 20 year olds. Our family absolutely adored her and we are still in contact. I messaged with her briefly a couple weeks ago. We are Star Class on the upcoming TA and hoping to have her again as our Genie.

I am sure you will enjoy Marla as much as we did! Tell her hi from Amy & Dan!

Many thanks for the info, I will certainly pass your regards on.

    John :D
