  1. Is someone familiar with how the day goes on the Endeavour? Is there a pre-dinner meeting for all guests, and if so, what time? Is there entertainment in the evenings, and if so what time? I ask because our two previous Silversea cruises handled the evenings very differently. When we were on the Moon, we made our reservations for the specialty restaurants, included and extra, using timeslots. When we were on the Origin, we made reservations for the Grill by date (but were able to just walk up and ask for a table, too). On the Origin, everyone met pre-dinner in the lounge for the meeting about the next day's activities, and then went to dinner afterward. The Moon had a theater and 9pm? 9:30pm? shows. There was a pianist on the Origin, but we were always too tired to go to the lounge after dinner. Very soon I have to make dining reservations for our Greenland cruise on the Endeavour. I want to know if we need to take expedition team meetings or other special events into account when we make our dinner plans, and if we'll want to be done with dinner by a certain time so as to be able to attend entertainment. I'm sure that the Arctic cruises will have the same general schedule as the Antarctic cruises, so people who've been on those, please share your experiences. Thanks in advance!
  2. No. Regent doesn't run expedition cruises, and parkas tend to be handed out for expedition cruises.
  3. They do have turkey (first time we were there, our daughter wasn't a red-meat eater), but there is no reason to stand in line for anything but the smoked meat. And get the medium-fat version.
  4. Hear Hear! We have a cruise leaving from Montreal later this year, and added an extra day just so we could be sure and get to Schwartz!
  5. The cancellation day and time is written on the tour ticket. This doesn’t help if your tour is very early in the cruise but it does help for later tours.
  6. Info on ancillary items cancellation is on page 2 of your Guest statement. That’s the PDF titled Guest_<name><booking number>.pdf
  7. It would be easier to do it on a laptop, but these days I only travel with tablet and phone. The radio buttons go quickly, but typing longer comments is a pain. DP doesn’t do theirs, so I do it for them if I have time and inclination.
  8. It's even worse than you think. There is no email link to the survey. You have to go to a specific website to fill out the survey. You need your seven seas society number to create an account. Then you log in and do the survey on that website. That website is only accessible on board. The URL for the special website is listed in the Passages newsletter starting maybe three days before the end of the cruise. It's in one of the picture "ads" in Passages. You have to type it in by hand. Regent would be hard-pressed to make it any more difficult to do the end-of-cruise survey. (I still haven't figured out if my SSS-associated survey account sticks around once I created it, or if I have to create a new account for every cruise.)
  9. Best times for Aurora are between the two equinoxes (Sept thru March), so early Sept is possible. You can check sunrise/sunset for your location at timeanddate.com to see how much actual dark you'll have. Of course, Tromso will have a better chance than Oslo.
  10. This! We really enjoyed our Regent extensions in South America, which included great hotels, internal flights, and skilled guides. We signed up for the Gorah/Long Lee Safari for January 2026, anticipating another great extension. A great point, and we will consider it.
  11. Thank goodness! We are on Mariner in November, and I have been waiting to see them!
  12. Our experience with the penthouse suites on Splendor (Dec/Jan 2023/24) is that they are not laid out as nicely as the Superior/Concierge suites (Dec 2022). That wall between the bedroom and the living room breaks up the flow and makes for narrow spaces. Plus there aren't as many usable drawers -- the bedside ones are very shallow and there aren't as many available in the living area -- and there are only shelves next to one of the sinks in the bathroom. Keep in mind that many fewer people use the guest laundry now that Regent provides laundry services to all. I can't help you there, but given my experience with the two types of suites, I'd stay with the concierge suite.
  13. No, but the RSO on the Splendor was terrific! At least it was in Dec/Jan for our cruise.
  14. They automatically bring antipasti. We have requested that they not, or only bring the bruschetta. Otherwise we fill up on the antipasti and have no room for the main course. You can see a sample menu here: https://www.rssc.com/experience/cuisine/sette-mari. We get there at about 6:20 for the first seating. If the weather is good, we love sitting outside.
  15. The big brunch is only on sea days Sundays. Every Sunday there is caviar and champagne in La Veranda and Compass Rose. It's not on every sea day Sunday. We had a sea day Sunday on Splendor in January, and there was no big brunch. No big brunch at all on that 21-day cruise, which was a bit disappointing.
  16. Re the mushroom soup (which I agree is wonderful) -- if you know you want it, and it's not on the menu, ask for it 24 hrs in advance from the Maitre D'. If they can make it for you, they likely will.
  17. On the Splendor in December there was a caviar for sale menu in our Penthouse C suite. I suspect you can ask for that menu and order from it even at the lower suite levels.
  18. There is a lot of space in the Superior/Concierge suites on the Explorer/Splendor, and I assume Grandeur. I like layouts better in those than in Penthouse suites on the newer ships. There are definitely more usable and convenient drawers, and there are shelves next to both sinks in the bathroom. The living room area is very big and mostly empty. Ask for an extra chair when you board.
  19. Maybe not the form, but definitely check with Destination Svcs when on board. Do what they recommend.
  20. Debarkation times are controlled by Destination Services. Be sure to arrange with them if you want to be off the ship early, or you might find yourself at the end of the line. They distribute a form during the cruise to deal with debarkation. If you don't get one (sometimes they forget to give one to people who aren't taking Regent transfers), ask when you see the collection box on the counter.
  21. Not just hand written, but block printed, which always trips me up. Are they trying to machine-read them? Or is it just to protect the eyeballs of the poor person who has to compile them all?
  22. Is there a guest laundrette on the Endeavour? I looked at the deck plans and couldn't find one. If not, is there anyone who can post a laundry price list? We're on a 10-day cruise with a 50-lb luggage weight limit and need to pack winter clothing. We're gonna need to do some laundry on board one way or another.
  23. Happily, the problem is now fixed. I just called RSSC to update some shore excursions, and not only was I connected immediately, the (extremely helpful, competent and friendly) agent was able to apply that Gold credit to all my upcoming cruises! And she found some extra $200 credit that I wasn't aware of for one of the cruises! This is obviously someone who knows how to work the system. Thank you, agent S!
  24. Sure, for the cruise where I Gold-ed, But I'm Gold now. Why can't I get it applied to the upcoming already booked cruises before boarding now that we're Gold?
