18, 16, 13.  They could I just think they wouldn’t.  I think they would prefer room service, TBH!  :classic_biggrin:  I should have not phrased it like I did.  want us to dress smartly and eat together every night in a nice restaurant.  The ability to do that is a huge benefit to cruising for me.

(And my kids are amazingly sweet and polite.  However, from some of the posts here on CC, I know some HAL customers get nervous by anyone under 25 years old.   Can you imagine a 3 top of TEENS?! 😂 [joking, people!!])

Thanks for responses!  I am fairly certain HAL will accommodate.  I just didn’t know if someone had experience with this particular situation.  I will add post giving update upon our return.

When my teens and their friends went, there were 9 of them ages 13-16 they said it was so much fun, the staff really looked after them, made them feel grown up.

"Safest" approach would be to call HAL and ask - IMO it's wise to get answers to questions such as yours from the party (HAL) that "controls" the outcome.

We did send off an email, but we have seen numerous times on CC what head office says and what happens on the ships are sometimes not on the same page. Just like the SBP the agents on the phone are  adamant you get 15 drinks total, where many on the board are reporting on different ships they get unlimited non alcoholic drinks and 15 alcoholic drinks are counted.

  3. I’m looking for some recent experiences with the drink packages. A few months back people were reporting that you get unlimited non alcoholic drinks like the quench package and 15 alcoholic drinks, even though HALs website says 15 drinks total. Also it might be ship specific how they interpret the policy. We are going on the neuiw Amsterdam, I was wondering anyone has any recent feedback.

They know how to make a Caesar?

    Lime wedge
    Celery salt to taste
    Salt to taste
    1 1/4 oz vodka
4 oz Clamato (clam & tomato juice taste better then it sounds)
    Pepper to taste
    4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
    3 dash hot sauce
    Celery stalk

    1. Rim a highball glass with lime and then celery salt.
    2. Fill glass with ice, add salt and pepper, vodka and Clamato juice.
    3. Season with Worcestershire and hot sauce. Stir.
    4. Garnish with celery stalk and lime.

Servers don't know all the ingredients in every food item on a menu and it would be unrealistic to expect them to know.  With regards to the Kitchen I don't know how they would connect the order to your Son and his allergy when the dessert could have been ordered by someone at your Table who does not have the allergy.  It would have only taken a few seconds for your Son (or you) to ask the Server if there were nuts in the Cobbler.  If the Server didn't know the answer, he would have confirmed it with the Kitchen.

On Disney if a person makes it known they have an allergy, their order is ran through a computer to match if there is anything in it.

  6. We felt the same on the same ship about allergies. We sailed over Easter, our daughter who is allergic to food dyes ( not life threatening but she get horrible hives for days after an exposurer) we did note it before the cruise, and every time she ordered something. Mostly it’s the sauces in desserts and drinks where we found it but even making note to please not put the sauce on the plate, it still came out with the sauces more then not. Our previous cruises have all been with Disney and they had gone over backwards to make sure things were dye free.

Is that price $7 per day per person, or $7 per day per cabin?  How large is the daily bag vs the $20 bag?

It was per cabin, you have to book it for your complete cruise. We have already precooked it for March for $49 for the week for the 4 of us all in.

  8. We went on the Veendam last Easter, there were about 150 kids, ( 80 teenagers) we are going over spring break on the nieuw amsterdamwith our teens this coming March. I know HAL has an older demographic but can we expect around the same amount for spring break as Easter? The kids had a great time with the other teens they met.

We loved it, with good planning, we did not pack as many clothes!  Rolling is the answer, you can stuff lots more in that bag by rolling everything.  I've been debating this time on a 10-day cruise, should I do $7 a day for 10 days and we are covered, or $20 a bag 2-3 times?

For us having 4 of us in the cabin, It was worth it, I’m not sure if it would have been worth it for just my husband and I
