Oops! I swapped the east/west bound designations. Hopefully that didn't confuse anyone -
Which Port - Panama Canal Cruise on R/C
RobInMN replied to TS Von's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Looking up Panama Canal cruises, RC has 4 listed. 2 on Radiance, and 2 on Serenade. Both east bound Spring '25 cruises end in Los Angeles Both west bound Fall '25 cruises start in San Diego So if you have a preference on direction/season, then you have no port choice. I'd base it on dates, itineraries, and cruise length. Same class ships, Radiance is the oldest, Serenade had some UWC upgrades. -
So those welcome drinks when you get onboard…
RobInMN replied to trotzoll's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The welcome drink that I remember, that being the glass of sparkling wine, was just offered to every adult as they stepped aboard the ship via the Promenade. They didn't take room numbers or anything, there was no charge. But again that was back in like 2006. I also remember the after dinner shots. They would just walk around with trays of them to sell. Different shot each night. They were so good. You can still get them if you ask. Our last cruise on Radiance (the PC), we did that once, and was told if we used a drink voucher, we could keep the shot glass, so we did. Those same ones with the colored dots and the square base. -

I think this question calls for @ONECRUISER, but I am positive that when we boarder Mariner in 2006, that bar staff greeted everyone with trays of champagne (maybe mimosas also?) as we entered the ship via the Promenade. Pretty sure this happened on another cruise too, but can't remember which one that would have been. But yes, it's been a very long time since they've done this. -

Moving up a tier during a cruise
RobInMN replied to pinkie1's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The one exception is Pinnacle. They are recognized on the cruise that they earn it on, however, as I understand it, other than a bottle of champagne, they don't get any of the additional benefits until the next cruise. 🙂 -
Any time between submitting the bid up until 8 PM embarkation day (all though at that point, its essentially 100% your bid was denied).

OP didn't say what email address they were told to use, but if it wasn't mbayley@rccl.com, I would suggest sending an email there also. @Surf-and-Turf, that is Michael Bayley's office, and if anyone can make it happen, his team can. -
Good tip!

While some bars may have cans, they aren't that common are they? Most bars will just use the beverage gun or 2 liters. This hasn't come up for me too often so not sure.

Your title and description don't really match. What immediately comes to mind for "non-Alcohol" is the "Refreshment" package. What you seem to be asking about is the soda package. However, the Refreshment Package also includes the cup. The cups are no longer in the cabins, you ask for them at the first bar you wander to when you board. As @smokeybandit said, you do not have to use the cup, in fact, if the ship doesn't have the Coke Freestyle machine, the cup is almost pointless. The cup is required at the Coke Freestyle machines, but every bar and restaurant including the MDR and WJ will just give you a glass of soda/pop. Your options are very limited though.

We've done GTY once and it was for a Suite GTY. It's for our upcoming cruise on Odyssey in a few weeks. Coincidently or not, we were assigned our room (JS) the morning that we also got our cruise documents at the 30 day mark. Now the cruise was listed as sold out for at least 3 weeks prior to that, so maybe that's why it happened when it did

Voyager Fall 2025 Sailing Canceled

There's some people and organizations that I think you can blame, it's just not RCI 😉 We'll see in about 5 weeks whether there's any hope for the situation to improve. -
Voyager Fall 2025 Sailing Canceled
RobInMN replied to robmtx's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It's not that your cruise itself is close to the danger, the issue is that the next cruise after yours was the 14 night Rome to Dubai that goes through the Suez Canal. This is followed by a 14 night Dubai to Singapore. The Rome to Dubai is probably also cancelled (it's been removed) as I assume they are rerouting to a long-way-round Africa that needs longer than the allotted 14 nights. Probably as a non-revenue. The Dubai to Singapore also appears cancelled, as it has also been removed. I'm a little surprised that they are making this decision nearly a year out. -
I am sure this will be moved to the Gulf Coast Departures board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/316-gulf-coast-departures/ This question is a very common one, and I'll second @KEG21552's suggestion of Galveston Saltwater Moms (a very common answer). If you don't do Facebook (like me), if you search for posts from me there, you'll find alternative contacts (email/phone). On our return, we had a late flight, so we did the RC Houston Space Center airport transfer as we'd never done that before. It was cool and we had a good time.

Are multi-port usb chargers banned
RobInMN replied to PattyW's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Technically, correct. But if you search "outlet", you will always get references to regular line-voltage AC current outlets. USB's and other DC connections are pretty much always referred to as "ports". -

RobInMN replied to PattyW's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes, that is correct. This is what the FAQ says and what it was updated to. I was pointing out that in the other thread (I wish the admins would merge this), the new twist on this discussion is whether or not they are going to limit USB chargers to 4 ports or not. One RC twitter/x social media manager indicated that a single 110/220V plug was limited to 4 USB ports. But then another said that even without the 110/220V, the adaptor/charger was limited to 4 also. So now this is being discussed. Hence my point that it doesn't make any logical sense to limit USB by port count. Totally wattage maybe, but not port count. BTW, the one I travel with has 7, and 260W total. -
We have two CPAP's - have you sailed recently?
RobInMN replied to zebra's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Your "interpretation" of the new rule could be giving the OP the wrong information. It's not what RC is saying, and not what the responses on X/Twitter from their social media managers are saying. Nor does it agree with the updated RC FAQ. While in practice, you could be absolutely right, and it would be no problem. But I think it's better for the OP to have the full story and they can make up their own mind. -

RobInMN replied to PattyW's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Follow the other thread. That was the initial indication, and what logic and electrical engineering* would tell you, but the crack RC Social Media team says no. That any/all multi-port USB chargers are limited to 4 USB ports regardless of the existence of a 110/220V outlet. But then again, last week 2 different social media managers gave opposing responses on an adaptor like the OP had as their first picture. 1 110v plus 3 USB ports. One said it was banned, the other said it was fine. *When it comes to any possible USB limit, it makes no sense to limit port count, you'd have to limit the overall watts. Is a 55W charger that can charge up to 3 worse that a single 100W charger? -

RobInMN replied to PattyW's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Agreed. 65W is enough for my Surface, but yes, I think some of these gaming laptops need/prefer 100W
