  1. I so agree with you. Having been there twice on a cruise (2nd time we stayed on board) I have no desire to go back. I have often wondered if there is some part of Gibraltar, that we’ve not seen, which is so much nicer after speaking to some 😏
  2. I have received a response from Viking (UK) today and they acknowledge that: “We are aware of isolated instances of improper conduct from service animals and their owners in our public areas on board on of our ocean vessels, and this has been addressed internally.” ’….guests travelling with a service animal are required to provide the appropriate documentation to support their request, which is reviewed by our Senior Management Team prior to approval. Requests for pets or emotional support animals are denied, as per our policy on the matter.’ They added that they are confident that all aspects of our on board experience, on our upcoming 2 cruises will be entirely to our satisfaction. Let’s hope so🤞
  3. My husband who’s a keen golfer always says Golf Clubs, here in UK anyway, give guidance & categorise jeans as ‘having pockets stitched on the outside’ & those trousers clearly don’t.
  4. So basically am I correct in saying that they are implying that the passengers on that cruise who reported various instances on CC which occurred on Viking Star were at best exaggerating - at worst lying/hallucinating and/or doctoring photographs?
  5. Yes I’m with UK too but pay £10 for an ‘add on’ for unlimited calls & txts & some data when abroad - this ‘add on’ lasts a month.
  6. That was one of my main concerns and included it in my email to Viking - which I’m still waiting for an acknowledgment/response to.
  7. I’ve had a look around in relation to rules re cruises going from and around Europe but can’t seem to find much apart from the previous poster who forwarded us to P&O’s rules. seems it’s more about individual cruise lines policy. I have found this in relation to bringing pets into UK You can enter or return to Great Britain with your pet cat, dog or ferret if it: has been microchipped. has a pet passport or health certificate. has been vaccinated against rabies - it will also need a blood test if you're travelling from an country that is not 'listed' I too think it’s more to do with cruises departing from US and think that it’s maybe put the nail in the coffin for our plans to do Panama Canal - FL To LA for Christmas 2024 😤
  8. Thank you - Brings back wonderful memories of Venice at night😀
  9. This rewritten/reworded policy could be a logistical nightmare for Viking in respect of passengers who have already paid their account balance and are expecting to take their ESA dogs with them - especially if they’re due to travel in the near future.
  10. Yes - How are they going to ensure that😏
  11. Am I missing something here? The dogs I have seen via the photographs from Viking Star bear no resemblance to ‘Service Dogs’ I am used to seeing in the UK. Are service dogs in the US often small toy dogs e.g. Pekingese?
  12. Excellently worded letter which states the case very clearly 👏
  13. My concern is how can Viking tell passengers they cannot bring dogs onboard if Karina Hagen travels with hers - no matter how well they behave?
  14. I’ve sent 2 emails and am yet to receive an acknowledgement - Andy, you must hold some sway in the upper echelons of Viking 😂
  15. Interesting - yes I think those regs would put pay to all the dogs travelling on Viking. Going to check out if it’s the same for rest of EU
  16. If only I could say the same about my husband 😂😂
  17. Great - the more the merrier👍
  18. Thank you from me as well - needs a few more responsible passengers like yourself to voice their objections.
  19. I’ve forwarded another email to Viking attaching the photo above. I’m really incensed by this. When I say final fling it’s because a) it involves long haul flights, my husband is getting older (9 years difference between us), flying even short haul is becoming a chore with the state of airlines/airports & b) we’ll maybe run out of money with the cost of Viking cruises 😂😂
  20. Hi Lorna - I was thinking (and selfishly hoping) this myself as our next 2 cruises are from Europe! Still disappointing though as we were thinking of having a final fling with a Panama Canal - Ft Lauderdale to LA for Christmas 2024. We’ll see what Viking.com comes back & also what our next cruise in September is like.
  21. And yet they’re there - I can’t believe the 2 dogs we saw in photos provided were either ‘seeing eye’ or ‘hearing dogs 😱
  22. I have contacted my travel agent this morning who in turn has contacted Viking - albeit Viking UK. They have stated that Emotional Support Dogs are not allowed on board, only seeing and hearing trained dogs. They added that they are aware of the current issue and are investigating, particularly in respect of one ship!! I have also emailed Tellus@vikingcruises.com and await their response.🤞
