  1. Thanks everyone for the replies. I didn’t want to pack a bunch of stuff I didn’t need. I was hoping it was more relaxed because we are thinking of doing the Voyager out of San Juan with no sea days. The thought of dressing up every night for dinner was making me wonder if I should pick a different cruise. I’ve done many Carnival cruises but nothing is grabbing my attention this year so I’m branching out.

  2. The ship is beautiful.  I’m platinum with Carnival and really liked the new layout.  Not having Guys next to the pool really eliminated the cluster that always happened there at lunch. There were many stations at lido buffet so it flowed well too.

We had ocean suite 9461. We loved the location. Just turn the corner at aft elevators and we were there.  No noise from hallway except occasional kid running. Easy down to Summers Landing for ice cream or breakfast. Something to be aware of, the balcony is open to all the other balconies over it. This also means limited shade during the day.  The bean bag game is under the balcony so no loungers there and usually quiet. One day there was a bean bag challenge so there were a bunch of people gathered right below. See pics. On day 3 music was playing all day into the next morning. You couldn’t hear it in the cabin at all but made it hard for sitting on the balcony and reading or listening to the ocean.  It was coming from the speakers along the rail on deck 8.  I called at 630AM to see if it was going to always be on. I was told unless it could be heard in the cabin, nothing would be done.  The music continued to play that day but I didn’t notice it anymore after that.  Maybe others complained too. I’ll include the video of the cabin but it is a bit fast moving. I wouldn’t be against booking this room again but would prefer to find a balcony that is a bit more private.

‘Three of us had negative Covid test and completed verify. That made check in easy for us. My husband was using a positive Covid test as his document of recovery per Carnival’s website. The agent asked for his doctor’s letter of recovery. I said the website says document of recovery is the positive test between 10 and 90 days prior. She said we are required to provide letter.  I pulled up Carnival website and showed her. She left for about 20 min then said she got an approval to go ahead.

Another thing I wanted to mention, I would avoid booking over the white roof that is to the left in the when looking out the balcony. That white was just glaring in the sun. I think it would make for a bad view between the blocking the view down and the brightness.

  3. Sorry for the broken up email on those last four pics.  For some reason when I screenshot that email on my iPad, I can’t get it to post.  It fails to upload each time so I did it from my phone.

I was disappointed that this happened, but I learned my lesson.  I won’t be paying in advance for an excursion unless it’s through the cruise line.  From reading the email from Ed it sounds like someone has purchased the business because it says they can’t deduct my money from his future payments without his permission. Wording is strange.  Good luck if you decide to go.  It looks like a fun excursion.

I did not see it directly under Excursions.  The first item at the very top of the Cruise Manager opening page is a link for Categories.  Scroll down and one of the last choices is Faster to the Fun.

Thank you so much for posting. I had been checking frequently under the excursions area but it didn’t show up at all.  I just checked categories then FTTF and there it was available for purchase.

  5. Just a heads up, if you booked and paid for an excursion thru Ken Gerber, he is no longer in business according to an email I received. I cancelled my May excursion and cruise a few days before Carnival officially cancelled.  My work had a new rule requiring a 14 day quarantine for any nurse traveling out of the country.  I contacted Aruba Bob and we agreed on a 50% cancellation fee.  I contacted him again in April when I did not receive a credit back for the other half.  He replied he could not return my money at this time but I could rebook the excursion for another time. Can I dispute a charge against a company that is no longer in business?  I had travel insurance too but not sure if that would cover this situation.

For major lines, out of San Juan, Freedom of the Seas and Empress of the Seas have a 6 ports/no sea days routes. Depends on timing. For FOS I found them through the end of November. For EOS it looks like it begins in November and found them as late as next April. They also have 5 port routes, along with Carnival Fascination and Enchantment of the seas. I could be missing some others. There are also the smaller, more luxury cruise lines with 6 ports. I'm looking at November cruises and will likely do a 5 or 6 port cruise if it works out.

Thanks so much for that.  We mainly cruise Carnival but I may need to branch out.  I love no sea days.

I have not read all the responses, but we are planning on doing a Southern Caribbean one next year.  It is FULL of ports, one being my favorite, St. Lucia.  I have never done a 7 day where there were 6 ports.  The good part, we have been to most of them, so we will probably stay on the ship! 🙂

Please tell me which ship and date are you sailing with 6 ports.  We did one previously and would love to do another.  Here is a link to my review of our 6 port sailing on the

  8. I’ve had a Ricardo two wheel case for 15 ish years.  Eventually bought a Ricardo 4 wheel spinner and love it.  Easier to maneuver usually, but occasionally depending on the carpet, I have to lay it back and use as a two wheel.  Also bought my stepdaughter a 4 wheel spinner for Christmas two years ago and she loves it.  I’m going to attach a photo because it is so pretty.
