  1. Odd. I got them on the Emerald 5/27-6/1-6/17 but then the Captain retired 6/17/23. Glad to hear that they relented on your voyage
  2. So still priority boarding. Thought maybe @Triger had discovered a change enacted this month ... (haven't cruised since Nov / Dec 2023 and things change all the time)
  3. That's so disappointing! Must be a new 2024 change as I had priority boarding in November as well as priority disembarkation lounge in December. Will definitely miss that perk in April. (All greens checked in together but then to different lounges based on status until ship ready for embarkation .... so fast) OTOH I prefer the new modified laundry perk: they still do mine BUT I can also do it myself on their free tokens. Only takes an hour total while I enjoy breakfast on my balcony (cold wash, cooler dry, no damage from rollers moving it along)
  4. FIRST & FOREMOST I AM NOT UPSET BY YOUR QUESTIONING BUT: It is in the TAs best interest for you to buy it now. But the onboard accountant will (as recently as 12-8-23) lump all refundable obc together and nonrefundable obc together. Purchasing Plus onboard is just a charge against that. They will charge against your nonrefundable OBC first. Once that is exhausted they will charge against the refundable. As I stated this is how it was last month. New month / new year / but my best guess is the TAs are wrong. Might I suggest that you go to ANY current sailing and inquire if there's been a dramatic change as of yesterday. Here's one:
  5. OMG we are finally on the same ship!! You've helped me out so much on past cruises embarking from Southampton. In fact I found my favorite dive due to you (Dancing Man Brewery). Anyway I'm pretty sure it was you! As long as I can get fresh air, I'm good
  6. Yeah @cujosmom. Sometimes PCL is unaware of what Ocean Medallion Fulfillment Center is up to. Breaking it down: 1. You will not be billed the $10 until the medallion ships 2. You will remain in the Blue Lane until you approve Shoreside transactions BUT you do not need to use the medallion to shop on land. I've read that they ask if you have medallion in hand not if you're Green or Blue when embarking. So if you have your medallion go to the Green Line 3. There isn't anyone to call Adding: no one asked me for my QR Code just to see my medallion but I haven't embarked under the new app. Last cruise Nov - Dec 2023
  7. @tricks79 welcome to Cruise Critic and yeah, often the 1800Princess ppl are a little clueless. I can state with 100% certainty that the entire bar staff will try to get you to use your OBC to add Plus to your profile as soon as you step onboard. Also there is no distinction between TA (Priceline) and Princess OBC. Only between refundable and nonrefundable, with nonrefundable used first. As to whether PCL is planning another increase in Plus cost, your guess is as good as mine 😕
  8. Love room service breakfast on the balcony once in a while But I only do laundry if on the ship more than a week
  9. Put in washer while still in robe. Back to shower & dress. (30 min) Then put in dryer. Back to coffee & the Morning Show. (35 min) A few minutes to hang up or toss in closet.
  10. Sounds like a better idea than the current 'entry ticket into bonus drawing for each purchase over $100' program. Maybe the 'powers that be' will add that as both HAL & PCL are the same branch in CC, aren't they?
  11. Random thoughts inserted in red
  12. @Papa Yoda & @jagoffee Princess charges shoreside merchants 17% per shoreside merchants.
  13. Suggest (not that they care) reinstating loyalty obc but based on days not cruises starting with 200 days (was 21 cruises). Steps to be: 200 = 25 obc 300 = 50 obc 400 = 75 obc 500 = 100 obc (etc)
  14. On no I get that. It's just that corporate wants 10% (17% from stores - 7% rebate to pax = 10% net princess) from all on shore purchases involving the app. Anyway that's what Independent stores in the ports state & why would they lie? They lose 17% to Princess or 3% to the credit card services. Anyway, I'm bowing out of this.
  15. What elite line? Theres just green & blue now. There is an elite lounge if you get thru before boarding but not until then.
  16. Hey Judy I'm green on all 3 upcoming cruises.
  17. They can call themselves "Dumb Squats from He!!" for all I care if I don't have to stand in that stupid line and either pay off the remainder of my onboard acct in cash or get back the unused cash deposit I made to stay out of the Princess auto-charge status. Not at all worried about some Princess affiliated company doing unauthorized charges as its easy enough to handle on land. And yes, when I requested/paid to have my medallion shipped they charged me You do you, I'm green
  18. Don't they have it anyway as I check out automatically with anything I owe going to my cc?
  19. @TravelingNana @Sea Hag @nazpaz why all this fuss about the Shoreline Transaction function? What am I missing? I can still use my cc instead of charging to my room, the shoreline stores NOT OWNED BY PRINCESS don't have my actual cc# until I present that card, and my card is as safe within both ship & shoreside tab as it would be only within ship tab. What am I missing?? I understand Princess wants me to charge to my room (which is why they want me to authorize shoreside transactions) so they get 10% (17% - 7% to me) but I control access to my card, not them
  20. I am in charge of off-ship purchases. I just used my cc and don't charge to my room
  21. I've not read all 407 posts but my issues are: 1. Harder to view ship as now its not just swipe to move to another floor 2. Omitted Deck 5 MDR which is problematic for me as that's where I'm normally reassigned by HW 3. I will never use shoreside transactions as I resoundingly support small businesses. One of which told me in Ketchikan that he was assessed a whooping 17% fee every time that function was used. I registered my cc for onboard transactions and that's as far as I went. Still green.
  22. Yes BUT in my experience the actual wait staff never seems to know that I've checked that box
  23. If you are trying to use the coupon in the Princess book, you only need to ‘play’ $20, whether you win or lose is not the point of qualifying for the coupon. Sometimes the cashier will not even check if you have gambled at least $20, but you are mistaken believing you need to lose $20 before you can get the $10 free play coupon added . Well then I was right & they were wrong as I played quite a bit but was never down by $20.
  24. @djtx2 inform your waiter on the 1st night that you have a food allergy. They will notified their Head Waiter who will bring the following day's menues and take your order to get the correct food. BTW I also ask to be assigned to that waiter (I'm already assigned to that Head Waiter) so I don't have to explain again. I am not restricted to the MDR but the buffet remains problematic
