Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Our last cruise on the Eclipse in April was terrible too We won't be back!! Not that Celebrity cares.
  2. We have mostly sailed with Celebrity, with a few trips on HA before Covid. Our last Celebrity cruise was out of Sidney this past March and April. It was not a great experience and we wont be back for a cruise with Celebrity anytime soon. We wanted to try HA, and have a August cruise to AK booked. From what I have read about the Koningsdam, we are very excited.
  3. We were thinking the same thing, cleaning out the pantry!!
  4. We had the same MDR food experience on our Eclipse cruise last march out of Sydney. Mast Grill burgers also had that gray color! I through the food might improve once they got back to the USA. Looks like it didn't!
  5. We had the same experience on our B2B Eclipse cruise this past March-April, we were not the only passengers very unhappy! From food to bar service. We just made Elite too.
  6. Yep! Thats what we called our recent Eclipse cruise out of Sydney. B2b cruise and we lost weight! Food was subpar at best. Mast grill burger was grey before being cooked, and grey when cooked! No worries about it being red on the inside!
  7. We did the B2B out of Sydney, March-April. We did the RAT test, took a picture and showed it at the dock before boarding. From my understanding this was a Australian government requirement. When boarding in Sydney for our second leg, a Covid RAT test was waiting in our cabin. In a envelope, with no instructions on how to use. The note did so it was on the Honor system and call medical if you have a positive test. I expect a lot of them went in the trash. The last 4 days of the cruise, Captain was recommending everyone wear masks while inside and not eating or drinking. We came home with Covid.
  8. I would agree the food was hit or miss on our March-April B2B out of Sydney. The second leg of the cruise Covid did show up on board during our last 4 days of our cruise. We were not in a suite or aqua class, so we ate in the MDR, OVC. We have cruise Celebrity many times before Covid, and things have change, but I think all cruise lines are not back to pre-covid conditions, and I never expect them to be. Our cabin 1011 was in very good shape. The ship itself is very clean, but furniture is starting to show wear. Last fall we did a quick cruise on RCL. Food was close to the same.
  9. We just got off the Eclipse. The food was terrible!! MDR or OV, only a few good meals, very hit or miss mostly miss. Maybe because of being out Syndey AU, the suppliers are not up to the standards that Celebrity has set? The Mast grill burger was a grey color mystery meat, went on grey and came off grey! Be awhile before we try Celebrity again.
  10. We were on the Eclipse 2 weeks ago, doing a B2B out of Sydney. We have cruise a lot with Celebrity. This was the first time the food was not up to their standards! We always enjoyed a quick burger at the mast grill. But the burger meat was grey! Didnt look like meat, went on grey and came off grey!! Looked like lots of filler and just a mushy texture even when well done! Did you try one of the burgers from the Mast grill?
  11. We just got off the Eclipse after doing a back-to-back starting March 26 out of Sydney. Food was way bellow Celebrity standards. Doing New Zealand, you would think local. Fresh fish at least! Nope! When asked, the so-called Head Chef came to our table, explained it was a "permit" issue. What? The Hamburger at the mast grill was a gray colored "meat." It went on gray and when cooked it was still gray! It looked like it was full of filler. Our New England clam chowder had nothing in it but was a thick brown sludge! We were not the only ones who did not like the food. Hopefully it is only this ship, and we just got stuck with a bad Galley Depatment.
  12. We are home, so far only my wife has covid. When we left there was a lot of coughing before we left. We did bring a supply of Paxlovid with us for our cruise just in case. We realized she could of pick up the Covid anywhere during our travels home. Safe travels Ken.
  13. We had a lot of 1st time cruisers. Talking with them, this was their 1st trip out since covid started. I can give you an egg and a hot pan, doesn't always mean you will get an omelet.
  14. We just got home from our B2B on the Eclipse. You got on the day we left. The ship was at a tier level 2 for COVID. This is what the Australian government posted. Our last 4 days of our cruise the captain recommended everyone mask up when inside. We got this same letter and when we returned back on board, the test kit was there. But they did not include instructions on how to use the kit. I bet a lot of them went into the trash. Did instructions come with your test kit?
  15. Maybe supply issues while sailing out of Australia?
