Whats more important the Itinerary or the Ship?

Good morning all. I am trying to decide on cruising with the Jewel on the Eastern Caribbean or to cruise with Pride of Hawaii. I have been to the carribean once and just thought it was ok. However, everyone raves about the Jewel. And as far as the Pride of Hawaii goes, Hawaii is always great but apparently the ship is not so great. Can anyone give me advice on how to decide? Thanks for all your help.
