  1. Sorry if I'm being dramatic, but we are scheduled to board tomorrow. My 11 year old son has come down with chicken pox - bumps started yesterday. We're going to the doctor today to confirm it is chicken pox and not hives or swimmers itch, but I'm pretty sure it's chicken pox. He has been vaccinated but I guess there are breakthrough infections. What do I do? Who do I contact? Am I going to lose my cruise fare cancelling the day before the cruise departs? Our whole family is broken up about this as we now need to find a hotel to stay at for a week and hopefully the little guy can fly home next Saturday. Any advice would be appreciated. If someone has a number to contact NCL that would be great. Thanks.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion - I like that idea. My children are fairly young and a fancy sit down breakfast probably isn't the best option. Do any of those hotels have a buffet option where the kids have a little more freedom in what they have for breakfast? Thanks again.
  3. My flight doesn't leave HNL until 3:20pm. I assume we'll be kicked off the POA around 9am (if not earlier). What are some suggestions to do in 3-4 hours before we head to the airport? It'll be for two adults, two children and 4 pieces of luggage. Thanks in advance.
  4. Yeah, that's not that long ago to be honest. I booked June 2021 for our October 2022 cruise. I originally booked an October 2020 cruise in August of 2019. I'm not saying that is why your cruise was cancelled, but I think it's possible. I would say the large majority of people are booking more than 3-4 months out, especially for this cruise.
  5. Do you mind providing some info? Mainly - when did you originally book the cruise? Secondly, what room did you reserve? Third, have you cruised with NCL before? What a crappy situation.
  6. No casino on the POA, so that won't be a consideration. I'm booked in October and can't imagine having the cruise cancelled 10 days out. Crazy.
  7. Are they cancelling the entire cruise, or just limiting the number of guests? If it's just limiting the number of guests, I'd be curious how they decide who gets to stay and who gets cut? First come, first serve? Those who paid the highest fares vs cheapest?
  8. For your stop in Maui, it sounds like you returned the car after Day 1 and rented a new car for Day 2. If so, was there a reason for two rentals? I figure it's cheaper and easier to just rent for two days and park the car overnight in the airport parking. You still have to deal with cabs back and forth each day, but you don't have the hassle of waiting in line on Day 2.
