  1. I am betting it is just as much as the poster insisting on a venue for 450 as well as the fact that the ships are short staffed. If they give you an empty dining room and your people go around sitting at tables, touching tableware, leaving dirty glasses around, etc., the entire room has to be reorganized/cleaned afterwards. And honestly, having been invited to M&Gs before, most people will be enthusiastic and say they will come beforehand but once on the ship find something they would rather do with their time, or if they do show it is only for a few minutes to see if there is anything free and then they leave. I saw his complaint on Facebook also and most agreed he had just pushed too far and that is probably why Princess is no longer responding. Ships are sailing out full and even overbooked now, they don't need to beg for people to give them a like on social media for business.
  2. We signed up for a cruise and our son and daughter-in-law decided to come. They have never been on Princess before. We did the referral thing, giving their info, and they keep getting an error message when they try to respond. I keep getting messages saying they have not responded. Our CVP said he would take care of it but after 3 requests it still has not been done. I know it is only $25 a person but if we are supposed to get it I am a little miffed. Doesn't mean as much for us but the kids they are saving up for this trip and even $50 will be a nice bonus for them.
  3. I'm happy to get specific issues handled by a Princess employee personally, but I cannot research future trips that way. Need to be able to go through various cruises at various times, look at itineraries, available cabins, etc. and the website won't let you do that. It would take hours of both our time trying to plan anything that way. In addition my husband gets some amenities covered by the casino and not being able to access his account to see which cruises are covered has become impossible.
  4. Yeah, we are to the point where we aren't even caring about booking another one - have started searching for land trips instead. If this is what Princess wants, well done! I won't beg them to take my money.
  5. We've been able to ask for just a bowl of gelato vs that hideous candy filled thing on our last 3 cruises and they have counted it as one of our premium desserts.
  6. I find the super early morning is also the ONLY time the website works - yet not completely. I get about 10 minutes or perusing possible new cruises and all of the sudden the dreaded "we are having technical issues" screen comes up. My husband was a project manager for IT of a large utility company for decades and he says there is no way this should be going on for months like it has.
  7. Same thing with us. We had ordered medallions, it said we had not. They suddenly showed up a week before the cruise and it still said we had not ordered them. No problem getting on board once there.
  8. We just got back from an Alaska cruise on the Discovery. Right up to a few days before leaving ours also said "incomplete" and it was because they claimed we had not ordered our medallions. Decided just to deal with it in port. All the sudden the medallions showed up in the mail and while it still said "incomplete" we suddenly went from blue lane to green. Just hang in there.
  9. I just clicked on the chat line again a few minutes ago Didn't expect anything to come of it and it did not. "Charlene" claimed this was the first time the IT Department had been notified of the issue but she would escalate. She offered to help me with any cruises but I need to be able to just peruse all the cruises on the website to narrow things down, not get one specific answer to one specific question. Useless.
  10. We have consistently received that "technical issue" message on all our computers and laptops for probably two months. Have contacted our vacation planner when needed for currently booked cruises and had things resolved but have been unable to research other potential cruises no matter logged in or not and it is very frustrating. It takes days for our planner to call us back so calling him or waiting ages for the chat function to be available is not really the answer.
  11. Hubby plays a lot of Blackjack. They are already covering a specialty. What else have you been able to ask for and receive? Just curious how far one can go.
  12. We did the same thing for our upcoming Alaska cruise. Called in and was told that we could do the cancel and rebook thing but may lose time slot, which is important to us and why we booked early. They said best to just wait till we get on board, have guest services confirm our Premier status and get the refund there. Couldn't say if it would go back to credit card or if OBC, but doesn't matter much to us just so we get it back.
  13. The website has been screwed up for days now. I called our CVP because our son and daughter-in-law decided to go with us on a cruise and we were trying to book the cabin right next to ours before it was gone. He was able to book it for us with the $99 pp deposit even though I couldn't do it online myself.
  14. He reached out to the host last week because we leave later this month and had not heard anything. Glad he did. There are two hosts working together and one was on vacation and hadn't put his info through. They got it all worked out right away. Rides to and from airport and dinner on the ship all good to go. Nice perk.
  15. 6 on Princess so far, had already booked 3 more for this year and next when he got the letter. He does play some higher stakes Blackjack every time. I am Platinum, hoping I get to go to some of the Elite gatherings with him. Agreed it was a very nice surprise!
  16. We received the notice that my husband had been updated to Diamond Status and was invited to the gala/February cruises right about July 4th. He has since received notice that he has been upgraded to Elite status with Princess also. Just got another Hearts cruise offer a couple of days ago.
  17. Wondering how your Diamond experience went on the early June cruise. We got email last week asking if we wanted transport and picking our perk for our August Alaska trip. This was first we heard of being Diamond status. Just got a flyer in the mail today. Already have a January 25 cruise booked so not going to take advantage of their February 25 offer with the gala. You said Diamond perks will be for all cruises through 2/25? Yay for us!
  18. "No self respecting spring breaker is headed to Catalina Island or San Francisco" -- you made me laugh out loud.😃
  19. So after much thought we are going to take advantage of the reduced casino upgrade price and move up to a suite and avoid the pool/sea walk dilemma. Thanks for all your input and happy cruising everybody.
  20. My husband has a casino offer that we may go ahead and use in a couple of months. Alaska on the Discovery Princess. All that is available in the mini suites, which is what he gets, is M324, M328 and R409. Considered R409 because it has an extended balcony, but then saw it is right under the Sea Walk. The Marina cabins are under the pool area. Has anyone stayed in a cabin under the pool area on an Alaska cruise? Wondering if it would be less noisy than say a Caribbean cruise would be.
  21. Yep. We took advantage of that also. Cancelled our previous package purchase and saved hundreds. That was definitely the best price I have seen.
  22. Hoping you also have the answer to this Wallis. We just earned Platinum after our last cruise and will be sailing again in the fall. Definitely want to book specialty restaurants as soon as they are available to us. I'll do a chat with Princess I guess but no harm in asking - do you know how far out Platinum is able to book?
  23. We got an email from a regular Princess CVP (not an India casino rep) and talked to him about a casino offer we had. He was able to book it - correctly - with all of our perks. Give it a try. He was not from the outsource center and was a pleasure to deal with. I am fed up with the clueless casino reps.
