  1. Oh my goodness, jam.....I am literally laughing out loud at some of your posts and pics already. I don't recall having seen/followed any of your previous reviews, but am already very much looking forward to reading more on this one! Love your style. Have a blast!!
  2. Hahaha ..... I wish, but I like the way you think! Thanks for the laugh 😄🍸 PS....love your dog 😊
  3. Hello Stupot 74... we just had our TA check for us because our son turns 21 on the last night of our cruise this April. She replied earlier this week that he has automatically been assigned the non-alcohol package due to his age (we booked all included as well).
  4. Apologies for duplicate post.....system said it did not post so re-posted (insert eye roll here lol)
  5. Wow!!! That's discouraging to hear!!! I always purchase Premium upgrade for my Grey Goose martinis. On occasion in the past I have been served a martini that was not Grey Goose. Celebrity only ended up wasting several ounces of vodka every time as I would politely note that they "served me something other than Grey Goose by mistake" and re-order the drink initially requested. Like many others on this forum I'm sure, I can tell the difference between the premium and not premium spirits when having a drink without a mixer.

  7. Will be sailing with my DH, my son and my mother on the Silhouette in April. After years of asking my mom if she would like to try a cruise, she finally decided at the age of 83 that she wanted to give it a try lol. She is very excited about it, is young at heart, loves to dance, and I am sure she will have a fantastic time!!! Wishing all fellow CC members a very Happy New Year and a wonderful and healthy 2024! 😃🍾🎉
  8. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Jim 🙂 And as always, thank you so much for once again bringing us all along for another fantastic live review (I'm clearly a little late to the party and it has taken some time to catch up lol). Finally, thank you Jim, for graciously sharing part of your "life history" with your followers earlier in this thread. Like other folks on here, I feel the need to express how incredibly impactful your story was. It was extremely humbling and heartbreaking, yet also heartwarming and courageous! Wishing you and Iain only the best, always!
  9. Happy Anniversary and congrats on your retirements! Looking forward to following along. Have a fabulous time 🙂 (PS love your kitties!)
  10. Thank you for a terrific live blog calicakes! Always enjoy following along with your reviews 🙂
  11. Hi denuzzo. My experiences on these three ships is not exactly very recent, but will offer my thoughts anyways. Personally my favourite of these three is the Silhouette, mainly because she underwent the full refurbishment so IMHO looked great and was totally "refreshed" when we sailed her in Feb of 2020 just before the shutdown. We are booked on the Silly again in April 2024. Love the Lawn Club Grill for dinner! Sailed the Equinox in June of this year and due to the crane accident during her dry dock pre-pandemic she did not undergo the full updating. The public areas were nice; our cabin on Deck 8 was not updated and thus somewhat tired looking with the old red/gold colour scheme. It has been probably close to a decade since I have been on the Reflection so cannot offer any real insight about this ship at all except that I do not think she has been updated yet. Love the "S" class ships. Have a great cruise!
  12. Thank you so much for sharing, Northern Aurora. I found your comments and insights to be very informative and helped answer some questions I actually have about which glaciers to see, the differences between them, etc. for when I book an Alaska cruise (hopefully in the not too distant future!) Much appreciated!!
  13. Excellent! As always, very much looking forward to following your live review. Have a fabulous time and Happy 40th to Jeremy!!!
  14. Following! Have to wait until April 2024 before boarding the Silhouette so very much looking forward to your posts to cruise vicariously through you at this time 😉 Thank you so much for taking us along!! Happy Anniversary!
  15. Lovely cabins/balconies at the aft. Agree with all comments above; the only thing I would add is simply to check for soot/put a towel on the chair before sitting out on the balcony. Of course I discovered this while wearing white capris.... 🙄😂
  16. 100% agree! I thought the exact same thing when saw this picture, hcat and Bernadette. Jim, simply stunning and IMHO one of the best photos (or at least a favourite for me) that I have ever seen you post!!!! Continuing to follow your excellent live report.... it is terrific learning about a new line and thank you so much as always for taking us along!
  17. Sorry to butt in OP, but don't think I have seen an answer thus far to the first question. Craft Social is indeed open to all Baggy178. From experience on our last cruise on Silly.
  18. Thank you so much ladylemondrop for taking the time to do this live review! 🙂 Like several others here, will be following your onboard experiences closely as we will be sailing on the Silhouette in the future also (although not until April 2024 for us). Have a fabulous time!!!!!
  19. Thanks so much Cap_D for starting this thread! Not sure if my experience is the kind of example that you are asking for, but will share anyways..... One of my favourite experiences was on our first X cruise in April of 2012 on the Eclipse. In port until 11:00 p.m. in San Juan and on the lawn they had a musical trio (men in tuxes and the singer in an elegant long gown - very classy) playing smooth jazz under the stars. They had little "candles" (aka tealights with batteries) around the lawn and blankets to lay out on and servers walking around offering wine and cheese. A beautiful and relaxing evening!! And of course have had the pleasure of interacting with so many excellent, hard working, friendly crew members who have enhanced each cruise experience greatly!!
  20. Thank you for sharing MisterMet. Terrific review! We were on Equinox in early June and had a similar experience overall. Think we both were lucky.....we cruised just before they hacked the MDR menu and you sailed after the copious complaints made X basically restore the menu! Thanks again 🙂
  21. Interesting (and good) question! We were on the Equinox in June 2023 (thankfully the sailing directly before they started the new "test" of reduced options in the MDR). Reading the title of your thread made me recall that walking past the Future Cruise Bookings room I thought to myself "wow, no line up to book and only one agent has someone sitting in front of them to book a future cruise." And this was not just once, but seems like every time I walked by there was very little business/bookings happening. When on the Edge maiden voyage, totally opposite....all booking agents had a customer in front of them and several people lined up waiting to book a future cruise (including myself). Same scenario when sailed the Silhouette just before the world shut down. Future Cruise Bookings on Equinox a couple of months ago was like a ghost town in comparison to my last two cruises before that. Who knows, maybe I just didn't happen to walk by when the line-ups were there?
  22. One more thing Mary..... I have seen on these boards that the ability to have the request fulfilled for a chaise lounger on one of these large balconies has been hit or miss. We have always been fortunate in that our room steward has always managed to obtain one for us, but don't want to make it sound like it is an automatic "done deal." Thus we always have a nice tip ready upon delivery 😉 I hope that you have a fabulous first experience on Celebrity! (And an unsolicited suggestion....if you enjoy dancing, try to hit the Silent Disco!) Donna
  23. I did this event on the Equinox in June 2023 and was somewhat disappointed. Maybe my expectations were off.... was hoping to learn a little bit about the wines we were tasting from the various countries but this did not happen except for one station. At our event it was simply go to the "country" station and taste with very little to no description of the wine. In fact one pleasant young man who was very honest (to his credit) simply stated that he was put there to "man the station" and acknowledged he knew nothing about the wine at all. Overall the wines were not exactly high quality IMHO, of course understanding that everyone's taste is different. I would agree with the poster above who recommended waiting for a sale before purchasing.
  24. Great cabin! Quiet despite the fact that is close to the elevators because they have the "sliding doors" into the elevator area (sorry if I am telling you things that you already know!) There is a steward closet just outside of the next door cabin (8228) but we did not have any issue at all with noise from there either. The carpet in this cabin has not been replaced/updated but overall the cabin was certainly in acceptable condition for us. You are likely aware that this is one of the very large balcony cabins on the angle of the hump. We requested a chaise lounge (we are big on spending time on our balcony) which was delivered without issue. We always book this specific cabin! Enjoy your cruise!! Donna
  25. Same ship, same cabin in June of 2023 with my young adult son. The couch was made up with a full length (length of the couch) foam pad and he found it comfortable. Have a great cruise 😊
