    When are you going?

Current entrance fee to just El Morro are $7 per person.

In Jan 2020, they go up to $10 pp.

We've always paid cash (pre hurricanes it was $5pp).

We will be there next week. I know the cost is minimal. We are just those people that pretty much never carry cash so I was just curious.

  2. Can you use a credit card to pay the entrance fee at El Morro? My husband and I are trying to figure out how much cash to bring along with us on our cruise. We do not want to be carrying around more than necessary.

On the magic there are two slides and two different height requirements. So they don't always check unless they are under both.

On our cruise in January on the magic my daughter was under one but over the other and they didn't care which one she went on.

Good to know. I thought both of the bigger slides were 42 inches. Is this not the case? If not, do you remember what the requirement was?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news....but......a kid that was too short was at Schlitterbahn in KC Kansas and was allowed to participate anyway. He was decapitated on one of the raft ride/slides.  The height requirement usually has to do with the way rides are designed. Like not flying over the side on the turns or not staying firmly against the slide itself while going down. Before that accident, I probably would have my let kids go too if I thought it was ok. Definitely second guess now.

That is a very horrific situation. However, from what I read about that incident he actually was the correct height (they had previously had an age restriction but had lifted it before he went down the slide). The slide was the worlds tallest water slide and has since been shut down/demolished. Not saying that I do not recognize that the height requirements are there for a reason but I do feel like the situations are different.

We signed up for Javis' tour in June. It starts at 9AM and they mentioned about St. Kitts time might be different than Ship Time. Would that be true for a June tour and would that mean an 8AM ship time start or 10AM ship time start to equal 9AM St. Kitts local time? Just don't want to miss it. I think our RCI boat gets in to port at 8AM (which I assume is "Ship Time").

    Thanks!

I used this site to figure out if there would be a time difference! https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html?iso=20190601T160000 . Just input the city your ship is departing from and St. Kitts. For our date their will be no difference in ship time and island time.

We enjoyed the resort.... Very nice, friendly people and a beautiful pool with swim up bar. Resort has several restaurants and you could order lunch from a limited menu. This is an all inclusive resort so you fit right in along with the vacationers staying there. 2 slides... One straight into pool and other is a circling slide into pool. Says slides are for 10-15 yr Olds but there is no lifeguard and no enforcement. My 9 yr old Grandson is small as well and had no problems... We also saw younger children going down slide. Short walk to beach and great view of planes landing. We had a relaxing day and would do again. About a 25-30 min cab ride from pier... Cost us $30 with tip

Thanks so much for the feedback! Sounds like something that would be worthwhile for us to do.

I just booked a day pass for April 17th when we visit on Adventure of Seas. I paid $10pp cheaper and $44 for my grandson using a shore excusion site. Supposedly the Resort for a day begins April 2nd. Resort opened the end of February

Can you update us on your experience? I am considering booking this for our cruise coming up in 2 weeks. My son is going to be about an inch to short for the water slides on our cruise ship. Was hoping that the slides at their pools my make up for that. We are planning to go to Maho Beach regardless. Just trying to decide if it is worth doing this resort for a day or if we should just hang out on the beach (would also go to Mullet Bay Beach as well).

We did a day pass in FLL.  It was a great experience and so much better than looking for something to do while you have your luggage.

May I ask where you stayed with your day pass? I currently have a day stay booked at the B Ocean but would love to be somewhere that has a shuttle to the airport instead of having to pay for an uber or taxi.

  9. This will be the only port in which we plan to use a taxi. Does anyone know if children are required to be in a car seat when riding in taxis on St. Maarten (yes I am aware that even if they are not required it is the safest option)? We have a travel booster seat that I am planning on bringing but was just curious how strict they are about their use.

I emailed them 5-6 days ago, still no response, so I guess I will try resending.....

We are looking at the full day tour for our fam, which includes a 14 yo boy and a 4.5 yo boy. For those of you who've done that tour, you think my younger guy can take it?

I had to email twice before I got a response. It typically takes them a few days.

Also, our son is 4.5 as well and they said he would be fine.

  11. We are booked with Javin in May. My only concern about this excursion is the snorkeling with my young son. He has been practicing in a pool but has never snorkeled in open water. Does the water drop off fast or if need be can  me or my husband stay back with him in a more shallow area? If my son doesn't last long snorkeling is there much of a beach at the snorkeling site?
