These were the prices and discounts offered in November.  Price is on total number of days.

This probably sounds dumb but I’ll ask anyway! With the per day prices, does this mean that I could purchase on an at sea day and then not purchase another day pass until the next sea day? Is that correct?

In other words when you purchase do they automatically take this amount per day for the entire cruise? Or does it expire after the day? Unless you order again?

    Thanks so much!

I was on equinox. Got the kids the unlimited package. What is not advertised on cruise planner, or anywhere basically, is that once you are on the ship you can buy an unlimited "surf" package (no streaming) for only $99 one device. From what I understand can still have texting, email, surf the internet for $99. Not sure if there is a loyalty discount or not. I complained about this "hidden" ad on my survey.

I think they want people to purchase the more expensive package. I think this cheaper one is good enough for most of us,unless watching movies!

Oh really!!! They keep that quiet! That would be all I need, just access to use Facebook messenger to keep in contact with family at home! I’d be much happier to pay that price.

I was originally going to purchase everything pre cruise but from what I’ve gathered from this post, I think I’ll just wait until we’re on the ship to purchase!

If the price for two devices is $475 (as stated above), how much is it for just one device?

    Thanks

I just checked my cruise planner account thing and for one device it’s $315 aud for a 7 night cruise. And that’s advertised as already being discounted by 10%.

No, there is an iLounge on all the S-class ships. Lots of people don't travel with devices and need to use the computers there.

My solution to high internet charges is my T-Mobile phone service with international service. Texts and data are free, calls are 25cents a minute and it has worked everywhere except the southernmost tip of Tasmania and Russia. Simply walk off the ship almost anywhere and the phone pings to welcome you to wherever you are. This has saved me a LOT of money. I learned I can actually survive a day or two at sea without wi-fi, knowing I will connect in the next port.

I’ve never heard of t-mobile. Do they have prepaid sims available (I’m in aus)?I’ll be cruising in Alaska, is the service functional there?

  5. Thanks everyone you’ve been helpful.

Even though I’m happy to pay, I find the prices outrageous for 7 days. And I’m not keen on spending my days in port looking for wifi!

I didn’t realise using the same login on multiple devices was possible but I imagine that’s probably the most cost effective option, so we will probably just share as suggested.

  6. I am looking at the unlimited internet package for two devices and the price is something like $475 for two devices.

Are these the only options for internet packages? Do the packages differ when you are in the ship?

And, can you pay for small sessions or per minute rather than unlimited, Or is it the only option? If so what are the rates?

Im only wanting to use it to check in with family back home everyday

    Thankyou

We have taken water and coke, and sometimes snacks like salted peanuts.

it would be easiest in my opinion to hand carry the snacks, the screeners will look at them, but if sealed you should not have a problem.

There are two ways to handle the drinks, I would not carry them on just for logistics. You have to carry it until your cabin is ready.

    1.  Just slap a luggage tag on the case of water, check it at the pier, and have it delivered to your cabin with your luggage. I worry a bit about the handling and if it all separated in this method, but it’s very popular and common.

    2. My usual method is to put the drinks in a carry on case and check it at the pier, it just makes handling it easier. When we dont have a carry on available, I find one at a garage sale or goodwill store for 2-3$ and discard it later.

It is possible you could get called to the naughty room to open it for inspection but it hasn’t happened to us yet, and it won’t matter if it does.

one last point, you can bring two bottles of wine PER STATEROOM if you so desire, carry those on, not in checked luggage.

Thank you. Hopefully we’re still able to do that next year. Do you know what free drinks are available at the buffet etc?

  8. We’ll be travelling onboard the eclipse next September.

Are we allowed to bring our own snacks onboard the ship (they would be sealed boxes/ packaging)? If so, can they be packed in our luggage or do they need to be carried on?

Are you allowed to bring any non alcoholic drinks like juice or soft drink?
