  1. Since there are so many experienced and knowledgeable Alaskan cruisers here, I am hoping some of you will give your excursion recommendations based on personal experience. I am overwhelmed by all of the options at each port! My husband and I would enjoy something that includes wildlife viewings, glaciers or other must-see sights. We will be there end of July and stopping at the following ports: -Ketchikan -Juneau -Icy Straight (Hoonah) -Victoria BC Not looking for recommendations on the really expensive items (ex. private bear viewing for $3700), let's say excursions that are less than $500 per person. Also, any tips in terms of booking would be hugely helpful (online in advance of the trip, on the ship, once we step off the ship at the port).Thank you!
  2. I know this has been asked in previous threads/years, but looking for fresh opinions on cruising Inside Passage Alaska in a balcony room on port or starboard side of the ship? Roundtrip from Seattle in July 2019 9 (on Joy). It sounds like port side will have better morning sun when going northbound and also ideal when going southbound to still see the islands and not open water. I've also seen comments from Google that starboard is better as it provides more wildlife views when going northbound since it faces the mainland vs. the islands? This may be my one and only time cruising to Alaska and I want to make the right choice. I will spend a quite a bit of time on upper decks too, but for the times I want to relax on my balcony in the morning and randomly throughout the day... TIA!
  3. Hi- Planning my first Alaskan cruise on NCL Joy- I have a balcony on deck 10 reserved midship near the stairs/elevator, but curious if deck 9 midship (but towards the back) which is halfway between elevator banks would be better? Pros/cons or is there not much difference between floors? Thanks!
