  1. yeah, the lobster rolls are a little light on the lobster.
  2. I got this offer too, rooms went pretty quick though. I usually dont get any casino offers, these days, since I am not a high roller, and ships are sailing at capacity. So I can only assume I got this offer as I have sailed out of Baltimore before and I Iive in Virginia. So I assume they mined the data base to target the offers. I am curious as to where everyone else, who got this offer, lives.
  3. Saw a bunch of threads asking/speculating when the Baltimore cruises will resume, but thought this should be its own topic, unrelated to a specific cruise. Based on the snippet from this article, probably much longer than you think. Cruise traffic was never going to be a priority for the Port of Baltimore. The Unified Command will not be vacating the cruise terminal as soon as the main channel reopens. They will probably be there for some time, since they have turned the Cruise terminal into a command center. My guess would be that the earliest the Unified Command would be shut down would be after the main channel is fully open, which means moving the Dali, as well. Murky Water, Twisted Steel: Inside the Operation to Clear the Key Bridge Wreckage - USNI News "The furious activity inside the cruise terminal at the Port of Baltimore on Monday was far from normal. Though the area often sees cruises throughout the week, where throughout the week passengers walk through the doors toward their cruise ship or come back through Customs and Border Protection. Cruises are halted and the terminal’s lobby has been transformed into a command post for the Joint Information Center under the unified command, set up by the Coast Guard, to tackle the wreckage of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.. The lobby where passengers would typically check in was filled with tables where people in red vests sat. In rooms farther back, one cubicle was set up for the Coast Guard, another for the Navy. Paper signs labeled JIC adorn the temporary walls of the cubicles."
  4. Sailed the Pride March 2023 to Panama Canal partial transit and changed time zones 2 times (i think). Just sailed the Pride last week and never changed time zones, so we were 2 hours ahead in Belize.
  5. I have never really had an issue with scooters in the hallways. just sailed on the Pride last week and didn't see any scooters in the halls. We rented a scooter in December 2023, as my wife just had ankle surgery, so that was our first time dealing with it. We had an interior room and the scooter pretty much took up most of the floor space. On scooter widths, the standard cabin doors are 21" wide. the "standard" 3-wheel scooter, most people rent, is 20" wide, so tight but doable. The Scoot Around company, that Carnival partners with, also has a newer hybrid wheel chair/scooter that is not as long but has 4 wheels. We were going to get that option because it seemed more portable for taxis in ports and had a tighter turning radius, but the width of it was listed at 21" so the Scooter Round rep said he couldn't guarantee it would fit.
  6. just got back from the Pride on Saturday and have no clue who the Maitr De was.
  7. when checking in the limit you can set is for the total cruise. You can then add to the limit onboard at one of the kiosks. So if you want to do daily limits you would have to add to the limit each day.
  8. Funny you bring up Raphael Lounge. I just got off the Pride on Saturday. I have been on Pride 3 times and other Spirit class ships for about a total of 6 cruises. This was the first time I ever realized the Raphael lounge was there. good find, as my wife isn't a fan of the Alchemy bar, since they don't serve wine.
  9. I just got off the Pride this past weekend. Blackjack was $10 min on 6/5 and $25 min on 3/2. All tables were continuous shufflers. They also raised the minimum on the Lucky Lady side bet from $1 to a new $5/$10 option with a jackpot (not that I play that crap anyways, such a sucker bet). When I cruised last year on the Pride, in March, it was still $5 blackjack minimums. Also, what the hell is up with the epidemic of people staying on a hard 16 against a dealer showing 10? Also had numerous comments, from players, on whether to hit or not depending on what happened the hand before, using a continuous shuffler or what happened to the guys hand to the right of him. And one guy quoting that "the card" said to hit/not hit on a certain hand, and being totally wrong. I had to leave the tables a few times because no one was playing anything close to the basic strategy, and was making by blood pressure rise. Still ended up $100 in the black by the end of the trip, so consider that a win for hours of entertainment with a few extra bucks in my pocket.
  10. I would probably be more worried about just regular old locals getting desperate for food, water, anything, as the country devolves further into chaos, and ransacking the peninsula
  11. Sure it can. I can easily see these things happening in order to pack in more rooms. Not that I want to give them any ideas, since Spirit class are my favorite ships. Sailing on Pride this Sunday. 1. Get rid of the Deck 1 comedy lounge. 2. Cut down the Main theatre from 3 decks to 2 decks like they did on Sunshine. 3. Move Kids Clubs from front of ship on Deck 4 to a higher deck 4. Get rid of 1 of 3 pools. Probably the crown jewel aft pool, bye-bye Serenity with a pool. 5. Expand square footage of upper decks, like 10/11. Like they did on the Fantasy class. and move kids clubs up there or add some other type of pay restaurant. No extra height though. All of this will ruin what the Spirit class brings in terms of desirable traits, since these ships have way more common area per passenger than practically any other ship at sea. But it will increase revenue to the Powers That Be. Afterall if you are going to "Sunshine" a ship there has to be return on investment. You can't just dump in $100M+ to make it look nicer without making it more profitable. Sadly, small ship cruisers will have to take this trade. A slightly more crowded Spirit class over a super crowded XL class.
  12. then by that definition, you shouldn't be leaving any port area in most of the Caribbean islands, because the are all "sketch." I never understood why people are so scared to go out and explore the real parts of the islands. So many great beaches not in the West End and not crowded by tourists.
  13. so why did they lump in the Luminosa with the Spirit class, but not lump in the Venezia/Firenze with the Vista class?
  14. that makes sense. the one not offering it is a 6 day cruise. other is 7 day. learn something new every day.
  15. also weird that for one of my cruises there are no liquor options in the In Room Food/Beverage but on another cruise later in the year the liquor options are there.
  16. thanks, I always forget about the drop down menu in the upper left corner that has all the categories, unlike the Cruise Manager page that only has 8 of the options shown in the red squares.
  17. Cruising in 11 days and was online in the planner to buy the 12 pack of water for the room, but couldn't find it. All i found was a Stay Cool water package that included water bottles and a soft sided cooler, but it was like $54.
  18. they still get plenty of training. I would be more concerned with your fellow passengers. We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise and had a fire alarm in the middle of the night. We woke up and looked out the cabin door and everyone else was just looking around not sure what to do. We got dressed and headed out to our muster station. On the way down the hall a lady was having a complete meltdown and freaking out and screaming. Her traveling party was dragging her out of the room and then carrying her by her arms and legs down the hallway and stairs. Had another group with the mother totally freaking out and practically dragging her daughter (probably 7-9 years old) down the stairs. Then the stair case backed up with people and she started yelling and her daughter was freaking out. Was complete pandemonium all for a false alarm. Just add a little smoke to the hallway and it would have turned into Mad Max. When we got to our station there was only 1 family (2 parent and 2 pre-teens) who were there with their life vests. Everyone else forgot their life vests, even us.
  19. errors do happen. we had a man overboard scare on a recent sailing (turned out to be a false alarm) but the ship had to 100% muster everyone. So, my wife and I went to our Station and scanned our cards and then went to a bar to await them resuming drink service (two hours of no service). Toward the end of the muster they started calling individual names of who hadn't mustered, and my name was called, so I went to the nearest person holding an iPad and scanned again.
  20. well that sucks. Now I cant get my own drinks in the casino, which i usually do since the number and speed of servers have been cut.
  21. I have just did one partial transit on the Pride, but you might not rule that excursion out. My parents have done both and said they are both very different experiences. One you are in a large ship, probably on main deck above the canal walls, squeezing through the locks. The other, you are in a smaller craft and could be crammed into a lock with a larger ship and most definitely be below the lock walls looking up. So both totally different.
  22. Pride casino in march, casino was smoking, but they had non smoking tables. That was a good compromise so i didn't have to sit directly next to the smoker with his cigarette in my face. I can deal with the general smokiness but not the direct smoke in my face. Also since they banned smoking at the bar, the casinos seem overall less smokey, which makes sense.
  23. still the same. we just walk off the boat, grab a cab to take us to the top of the hill to meet our private excursion. costs like $5.
