I did 4 European trips with Gate 1 in the early 2000’s and had great experiences with them (good prices, also). I have only done their independent tours, haven’t tried any of the guided ones. I’m glad to hear they are still good. We’ll go back to Europe someday.

We did a Danube river cruise, with a side trip to Prague, with Gate 1, and it was fantastic! Their prices are good, and service was excellent! I've been browsing their website lately...😉.

Where did you book the Carnival transportation? Was it an excursion that you booked ahead of time?

The Carnival team had a kiosk set up right at the port in Montego Bay.  You paid there, and the shuttle took you to Dr.'s Cave Beach and a little shopping area.  It was convenient! We didn't book ahead of time, but I had read somewhere that this option existed, and I was pleased to see that it was available.

I factored that in as well, BUT that doesn’t explain why they are canceling stops in 2024.

My November cruise with Carnival still has Bimini listed. It's one of few "new" ports for me, as I'm Diamond with Carnival, so I'm really looking forward to it.  I know it's special to you. Do you have any recommendations 🙂?

Ive never seen a bunk in balcony, always couch.

We've had a balcony room with a pull down bed as well as a couch. Our grandkids took those beds. The pull down was over the couch, so it became like bunk beds.

Why the Pride? I've heard that it's probably the best loved ship of the Spirit class ships, but why do people like it better than the others?

I like the decor, the layout, and I've been on it the most! We live within 3 hours of Baltimore, which has been its homeport for the warm seasons for many years.

  6. We had a similar situation in 2019.  We were in the hotel the night before our cruise, and my adult daughter developed flu-like symptoms (chills, aches, fever).  We went to an Urgent Care facility the next morning, and the diagnosis was Influenza B.  We had cruise insurance (through Carnival), so I called my PVP and everything was taken care of. I submitted the Urgent Care report, and we rebooked a cruise for 3 weeks later. The process was exceptionally smooth, since we had the insurance. I will never cruise without it!
