  1. I've been waiting patiently to add you to the list of awesome trip reports I'm currently following. My next cruise is June 10th, on the Horizon. I'm really not sure when I'll have time to pack! 😁
  2. If you carry your own luggage off, you'll likely be off the ship by 8:00. Tell them at guest services that you have an early flight. They make allowances for that. It shouldn't be a problem.
  3. On our Hawaii Journeys cruise, Carnival had a guy doing caricatures.
  4. I really liked the lanai on deck 5, which stretches around both sides of the ship. Cloud 9 spa is particularly nice on Magic, so you may want to consider a spa pass for the week!
  5. I cannot believe the number of stellar trip reports to follow this week and next! So far, Saint Greg, TxTeach79, Eli_6, TravelBluebird, Jamman54, SRQbeachgirl, IntrepidFromDC, BlerkOne, and sid_9169 are on my follow list! People!! I've got a cruise to take in exactly 2 weeks, and I can't get anything done because I've got to read your trip reports! Seriously, is this the best lineup EVER?? Thanks to ALL for your extraordinary efforts!
  6. Ridiculously awesome report, as usual, Sid! Thanks for the entertainment and cruise "enrichment".
  7. Looks like a handpan steel drum. We heard a gentleman playing one when we were in Hawaii.
  8. Fingers and toes crossed that you get luggage delivered today! We're all on the edge of our seats trying to WILL your luggage to Barcelona. B's head okay today? Those sangria headaches can be intense. 😧
  9. I'm excited for your LIVE trip report! I got a chuckle out of your second post (concerning your husband). My husband and I are Diamond with Carnival. He rarely knows where we're going, and leaves all the planning to me! When we go to the Platinum/Diamond party, and they show the video of ships, he asks "which ones have we been on?" 😁
  10. I'm excited to follow along with your LIVE trip report! Safe travels and smooth sailing!
  11. Thanks so much for your trip report! We'll be on the Horizon in less than 3 weeks.😁 I'm sorry to hear about the SAS problems. We've used them in the past, and we've booked them for our cruise in June. I hope we don't have the problems you experienced.
  12. Stellar job, as always, Jamman and Patti! You've kept me entertained while anxiously awaiting our Horizon cruise in 3 weeks!
  13. I'm THRILLED to hear this! We were on the cruise last year where it was a complete mess, and cars were vandalized. We waited on the buses from Cedar Grove for over an hour...just parked outside the port, but not allowed to get off. I was so in hopes that Norfolk would get their act together, and it sounds like they have! We want to be able to cruise from Norfolk again, since we live a few hours away. Thanks for the report.
  14. I so enjoyed your trip report! Sunshine (and Charleston) are favorites of ours.
  15. We cruised to Hawaii on the Miracle in January. While the food wasn't quite as good as it was pre-pandemic, we had some delicious food every night. At lunch, I tend to eat salads and desserts (guilty pleasure reserved for cruises!!). I really think Carnival has upped their game on the lunchtime desserts, particularly the funfetti cake! 😋
  16. The Pride is currently in dry dock, so she should be spruced up when back in service. The Spirit class ships are our favorite, size-wise. We've been on the Pride multiple times, and we've always had enjoyable experiences.
  17. I would answer "yes" to the first four of your questions! While parking at the port may not be the cheapest, it is easy and SO convenient. As far as water is concerned, ordering ahead from Carnival may be the best option, as others have suggested.
  18. Downey Wrinkle Out Spray is a life saver! We always pack the travel size.
  19. Thanks for taking the time to review your trip. We've sailed on the Sunshine, from Charleston, many times, and have always thoroughly enjoyed the ship!
  20. It was a very lovely brunch in January on the Miracle. I think it must depend on the ship and number of Diamond guests.
  21. I'm very much looking forward to your travel report! I'll be living vicariously through your experiences (especially the food porn 🤤).
  22. When we're not cruising, we generally rent a beach house for a week with our extended family. Prices for them literally doubled from last year to this year (Outer Banks, NC). Vacationing is not cheap, but I still find cruises to be the best bang for your buck! Most Carnival ships are sailing at capacity, which is great for shareholders trying to hang on for dear life!! 😁
  23. 32 Carnival cruises and I've never witnessed a fight and have only very recently smelled pot. (I think because so many states have made it legal, people don't want to follow federal laws and Carnival's rules).
