  1. I ate in Jacques last night. The menu is tired, and I have better French restaurants at home. If and when it is gone from Marina, I won't miss it at all. Without boring anyone with the number of days I have sailed on Marina, the stateroom categories, the prices I've paid and other trivialities ad nauseum, I will say that I have never used the tub, but if my wife wants to line dry her undies, it's a good place for that.
  2. Yes, I meant Argentina. Thanks for the incorrect answer, since I just saw a van with a sign that said "Free Shuttle" pull up to the ship. What's the saying? "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt". Sometimes google is not your friend.
  3. Does anyone know if there is a shuttle in Puerto Madryn, Chile? @ORV?
  4. Yes, after the gravel ends and the peat bogs begin it’s quite a roller coaster.
  5. Something was nagging at me when I read this I and finally figured out what it was. There is no cabin 9155 on Marina. How do I know? Because I just walked down the hallway and looked. Now tell us again how awful this cabin that does not exist was.
  6. The tendering was not bad at all. Breezy as you would expect in the Falklands, but the water was just a very light chop.
  7. The Falklands was a penguin paradise. I took a private tour to Volunteer Point. You got up close to them. They were not bother by humans and numerous rangers kept people from making them wary.
  8. They are maintaining the ship beautifully. The crew are constantly and diligently keep the ship in good order
  9. I was addressing this: "The ship itself was not in a good shape. Rust and broken things on deck. Lamplights in GDR didn't work properly." Because facts are stubborn things. I can actually see the conditions in the public areas. These areas look just fine. So no, I'm not going to believe someone I don't know making a claim I can actually observe in real time that is false. That would be ridiculous. It also brings into question the other claims made.
  10. I took the culinary immersion tour yesterday. It was very interesting. I didn't know there was an escalator on the ship.
  11. Thank you. I'm afraid I don't have the answer to your question.
  12. I'm on Marina right now, going from 90 degree heat, down to 31 degrees cold and back up to 90 degrees in a few days, all in temperature controlled comfort. I also have good vision and can see what the ship looks like, so these observations and claims all come down to, for me; Who am I going to believe, them or my lying eyes?
  13. The picture doesn't do it justice. It's like taking a picture while driving on I95 in Rhode Island.
  14. Incorrect, they will work with Android, but there are Android specific variations available from other manufacturers.
  15. I forgot to mention today was (not Sunday) brunch in the Grand Dining room. Some of the folks appeared to have not seen food for weeks, judging by the way they attacked the spread. It was not bad. Tonight is an extra reservation in Polo Grill.
  16. Heading for Elephant Island. If there are no actual elephants to see this will be my last Oceania cruise (sarcasm font needed).
  17. AirTags are the solution. If you can inform the luggage handlers where your bag is and show them a picture of the actual bag(taken before you check it in), they'll find it.
  18. Just finished passing by the biggest iceberg in the world A-24a. The Captain told me we were no more than 400 meters away. It can't all be seen at once.
  19. They have Chai Latte tea bags in every venue that has coffee.
  20. As of 1 hour ago, the machine in the concierge lounge on Marina had espresso, Cappuccino, lattes and Americano both caffeinated and decaf, the snacks were just fine. I suspect this "report" should be taken with a grain of salt.
  21. Looks like we will be taking a ride to visit A-23A, currently the largest iceberg in the world. Tommorow is Elephant Island.
  22. Yesterday was truly amazing. I don't have the bandwidth for sharing pictures beyond this one, but really, pictures can't convey how beautiful this area is.
  23. Nope, they still do it. A couple next to us had a "Happy birthday" song and cake a few days ago.
