  1. Annoyed that the โ€œsweepstakeโ€ competition is only open to Americans!!!
  2. On Grandeur at the moment and Iโ€™m sure they have Lyreโ€™s NA Gin in all bars
  3. Hi Unless anything has changed since our last Regent cruise, you don't need to turn on airplane mode. If you take photos using your iPhone camera it won't be able to geo-tag the photos with a location so you won't know where they are taken. Airplane mode turns off the GPS chip. Turn off Mobile (Settings - Mobile - Mobile Data) so you don't get charged roaming. Then make sure WiFi is on and connect to the ships network. This is how I have done it on our past Regent cruises.
  4. You will love Splendor, we were on it last Jan/Feb. Specialty restaurants are Prime 7 (Steakhouse) Chartreuse (French) and Pacific Rim (Asian) you need reservations for all. All are very good so just depends on whether you like the style of food they offer. The other "specialty" is Sette Mari which is Italian and works on a first come basis, it is one side of La Veranda. The main dining room is Compass Rose and that is also very good.
  5. As kj says a delicious monstrosity!! No one on Explorer or Splendor at the moment that would be keen to ask!! Otherwise will have to wait until January on Grandeur!!
  6. Hi Can anyone confirm if the cheese cart is really back in Chartreuse!! Thanks in advance
  7. Hi I think they are now serving sushi in the club not making it a restaurant. Seabourn website states: "Sushi is available on Seabourn Encore and Seabourn Ovation. Currently there are no plans to open Sushi on Seabourn Venture, Seabourn Pursuit, Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn or Seabourn Quest."
  8. When we were on our Splendor cruise in Jan/Feb I was able to be logged on to my wifeโ€™s iPad and my iPhone at the same time for the duration of the cruise, no logging in or out. We were in an F1. Just try logging in and see what happens
  9. These were on our Superior suite balcony in January this year. Would think the same ship wide. Chairs also recline a bit!!
  10. We requested Gin and Whiskey, only Whiskey in the suite on arrival but spoke to room attendant and the gin appeared that evening. What really impressed me was I requested a specific Pale Ale from a Miami brewery and they got it so top marks to them!!! ๐Ÿ˜
  11. Not on the website but written on the laundry form you fill out that if out before 9am it will be back same day.
  12. But money spent does not guarantee anything!! Just because a person can afford the fare does not mean they will be a nice, well dressed person unfortunately. The money we just spent for our 32 night Splendor cruise did not get us nice passengers for the first 14 days, especially the guy who went on a rant with all kinds of foul language because we had dared to sit on his chaise that he had reserved for 3 hours!! There was no respect for my wife and I!!! I think Covid has made some people very grumpy and rude if things don't go their way. Management also commented on it being the worst cruise for passenger behaviour ever experienced. Luckily the next 2 cruises improved to what you would expect of a Regent cruise. Dress code was still pushed to the limit sometimes though!!
  13. Would you believe I meant to take a photo of this in case my wife asked about it but forgot ๐Ÿคจ But I do have a photo of our suite and had a google and think I have found it. I think it is made by Zadro see link below https://zadroinc.com/en-au/collections/lighted-vanity-mirrors/products/led-round-vanity-mirror-ledsv410 Hope this is it!! ๐Ÿคž
  14. Our recent Splendor cruise I logged on with my email address for my iPhone and I logged my wife on using her email address for her iPad without any problem.
  15. We were on the same cruise as Lew and suffered the worst abuse for daring to claim an empty chaise. It had been held from 7.30am (maybe earlier but that was when we arrived) we settled onto single loungers, after 90 minutes I asked the pool staff if it was ok to take the chaise, which we did. At 10.30am the "owner" arrived and went into an expletive rampage at both my wife and I that we had "stolen" his chaise and that I was a bully and lucky for me he was small otherwise would have taken me on!! You would not believe the language that came out of this guys mouth. I was always taught to respect my elders but this guy blew that out of the park, he was at least 75-80 and just went off. I tried to explain that there was a 30 minute policy and he should see the pool attendants, but he would not listen. After reducing my wife to tears he went off, claimed another 2 loungers and then disappeared. Apparently moaning to anyone that would listen in La Veranda. He then returned and decided to have another go, calling me a bully with yet more "F" words thrown in, this time I videoed him (was too gobsmacked and shocked to get the original rant) I went to see the GM and showed him the video and he apologised and would try and track the passenger down. By this time my wife had decided we were getting off when we got back to Miami the next day (this was the first cruise of 3 b2b) as she did not want to put up with this behaviour for another 2 cruises. Luckily the GM reported back that the offender was getting off in Miami so my wife decided to carry on. The GM was so apologetic but as I told him it was not him that needed to apologise. He also mentioned that that first sector was the worst he had experienced for passenger behaviour. Luckily things did improve and the next 2 sectors were a much better experience. As a footnote to the 30 minute policy the repeat offenders who had their belongings removed and complained loudly to staff and anyone else that they could get to listen were the ones that caused this policy to be bought in in the first place but just did not seem to understand this, I had to constantly bite my tongue as they moaned!!! Another guy thought he was everyones "best mate" and would hold 2 chaise daily for his friends to have at their leisure!! He lost his chaise one day, "but I was only 35 minutes" to which the pool attendant told him it was an hour and 35 minutes. He disappeared for a couple of days and I heard him telling someone he had boycotted the pool deck due to his treatment!! If only these people followed the policy there would be harmony!! We are now reassessing our next 2 Regent cruises as we pay too much money to have a holiday that is not enjoyable due to other selfish people.
  16. I can confirm now that Regent have changed the software on the TV's and supply their own remote control so you can't change the input of the TV. There is access to the inputs sockets but no way to change the input on the set. The next thing to try is taking a Samsung remote and seeing if that works but I'm not due on Grandeur until next January, but I will try then. Film content supplied was OK not a huge library, TV shows were abysmal only 7 TV shows and some with only a random few episodes so no binge watching!!
  17. Last cruise we did on Explorer there was a Super Bowl night, food and snacks with game shown in theatre.
  18. Just attended it this morning on Splendor!! Amazing ๐Ÿ˜Š
  19. On Explorer back in 2020 I was able to plug a HDMI into the back of the Samsung TV and watch my content off portable hard drive plugged into my MacBook. On Splendor in 2 weeks so will be able to confirm if it works on their TV's
  20. I heard from a Regent Sales person that the rules for cleaning were changed back in June. The contractor that was to be used has not come up to scratch and not been certified by New Zealand, so sounds more to do with NZ than Regent. Having said that I would go in a heartbeat, wonderful country and very friendly people.
  21. TV is in the middle part of this unit, when we were on Odyssey in an ordinary V5 the middle part was open with TV in it. TV had just been replaced after dry dock in 2019 so you might find the doors are not there now. It is on a swivel base so can be moved to watch in bed. David We know that now and learnt the hard way but it was our first cruise with Seabourn!!
  22. Probably shouldn't have said "awful", we were talked into a GTY suite by Seabourn here in Australia with the dream of getting something good but we didn't. Allocated a V1 at the very front of ship with metal balcony so I complained and we got offered the accessible suite. David
  23. Hi lux4me We did a Caribbean cruise back in 2017 on Odyssey and were in suite 619 which is an accessible suite. We had been allocated an awful guarantee suite and were offered this instead. Had no problem with it. The pictures were taken by me, unfortunately I did not take one of the bathroom. The bathroom had no tub and a flat floor to the shower with handles and a seat. There is no walk in robe, picture 3 shows robe with sliding doors opposite the bed, this allows wider access around the bed. The layout pictures are from Seabourn's website Hope this helps David Accessible Suite Layout V5 Suite Layout
