  1. Are you still looking for feedback on Alaska Galore for whale watching in Juneau? We used them and thought they were great. I can give more info. We used the Toursaver coupon. We just returned yesterday, and I still have the Toursaver book if anyone is interested.
  2. Actually they sell a large selection of beer and wine at one of the Giant grocery stores in Silver Spring, MD, but that is certainly the exception to the rule. It is much more prevalent in VA.
  3. Maybe it varies ship by ship, but with NCL you can't bring on any alcohol from the ports.
  4. I am glad to know SailAway and Guarantee are not the same. How do you book a Guarantee?
  5. Thank you for the video, kjquilts! It is pretty amazing to see the ship and room from the outside.
  6. Hi, I was assigned a balcony on the Jewel for an upcoming cruise. Our cabin is not listed on the NCL cabin topic so is there a way to find out if our view is obstructed? Thanks!
  7. Thank you! It looks like no additional power strip is needed for us.
  8. Hi, I am trying to figure out if I should take a power strip (no surge protector, right) for our cruise. I heard there are USB ports by the lamps and at the desk. And maybe an European plug (I do have an adapter I could bring.) I think we just need to charge our phones and a camera.
  9. Hi, we stayed in a cute apartment. I will put the link on and hope it works: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/8758666?source_impression_id=p3_1560895852_6hVDeXp0LfBS8Gyk This apartment is called Little Star "perfect location" as the title. It was very clean. The bathroom and kitchen were small and a little old but fine. You can see the price is really great. The owner, a lovely woman, lives in the apartment upstairs if you need anything. The apartment is above a bar and street where there is intense partying on weekend nights. This did not bother us because we were on the 6th floor, but I wanted to mention it. You are within walking distance of many sites and also the metro to go to Parliament or the baths.
  10. We stayed at an Airbnb apartment that was walking distance from where the cruise ships dock. AirBNBs are incredibly inexpensive in Budapest, and it can be nice to have a kitchen.
  11. We did this cruise on the Monarch Empress, and it was fantastic! You will have such a wonderful time on this ship and at the ports. With a short time in Budapest, there is still much to see. The House of Terror was an unexpected experience for me since I learned so much of how Budapest was terrorized by the Nazis and the Communists. But I think I would recommend going to the thermal baths since that is such a special Budapest experience. The one right across the bridge from where you will be, St. Gellert, is very beautiful although you can take the train out to the Szechenyi Baths which has more indoor and outdoor pools.
