  1. I was told by Miami Airport employees that each airline at the airport has their own rules about how early you can check bags before your flight. We were flying American Airlines. The AA rep told us that they would accept bags up to 9 hours before a flight. We checked them as you normally would via the kiosks in front of the AA check in counter. I also learned that the Miami Airport has a baggage hold service. I think it’s on the 3rd floor. They charge by baggage size but I don’t know their hours of operation. We didn’t have to pursue this option when we found out we could just check the bags with the airline.
  2. We had a similar situation just a few months ago in Miami. We took the bus to the Miami Airport with almost 9 hours to kill before our flight. American let us check our bags 9 hours before our flight. Without bags we took off to run our own excursion on the light rail system. Go upstairs to the free People Mover, which will take you to the Metro Rail station. An all day pass is $5 so you can get on and off as much as you want. We headed south - getting off in the downtown area, at Coconut Grove and a couple other stops. We spent enough time to kill 6 hours before heading back to the Miami airport for our flight and had a great time doing it. Just a suggestion ….
  3. A very dear friend is watching my house while we are on a Caribbean cruise this month. I want to bring her back a couple of cartons of cigarettes as one of her gifts for house sitting. My question is where is the best place to buy them - on board the NCL Sky in a duty free shop or in the Dominican Republic, St Thomas, St Johns or St Maarten? I’m not sure if these ports have duty free shops that are easily accessible from the NCL cruise port or not. It’s been 4 years since I’ve cruised (thanks to Covid) so I’m not even sure if cigarettes are a great deal on the ship or in a Caribbean port anymore. Any help from recent cruisers would definitely be appreciated.
  4. Who do we see about buying the soda package, just for my husband, once we are on board? Doing the math it makes more sense to buy a soda package for one person vs buying 3 to 4 cans of soda per day.
  5. My husband and I are booked on the NCL Sky for June 18th - 9 days. Even though we’ve been on 15+ NCL cruises we’ve never purchased the soft drink package. Mainly because my husband drinks soda and I don’t. Thanks to Covid we haven’t sailed in more than 3 years (our 2022 cruise was cancelled by NCL). I know that in 2020 it cost about $4 to buy a can of Coke/Pepsi at the bar. With our soaring inflation, does anyone know what it costs now?
