We are considering a barge cruise in France and would like to hear from cruisers who have done one. Especially, how do they compare to river cruises, such as Viking. And, is there enough to do ,see, explore with the slower pace of the barge. Thank, Mary

We are considering a barge cruise instead of our usual Viking River cruise. Any comments or recommendations from those who have done both. We are worried there is not enough to do on the barge. We like down time but also like activities, groups, etc. Thanks, Mary
