does anyone have a picture of the bar/wine menu on the coastal express? I know it’s expensive but I’m thinking of maybe a glass of wine with dinner so trying to look at budgeting for this.

I’m going on the coastal journey in January. Also a coffee junkie. For those that have been how much roughly were coffees in ports from the coffee shops? Trying to plan a bit of a budget. glad to hear the coffee onboard seems great!

Mediterranean cruises do charge some tax, we in the uk, or out of ports further north don't at this time. If you don't leave the med you get charged tax, i'm hopeful my cruise on sun avoids taxes as we land in gibraltar 🙂 Its not just EU, its just certain waters apparently.

i actually dont mind small cabins, as i only sleep and shower in them... i usually book a studio on a bigger ship. I'm on the sun in 3 weeks and can't wait! Has anyone done the lisbon cruise, just wondering how check in and boarding went for the check in time??

when dining i order a bottle of proper champagne from the premium plus wine list and only order veuve by the glass at the bars, never had an issue except on the pool bars.

i'm going end of january if you can wait till then. The suns current itinerary seems awfully quiet! When was sun last in dry dock? i wasn't aware it was recently refurbed. i booked entirely on price as they cancelled asia and the reposition to europe was stupidly cheap.

I didn’t like the look of the ones I found. As I travel solo I’m just extra picky. I generally use hotels. But I have found some apartments that look like they fit the bill and actually cheaper than yours was.

I’ve actually booked emporium Lisbon suites for now, it’s next to the marina next to the cruise port and has a river view. I imagine the walk along the river is flat! 😉

Unfortunately there isn’t anyone else on our roll call yet. (It was the rerouted Asia cruises so the only chat is about those and nothing recent) no Facebook group either. I think ncl normally use jardim do tabaco so I’m going to plan around that for now.. The port does release the expected terminals but it doesn’t go as far as January yet, they are using jardim in November so it does seem likely to be that one. 🙂

That’s really helpful. The only thing I know about the port is ncl says it’s port of Lisbon - so non specific! I’m sure the edocs will be more specific. If needed I’ll get a taxi to port, I just normally walk everywhere. I do have wheeled luggage.

I’m booked on Norwegian sun in January - but I’m struggling with choosing hotel. does anyone have any suggestions? Im debating staying city centre whereas I normally stay close to port and just walk to port. I’ve a 2 night pre cruise stay.

It seems to be the ports offering the free tests ncl ask you to pre register a time slot before the cruise, the ports not needing tests you don’t get this option. Ncl have said to me Southampton doesn’t have complimentary testing for example.
