  1. Thank you everyone for your detail filled replies. Will need to look at all our options including the Hop on/off in Naples. Husband will be 6 months postoperatively, so will depend on how he is doing. He's usually a fast healer, but you just never know!
  2. Thank you Eurocruiser for your detailed information. Hlitner: thank you for your info as well. I am probably more interested in training it from Naples to Sorrento simply from the fact that the trains run more frequently. Would you know how far is the train station from getting off the cruise ship. My hubby will be 6 months recovering from a knee replacement. May
  3. Anybody used this ferry. Do you have to book and does it leave from The same cruise ship port in Naples.
  4. I agree wth the previous poster. Pretty smart marketing on behalf of Princess. At the end of the day, they are still getting more money out of you. You need to figure out if you really need these add ons. For us to add on drinks and wifi it would be almost $1,000 CAD for our 2 week cruise. I would rather spend this money on tours etc.,.
  5. I like to taste the real steak as well, but would ask for some sauce on the side too. You should eat your food whichever way YOU like it.
  6. Does anyone know if you can apply your OBC to pay the per diem pp charge for this?
  7. CAn you use your OBC to pay for part of this promotion.
  8. We already have gratuities and would only need (?) PBP and wifi, but don't actually know if we would actually use both of these enough? It is still $700 more for a 2 week cruise, and even more for us, as we are Canadian. It's quite the marketing ploy though.
  9. I sure hope so. I'll believe it when I see it.
  10. My point was that if the base price of the cruise has gone up on the 11th of December compared to what I paid when I booked a few months ago, then it MAY not be a deal anymore, even at $25 PP a day for PBP and free wifi. I was also agreeing With another poster who found it complicated. It is!!!
  11. Haha. No, it's not just you. My. Head is ringing with working out all the different connotations of this so-called deal. What I did was base it on what it would cost at roughly 5 drinks a day each if you were paying across the counter for say a 14 day cruise. At approx $10 a drink this would come to $700 pp. so if you are each taking this new deal of free PBP and free wifi, this sounds like a good deal to me at $25 a day PP. of course it depends on what the base price of the cruise is as well. What happened to just booking your cruise and sitting back and waiting to embark. So simple.........
  12. Do you still have to pay the tips up front for the PBP. I'm not sure if it is worth it for us. Depends on how much you like to drink, I suppose!
  13. It said full gratuities paid on your behalf.
  14. I agree. It's a great way to travel. Our changeover from one leg of a cruise to another was a piece of cake.
  15. My husband and zI did a B to B in SE Asia and we just got off the ship (escorted) and taken to a holding area right there on the dock. After about 10 or 15 minutes we were taken back on the ship again, after they checked passports etc.,. Obviously, it depends which port/country you are in, as to how they organize this. I think the onus is on you to ask for details on this , if your partner needs any sort of assistance. My hubby may need assistance next year after knee surgery and you can bet your bottom dollar I will be preempting as much as I possibly can, in order for us to have a safe and happy cruise.
