Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Yes, but I don’t go to the buffet unless I have to. I find the food is either cold or dried up and I like to sit down and be served!
  2. Yes, he can manage a few stairs and make his way inside holding onto the backs of chairs. His scooter does fold down and breaks into 2 parts and is also airline approved. This is a New England & Maritime cruise and I suppose it also depends on the terrain at these ports. thank you for your help!
  3. Are there tours offered/allowed for disabled passengers. My hubby uses a small, collapsible travel scooter?
  4. We were on the Crown last September and we loved the food and entertainment. The desserts were particularly good - too good, if the truth be known! lol.
  5. We sailed on the Crown from Vancouver to Alaska last September/October. We were very pleased with both the food and entertainment. The weather was dismal at that time, but the food and entertainment were both very good! She is an older/smaller ship, but as husband is disabled, this made it less tiring for him. One of our best cruises ever!
  6. I heard back from my Princess Planner that we are definitely booked, and that when you book an excursion and PAY for it, it is no longer in your cart! This makes sense now. It’s just like goin to the supermarket, you buy your goods and then it is no longer in your cart! Our Planner, Terry Hobson, is the best. All is well!
  7. We are due to board the Crown in a few days time and because I was late booking I could only book 1 excursion in Skagway on the train. Went into excursions this morning and my booking has disappeared. Has this happened to anybody else?
  8. Is it still possible to just walk in to dinner in the evening. We don’t really want to be stuck in one time slot, which would depen on how our day has gone. I understand we might have to wait, but would take our chances!
  9. Thank you all for your help re: my concerns with embarking at Vancouver with my hubby who is disabled. Thanks to your posts, we are now a bit more knowledgeable than before. We are a couple who have cruised lots (don’t know how many) and we, I believe, have enjoyed all of them and intend to carry on cruising, and believe we can do it with a bit more thought, planning and equipment! Thank you also for whoever posted the 50% discount list. I didn’t know there was such a thing.
  10. I absolutely know this. His power chair collapses and turns sideways and will fit through the door. I made a point of buying a TRAVEL chair!
  11. Thank you! I have been worried about this. He has travelled with his walker in the past, but now needs the chair. We are going to Alaska on the Crown in a few weeks’ time.
  12. My hubby is hoping to bring his power wheelchair. Our son will be dropping us off at the ship in Vancouver ( where we live). Can we get right into the dock for easier drop off for my hubby. Do they make any allowances for the disabled.
