  1. Thanks for all the info, I will be headed to Vegas next weekend and I will check with Caesars to see if I'm missing out on any NCL comps
  2. That's what I've been noticing on the ships lately in regards to the blackjack tables, kinda sucks but we will see how they play out come May
  3. Wow thanks for the great info! I will definitely have to give them a call after we get back. Just out of curiosity, you by all means don not have to answer but what does your typical play on the ship look like? I play mostly blackjack and roulette with the occasional 3 card poker table thrown in the mix I'd say average bet of $10-25 a hand, sometimes we play the $1 and $5 slots. nothing too crazy by any means but just enough to stay on the radar.
  4. Hello again, first time NCL cruiser here and I was browsing the forums and came across a thread about being booked under Casino at Sea promotions and how they have a welcome gift and such in their cabin along with a dedicated check in line for CAS guests. We go to Vegas quite often and stay at either MGM or Caesars properties thus putting me at Diamond level with CET/Total Rewards. Now when we first booked the cruise I went thru the website and then called NCL who then transfered me to was I can assume was the Casino at Sea department to have them add my Diamond discount to our booking. My eDocs show this, see picture below. I'm unfamiliar with the relationship between CET/Total Rewards and NCL, where can I find out what perks if any I will receive and what check in line to use at the pier? How many here can chime in with some info regarding this process TIA
  5. I see, good to know. Question, how would I be able to see the price of a cabin even though it say sold out on the website? Do I have to call and ask about upgrading?
  6. I know that's why I'm leaning towards waiting it out and see if they drop the Min bids a bit, the spa suites and owners suite have been sold out on the website for awhile now. This is our first time on NCL and our first experience with the upgrade bidding system, so that's why I wanted to get some opinions from you all on how the prices seemed and what my best option would be
  7. Hey guys so we are currently booked in a Spa Mini Suite for our upcoming Alaska cruise in May and I just got our upgrade bid email and wanted to see what you guys think. The only one that catches my eye is the Spa Suite since we wont loose access to the Thermal Suite. The other thing is we have 2 others in out group and they are only 3 doors down from us in the same Spa Mini Suite, if we bid to move and so do they there's a chance we won't be close anymore, not a huge deal but we have a pretty good location now... Help me decide
  8. It is a nice area to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Lido areas, once you stay in any of those areas its hard to not stay in there each cruise
  9. NCL has the Haven area RCL has their Royal Suite Class, not sure if it has a dedicated pool area like the Haven or Havana areas. Princess has Club Class along with the sanctuary area at the front of select ships. Most every cruise line will have something similar
  10. On our last cruise when they came by to introduce himself he asked us if preferred morning or afternoon service, for the most part all of our cruises they do that
  11. Bring a stack of $1 bills to tip with, I always tip at least $1 per drink to the bartender that I like, after the first day I can walk up and he or she will come straight to me and get my drink going, helps out a lot if there is a big crowd around the bar. If you tip on your S&S card its not always a guarantee that the person helping you will end up with the full amount tipped. Well that's what the last bartender told me at the casino and alchemy bar on the Inspiration.
  12. we hit the 15 almost every trip, as others have said once you hit 10 the number shows up on your receipt then usually the bartender will say hey you have X amount left and then on your 14th they will say you have one more. From our experience we have always been able to purchase drinks between the 14th and 15th, Although I always hit 15 my wife may get to 10 or 12 so she will give me her extras too and depending on the how well you know the bartender we've been able to buy more or even gotten free drinks past our 15th as long as you are not completely drunk.
  13. ours came from Singapore as well, they got stuck in customs for about 2 days waiting for the shipment to get cleared
  14. I was told medallions ship 22 days prior to sail date, ours shipped on 11/11 for a 11/30 sailing on the Royal
  15. we have found its worth having on any cruise, sure its limited to 15 per day but that's easy to hit if you start drinking in the morning and pace throughout the day. The last cruise we went on, if I didn't have the drink package which cost me only $225 for the 4 days my bar tab at the end of the trip would have been over $800 for the trip. On our 7 day RCL trip we paid about $400 for the week and it was unlimited, my friend was drinking double fireballs pretty much all week and if he would have paid sticker price for those he would have had a tab of over $2000 by the end of the trip. It all boils down to how much you like to drink and if you will spend more than the cost of the drink package on drinks per day
  16. We got the exact up sell offer back in October not worth it all to move from our deluxe balcony to the mini, plus the tub showers are the worst. Its a 5 day sailing
  17. Good to know, the last ship we were on was carnivals inspiration and the TV was terrible, well from what she told me anyways. looks like I wont have to worry about anything then, thanks for the quick responses
  18. This is our first time on Princess and we will be on the Royal next weekend, and it got me thinking, the TV/movie selection while on board is usually slim and often lots of repeats, not a problem for me as I spend little time watching it but my girlfriend likes to watch it at night or while getting ready for the day, is there way to stream/Air Play movies that are downloaded to my iPad to the TV in our cabin?
  19. I would move from a interior to a balcony for $39pp in a heartbeat, and welcome maybe we will see you around the ship
  20. Back in October we revived a up-sell offer for out 5 day on the Royal to go from our Deluxe Balcony to a Mini Suite for $139pp not worth it to me at the time but after seeing some of these other offers maybe $139pp wasn't so bad, but from what I can remember at the time of booking a mini suite was only maybe 100-150 more than the deluxe balcony
  21. Can any one confirm this? I originally booked on the website before I found about the relationship between Total Rewards and NCL, I am Diamond with total reward/Caesars entertainment, so I called and they changed my booking to be booked thru the casino and under my diamond card which saved me the 20% off my cruise fare. If that allows us priority boarding I might try and cancel my priority access pass
  22. We paid $74.95 for the 4 device package for 5 days on the Royal it was $44.95 for the one device package
  23. Nice well hope everyone enjoys their cruises and hopefully the priority access turns out to be worth it, we look forward to your reviews when you return
  24. We went back and forth about booking a balcony or mini suite for our Alaska cruise on the Bliss and after many YouTube video reviews and general searching we settled on the Spa Mini suite for two reasons, the larger bathroom with the dual sink and shower jets seemed nice and at the time the price difference between a mid ship balcony room and a mid ship mini suite was less than $300, granted we ending up getting the spa one so we could have the access to the thermal suite. Way worth it to us just to have the extra 40 sq ft of cabin, and the balcony is even 10 sq ft bigger according to the website. They list the mid ship balcony at 207 sq ft for the cabin and 32 sq ft for the balcony and the mini suite at 249 sq ft and 42 sq ft respectively. Unfortunately the only downside to the mini suite is that it shouldn't be called a suite, because it comes with ZERO of the normal perks you get when booking a suite, so the name can be misleading. here's a good review of the bliss cabin to further help your decision
