Has anyone had problems with the Stock Perks app?
Grego replied to Hobbes67's topic in Princess Cruises
Nope. All my recent requests were answered and processed within two days with one was done the same day. -
Great to hear you have more to the list. Just maybe there will be some positive things to report this time.

3-2-1 blast off - live! A newbie and a vet sail the Caribbean Princess
Grego replied to kjbacon's topic in Princess Cruises
13 days and a wake up for our next voyage on the Caribbean Princess. Really looking forward to our first embarkation out of Port Canaveral and being on one of our favorite ships. I see that the decoration company has been hard at work making the ship a Christmas Holiday showcase. Christmas is always a special time on this ship and it begins with the carolers greeting us in the Piazza when we board the ship. No excursions are planned although we will try to be waitlisted on one of the trolley tours for grins if possible. -

The situation is that the ship has to do a "regular" muster drill every six months and it is a random choice as to what voyage it is done. There are too many passengers that just turn on the TV and go on to do other things and don't have a clue as to what it the emergency procedure. Then there are those that don't turn on the TV or go to the muster station before departure to have their medallions scanned and the the ship has to track them down to get this done before the ships singles the lines and gets underway. It's too bad there are those that feel that they don't have to follow the rules and this impacts the rest that do. -
Caribbean Princess Arrives at Port Canaveral for new Homeporting
Grego replied to loriva's topic in Princess Cruises
Actually, the Regal Princess was the first ship to be fitted with the Medallion Class RFID technology. The CB has been our home for 13 of our 60 Princess cruises and is one of our favorites. We look forward to being on her for this Christmas and sharing our holiday with some of our crew friends. This new port for Princess is the same distance for us as Port Everglades. We did drive through the port a couple of months ago to get some handle on the layout and I'm sure that it will be an exciting day for us on the 23rd. -
I'm hoping that the Thanksgiving holiday period will be done today and the children will be back in school Monday so our voyage will be less crowded with children. I will let you know.

My first reaction is that they are showing a different class of passenger with a color that is not associated with loyalty.

Always nice to see an objective review of your experience and thanks for doing this. We board her this Saturday for just a 7-day voyage to get acquainted with the new design and celebrate my birthday. We are looking forward to this experience and share what we can with everyone.

The probable reality is that John was given a nice separation package which includes a 90-day time to find his next position. His "innovation" of the medallion was a good idea poorly implemented. The retrofit inclusion of RFID equipment is difficult at best made more difficult with the ship materials and design. Of course, we need to add that the decision of the company to do the app is suspect and still needs more help. The concept of the Sun and Star Princess was made by many and it shows that it was, "by committee" and the members didn't talk enough. If Carnival Corp believes a lot of the issues regarding the roll out of the Sun Princess lays at the foot of JP, then that's why he is taking leave of the company. All this doesn't matter because as much as we didn't like JP we don't know what we are going to see with his replacement. The best solution would have been to ask Jan Swartz and Rai Caluori to return to PCL.

Unfortunately there isn't a promenade deck per se. There is a jogging track on deck 19 that is used by walkers and joggers.

It's not even a keychain any......how about a cheap coaster?
-
Thanks Michele for doing this. For us who are booked on the December 23rd voyage we are looking forward to being on the ship again and with our crew friends Oscar and Duncan.
-
We live on the Treasure Coast and equally excited about having a second port nearby to sail out of. Port Canaveral and Port Everglades are equal distance from our home in Port St Lucie. Our next voyage on the Caribbean Princess is December 23rd and our twelfth on the ship and we look forward to being with Oscar the DRO and Duncan the HGM for this holiday sailing. We are still a big fan of this class ship and enjoy Skywalkers, Crooners and Club Fusion for Happy Hour!

We are booked on the November 30th voyage for seven days. This booking was originally scheduled to be a "dry run" of the ship and it's different layout in preparation for our 21-day Med cruise next year. That voyage we recently cancelled and replaced with a 21-day on the Sky doing the Med and Norwegian areas but, obviously, we kept the November booking to still check out the ship.
-
That would be nice as we have done that experience twice, but I don't see a spot to put it in unless they decide one of the specialty dining options isn't making it.
-
Actually, it still works that way for me. I used that technique many times yesterday as we have five bookings between November and next August.

When you say you are using the web app are you referring to the Princess web site and logging in to the Personalizer and viewing your upcoming bookings under "My Account"? If so, you can connect with that and view your bookings and then tap the button for Manage Booking and view that and when done go back to the top and click on Exit This Booking and click on the next screen which shows the other booking. Is this what you want to do? When you are on the ship the only booking you can view on the app is the current booking you are on and none of the others. To look at the others you need to go the web site and log in and do the process I mention above. I think the reason for only seeing the current booking is that the information for that booking has been downloaded to the ship and there isn't a link to the web site because it isn't connected to the internet but rather the ship's intranet. Confusing but it is what it is.

Star Princess Deck Plan Compared To Sun Princess
Grego replied to BeforeSunsetLemonade's topic in Princess Cruises
There was an article in the Cruise Industry News today announcing changes to the dining, casino and deck 19 areas. Here is the link. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2024/10/changes-slated-for-star-princess-include-casino-new-outdoor-areas/ We read it and our reaction was "big whoop".......... -
Yes, the pictures are very revealing. We are doing a short 7-day on the Sun Princess at the end of November to check it out before we do the 21-day in the Med next year.
-
Yes, I agree it is the same thing.
-
Really? My take is that they are trying to make the best out of a situation they didn't create and showing not all was lost. My best guess is that they will create additional activity venues to fill the space.
