  1. I have seen his posts on Selbourne's Aurora live thread, and also on Mrsgoggin's thread so he's still around. I don't think the posts are 'meaty' enough for our Harry😉, he enjoys a good newsworthy debate😊
  2. You can buy 'real' sausages that are lower in salt. I get some lovely frozen ones in asda. Avril
  3. Another chapter closed but a exciting new one begins. Have a safe journey home bro. Sis
  4. I wondered if they kept some appointments back for such things. Our GPs do phone consultations until 6pm. Pre covid the surgery always had 'emergency appointment slots'. Avril
  5. My daughter had the same problem last week. Phoned at 8am, 34th in the queue and was then told no appointments left for that day. However when she explained that the doctor had said he needed to review her new meds she put her on hold (possibly to check?) then came back with an appointment for that afternoon. Avril
  6. I was actually agreeing with you kalos, that the NHS do well with the resources they have. I know you weren't knocking the NHS and I'm sorry if it came across that you thought I was. Avril
  7. After our one and only urgent requirement for the NHS, I can't praise our hospital high enough. From the speed of the paramedics arrival,10mins, his assessment on arrival at the hospital, treatment and care were amazing. All this at a busy time, 28th Dec and during the doctor's strike. I know the NHS is struggling and many have issues with them but I can only speak as I find. Avril
  8. So pleased for you Josy. You can now look forward to your much needed cruise. I'm sure all the good wishes and crossed 'everythings' helped a little😊 Avril
  9. We have a soulangeana magnolia which is a tree, but prune it back every so often to keep it from becoming too large. There are smaller ones for small gardens or even for pots if you were interested in having one. . Avril
  10. @Josy1953 I hope you get the all clear from your GP today. I'm keeping my everything crossed for you🤞 Avril
  11. It will most likely be slugs Mb. The beautiful Camelia is a lovely reminder of your father. I have 3 surviving rose bushes that dad planted in 1967 and were moved into my garden when he died in 1991 Every spring when they come to life I feel a part of him is still with me. Avril
  12. Wow, that breakfast disappeared pretty sharpish Graham😁 Avril
  13. Our Magnolia is in full flower too and we hae a weeping cherry that has flower buds coming on as well. Seems Spring has sprung early this year. Avril
  14. There are some that are not accesible cabins but very few. We tried to book one in 2022 and were told that they book up very quickly on release. I'd ring them up and ask, it's worth a try. Avril
  15. @grapau27 A Very Happy Birthday to Pauline💐 She shares the day with my lovely sister who is also celebrating today. Avril
  16. Well we don't use salt any longer kalos so I have to do something with it 😁 Avril
  17. I take 25% of what I read in the media with a very large spoonful of salt.😏........ and the remaining 75% with a truck load😉 Avril
  18. Maybe they thought that not publishing any photo this Mother's Day would give the awful gossip mongers more fodder. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. They need to be left alone. Avril
  19. Which only proves that our late Queen was correct with her well known adage. Royal they may be, but they are entitled to their privacy. Avril
  20. @grapau27 I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Sarah's father. I'm sure that the love of both you and Pauline will be a great strength and comfort to her during this sad time. The meal out together last night was a good thing, and the photos were lovely. My deepest condolences to you all. x Avril
  21. I really do wish you luck bro, and hope you have a good day. Your story is interesting and I'm pleased that after all this time everything is finally coming together for you. Regardless of your begining bro, the most important thing is how you have grown and worked hard to become the great guy are today, with your determination and the love of your adoptive family. Sis p.s not THE Davina Mcall?
  22. Hope all goes well for you at the hospital kalos. Who who🦉 Yes you😁 Avril
  23. Thank you Mrs K I'll look for that. I like to keep a couple of tins in for when we fancy a tuna sandwich😊 I buy frozen tuna steaks a lot too. The ones at Asda are really nice, not as good as fresh tuna obviously, but needs must. Two steaks in a pack are £5,but they are on offer at the moment at 3 packs £10 so I always stock up. One steak is 0.26g salt, so that's fine. I think?🤫 I hope😕 Avril
  24. 'Dad, where are the Alps?'🤫 'Ask your Mum, she puts everything away'😁 Now a true Dad and daughter tale.....When the Elvis film 'Loving You' was on at the local cinema, I was about 10 maybe?, I wanted to go but dad said I was too young to go on my own, After much begging and sulking dad took me. I'll never forget the memory of him sitting in that cinema surrounded by screaming, swooning and crying females.🥴 It must have been sheer torture for a man whose favourite singer was Teresa Brewer Avril Thinking back now, Dad also loved listening to Jane Morgan too, 'The day the rains came' was one he played a lot on his old record player
