So since you liked Apex why not try another E class Celebrity ship? I agree with your assessment of what Virgin appears to be.
If you liked Apex for sure do Ascent! She is my favorite ship of th Edge class.

We, a table of 6 have always been able to book the same table, same dining room, same time on all of the Edge class ships.

We were on that same cruise and I wholeheartedly agree there were no Officers visible around the ship.
We didn’t go to any shows which, from what I heard from others, was the only place they saw the Officers.
It didn’t have the feel of any of our other cruises.
We did have a chance to speak to the GRM, Julie and she injured her leg and was hobbling and told to stay off her feet. She was however at the gangway saying Good Bye to guests as we departed.
We had excellent service in the dining rooms. We didn’t get the feeling they were overwhelmed but the bar staff in some bars just seemed like they were not particularly interested in working.
Wow well that stinks we are to sail her in November !

Thanks for the review we sail her in November. Will be out 3rd time on her!

The bathrooms in MC sky suite would be hard to utilize. They have an oversized tub that you would need to get in to access the shower. I think you should get the accessible cabin.

We have eaten in Blu and Luminea. We much prefer Luminea. Everyone has different tastes so I think you need to experience it for yourself.

My Mom used to say if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything.
Unfortunately people would rather complain than say anything nice!

Eden is our favorite for all E class ships. The steakhouse has been hit or miss. Apex and Ascent it was excellent, however on Edge 2 years ago it wasn't that great at all.

I kept telling myself I wouldn't get into this but.....
After 10-15 years of mostly Celebrity we took the family on a RC cruise last month to celebrate
our 65th anniversary. We started out with many RC cruises when younger but found Celebrity to be a bit more upscale but not as pricey as others, and it's suits us just fine. You don't often see shorts (men or women) in the DR but it's definitely not as "dressy" as it used to be. The comparison with RC is totally different. On our Harmony cruise, there were lots of shorts, flip flops, baseball hats (frontward and backward), just more casual, which suits the many families having a wonderful vacation without regard to formalities.
We prefer Celebrity continue to request guests to remove hats, wear shoes (even tennis shoes), and dress up just a little in the DR. Is putting on a pair of pants and a short too much to ask? The buffet is perfect if you're not interested in doing that.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Happy cruising all!
Agree! Will be interesting to see what we experience on our November cruise on Beyond.

At least someone is reading the questions! I agree her answers are sometimes lame. Time will tell if things change or not. I have 4 more cruises booked, if we decide Celebrity isn't something we want to spend our $$ on, we can always move on! We have loved Royal in our younger years, and now have been enjoying Celebrity for many years. After 44 cruises we have definitely seen the changes. Sad....

Never this, but last year on our cruise we celebrated our 30th anniversary on board. We were entering Blu and the Maitre D pulled us aside and told us that the Captain wanted to treat us to dinner in Tuscan that night. Not only did he treat us to dinner, but he and the Hotel Director personally delivered us a cake and we were also given a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries. So nice! Something we will always remember
We have been lucky to do this three times way back when. It was so much fun! Food was excellent!

The bottom line is people will pay it. As long as they fill the cabins the high prices will remain!

All of our ships, including the Edge Series, have standard balconies, and we can have someone contact you to help you find the right stateroom for you for your next voyage. The infinite veranda category is truly loved by some and not enjoyed by others. Given that our guests have a range of stateroom preferences we will have infinite verandas on our next class of ships--we just will not have as many. It will be essential for us to get to the right mix to meet everyone’s preferences, and we will do that.
We love the IVs!

This information should be relayed to all crew as they believe anything less than a 10 is failing and that they will be reprimanded for it. They should also not continually ask for 10’s.
I agree! Some practically beg us to give them a 10!

I am in my 60's and want to try Virgin Voyages just because from what I have been reading it is a totally different experience from what I have experienced on Royal, Celebrity and Princess. It seems more relaxed and informal. There is no MDR and All specialty restaurants are included. The entertainment is more progressive with a Drag Queen performance. It's adults only so the comedians are more colorful. With that said, based on the above statement wanting a refined experience I would recommend Celebrity. I would suggest that you go over the the Virgin Voyage page and decide for yourself.
I agree. We have not done Virgin ourselves mainly because our TA and other friends tried it and didn't like it. It's geared towards a younger crowd we were told, among other things.

Wow what a story, but I am not surprised! I wonder how many other types of drinks have been made with a cheaper liquor. A good way for them to save $$$

I thought you could purchase Spa tratements but could not book them until onboard. Have I been mislead?
Yes you have been. I book spa treatment before boarding .

She sure is taking her time answering the questions! I don't know why they bothered with this whole thing if no one is answering more than just a handful of ??

It will be nice if there are new things on Xcel. We have her booked!

We cruise with 2 other couples. So many times we say "why didn't Celebrity ask us our opinion! We could have told them that idea would sink like a rock!"

When I first became president, I repeatedly heard from guests that they find Celebrity Cruises to be a truly unmatched vacation experience. Time and time again they’ve shared gratitude for the thoughtfulness of our crew, the richness of our onboard entertainment and activities, and the exceptional way we make our guests feel. We worked diligently as a team to encapsulate that “feeling” and I believe we did that with our “Nothing Comes Close” tag line. Celebrity is simply different. We offer the intimate and thoughtful service of smaller ships with the variety and excitement of bigger ones, and deliver experiences you won’t find anywhere else. The key word here is “deliver”. Our amazing crew ensures that our delivery is unmatched time and time again.
I agree your crew is amazing, now can we get the food back to amazing also!

Agreed. Perhaps a choice at check-in as to which you prefer. Not only does the timing not really work for those who dine earlier, forced socialization is not fun for introverts.
Agree we bring our own friends to drink with Lol

At this point, we are not planning to change our drinks benefit to match Royal. The Crown & Anchor Society benefit is more focused on the drinks while we are more focused on the cocktail hour and the experience for members to get together.
The match program gives you the equivalent tier status on our sister brands so you can enjoy the benefits they offer when you sail with them. We have not changed the benefits to be the same across brands. Each program is tailored to the individual brand.
Bummer we find the 5 to 7 timeframe not helpful.

We have done a IV a few times and would do again. Yes the captain can lock them all if needed. We never had a issue.
