    I drive the Chicago area quite often and I think New Orleans (I-10) is worse.

    I have done the complete transit (from Pacific to Caribbean side) and during the crossing we actually were able to walk under the Radiance of the Seas and it was incredible!!! Plus, the Volcano in Costa Rica was pretty awesome.

    I would have to say going all the wat through the canal is amazing!!

    In boarding the Radiance the forward part of the ship is to the left. You actually make a very cool turn in the Mississippi. At least that was on the first two cruises out of NOLA

    I stayed at the Fairfield Inn in LaPlace and it was great. I got there around 5 pm and they had upgraded me to King Suite The only issue I had was driving into the pier, because traffic around the airport was ungodly!!

    Great posts and thanks for all, If you get a chance stop by the SkyBar and tell Epraim and JR that Randy says hello. I was on the first two cruises out of New Orleans

    I should have received my block on this cruise, but when I went to speak with the loyalty ambassador, she was too busy chatting with couples and groups and seemed like she couldn't be bothered by individuals. Each time I was in the "office" lounge she would spend maybe 5 seconds with individuals and maybe five minutes or longer with everyone else. So needless to say, I didn't get it.

    we are on the same cruise, plus we are doing the next one also.

    sellwingri, we are sailing on Radiance for the first two weeks of November and when I return (11-13) I can get back on here and answer your questions.

    what are the options? It's been several years since I last cruised RCCL. BTW- we are diamond plus, if that matters.

    I will be coming from the north. I am figuring I won't have much time for site seeing or anything, so I am heading to the hotel and then the next morning heading to the ship.

    I am looking for a one night stay pre-cruise in the NOLA area. Can anyone tell me about some places to consider? Right now, I am considering Fairfield Inn near LaPlace. THANKS!!!!
