Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. As noted in #91 above, you should be able to email hello@stockperks.com to request assistance.
  2. Hamburg Excursions for our April 2024 cruise include: Bergen-belsen Former Concentration Camp Snapshot Of Hamburg Free Time At Three Sights Medieval Lüneburg Hamburg By Land & Lake Lübeck And Niederegger Hamburg Highlights & Miniature Wonderland
  3. We have only been in outside on D deck near Raffles. good location but unfortunately they have bath with shower over. Looking at Aurora deck plan there is a cabin note symbol referring to Cabins with shower only. Most of the outside cabins appear to be decks 6 and 5 mid fwd/fwd eg. E152/E157. @Mollag you mentioned being in cabin on deck 6 but it had a bath with shower. Which cabin no were you in / did you experience noise from above e.g.from Charlies, Andersons, Theatre? Just wondering if shower only on deck 6 would be OK location for megabear2.
  4. Extract from bottom of email received from Cunard today in the UK.
  5. @Eddie99, thanks for sharing your lovely pics. We've not visited the station in Lisbon but will put on our list to go see on future stop. Don't know if you've ever been to Sao Bento station in Porto: that's a lovely place to visit. You can see pics of all the old tiles on the walls and ceilings online. São Bento Station, Porto
  6. We are in UK and cannot therefore have medallions posted to us at the current time. In the App (using Android), we had been Green and also had Arrival Time selected for our cruise out of Southampton. This morning we had changed to Blue and Arrival Time had disappeared. Now we are back to Green and Arrival Time has reappeared. Princess are obviously still doing updates.
  7. Try logging into the WebVersion of the MedallionClass app and checking your dining reservation there under the specific date you've booked for. Some time ago our Crown Grill reservation didn't show on android app but, it did show in the Web Version. It did eventually show on our android app too.
  8. Setting up your camera / phone as best as you can Daily programme on day after embarkation noted 4 days until the Northern lights Learn how to photograph the breathtaking beauty of the Northern lights. Small group sessions are available. Visit Photo gallery today to make your booking. DH booked to attend session and took his camera along. Think it cost about $20 / 25. He later said it was the best $ he'd spent as they helped him set up his camera to give best opportunity to capture lights if they appeared. Without getting that help its unlikely he would have got the pics he did. So, if you aren't sure about setup you may want to ask Photo team when you get onboard if they are offering similar session / can help you.
  9. We were onboard QE March 2022... some comments from Daily Programmes which may help but, remember that things may be different when you are onboard. "Northern Lights Information You will be able to find information regarding statistical likelihood of Northern Lights sighting on channel 45 of your stateroom television. This will be updated every four hours. We will also be making a broadcast during the night, should there be a sighting. You will be able to hear this broadcast on channel 41 of your television. If you are retiring for the evening and do not want to miss any possible sighting we suggest you leave your television on channel 41. We will not be broadcasting this information automatically through staterooms. The only occasion we will disturb you in your stateroom is in the event of an emergency." We had a gentleman onboard, John Maclean FRAS. He was out on deck in the evening 8.00pm until 12.00am providing intermittent commentary under the stars whilst waiting in the hope of seeing Aurora. Tromso - we were there 9.00am with all aboard 1.00am "Complimentary shuttle bus service ...transfer between QE and Fredrick Langnes Street by Radisson Blu Hotel. First bus depart 9.30am... transfer approx 15 mins each way. Last shuttle back from Fredrick Langnes to QE 10.45pm" We went on ship excursion 'In search of Northern Lights' and were disappointed with the location we were taken to, when compared with the location we went to with P&O some years before. We didn't see the lights whilst we were out on trip. It was the next night, whilst on our way from Tromso to Narvik, when we were lucky enough to see some of the Northern Lights. It was about 10.30pm when we noticed some activity. and a while after that an announcement was made. Narvik - there 9.00am with all aboard 1.00am "Complimentary shuttle ..transfer between QE and city centre. First bus 9.30am. Transfer takes approx 15mins each way. Last shuttle back from city centre to QE 8.45pm We went on Ofoten Railway excursion with Cunard: it was very enjoyable. 2 groups. One went on train first and back on coach. We went on coach first and back on train. We had guide on the coach journey up to Bjorkliden. Upon arrival we went into cafe for tea/coffee and pastries (if I recall). We were free to wander outside until our train was due to arrive from Sweden. Note it was slippery underfoot so make sure you wear suitable footwear. Once the train comes into the station you get on and find yourself a seat. There are no reserved seats for Cunard guests. There is no commentary provided on the train. However, our guide walked through the train to answer any questions. Upon arrival back at Narvik station we picked up coach again and were driven through the city and over the bridge so that we could look back at our ship, see the little church (think it's at Nyborg) and part of a wreck which showed above the water.
  10. Sky Princess, currently sailing out of UK, also has Barista station in bakery area of the buffet. Specialty coffees included in plus package. If you don't have package your onboard account will be charged.
  11. Alesund tourist information office may be able to answer for you. Email : Info@visitalesund.com
  12. This package is not showing as option for our Arcadia 2024 cruise, hence why Lisa is not seeing it ffor 2025 either. Maybe it won't be available as an option. It does show 'The Welcome Aboard Package' for £70 or 'Ultimate Celebration Package' for £429. The latter includes robes.
  13. If the weather is good a trip up on the cable car at Andalsnes is definitely worth doing. Lovely views from up top. We were on Sky Princess last week and went for trip on Rauma Railway (you need to book well in advance). Once we got back to port I went up on the cable car 540 NOK return.
  14. Believe they had been experiencing issues with being unable to locate half used bottles the following night and, determined best option at that time was to not keep. It may well be that they have resolved whatever the pitfall was and now reinstated for passengers to leave part used bottles? It did put us off purchasing wine in the MDR as we only tend to drink half each evening. As we normally have a pre-dinner drink we sometimes purchased a bottle of wine in the Glass House, had a glass pre-dinner and then took the rest of the bottle to MDR to enjoy with our dinner. It may well be that procedure they follow will differ from ship to ship at any given time. We aren't due to sail with P&O again until next year so will have to wait and see. Fingers crossed.
  15. We were on Britannia fixed dining 2nd sitting table of 6 in March. We did speak with our waiters and head of dining room to resolve some things we weren't so happy with. We wanted to choose dessert after we'd had mains. We wanted coffee after dessert. Recall making a point of asking waiter and assistant what their names were as they had neglected to introduce themselves. Everything was good after that, except one evening when main was too cold and had to be replaced. It was no problem otherwise. Extra veg available if you asked. Ice cream with dessert if you asked. Don't be afraid to politely ask for whatever you need to help make your experience more memorable and, always say thank you for a good experience. Most of the waiters appreciate building positive vibes with those they are serving and they smile and relax more. One thing that still could not be done was to keep bottle of wine for you for next night. You had to take it with you.
