  1. As shared in the other active thread on the topic of CruiseNext certificates, I've recently used them for the first time and wish I had gotten on board sooner. That said, DD often travels with us solo and will likely also benefit from the CN process. The published marketing materials, terms and conditions, etc. all seem to assume that it is at least two travelers, sharing a cabin, with a $250 deposit due (excluding Haven). Solo travelers only pay a $125 deposit. Does this confuse the CN process in any way? Can a solo traveler still apply two $250 CN deposits (current promo) even though they are only paying for single occupancy (i.e. sometimes without a full single supplement)? I would appreciate hearing what other solo travelers have experienced. Thanks.
  2. I think that they are mutually exclusive. If the cost of the upgraded room is currently more than the existing reservation, than it's a paid upgrade. If it is less, then a paid upgrade is not allowed and it has to be one of these courtesy upgrades, which may be few and far between.
  3. Thank you. This is exactly what I experienced and shared here on the forum, hoping to encourage other modest steerage inside cabin bookers like myself to give it a try despite the posted T&Cs. I don't believe we've seen any reports by somebody attempting to apply two to an inside after Feb 6.
  4. Sorry sister, but I'm a simple rat🐀. I just can't do that stuff to my Guinness. I'll lift a blue moon for a very important salute, but then I'm pure Guinness until I run the tap dry (as I did last May on the Encore). 😎
  5. I guess we got lucky. It was on a Joy ten day New England cruise in October. Surprisingly, the weather was great the entire cruise and I took more than one afternoon "nap" on the aft balcony. That said, just as with regular balconies, this inside steerage rat would never pay full retail for one. The observation lounges, great outdoors, waterfront, etc. all have bars. I was shocked to find that my (usually expensive) aft balcony did not!
  6. It's a really goofy system (when it works). You connect to the ships WiFi and then open a browser like Safari and enter the URL "loginnow.com" It will ask for name and I think birthdate. It used to just be "login.com" but that became hit or miss and rarely worked last week. Logging out can be tricky, so it's best once logged in to leave the "loginnow.com" tab open and open another tab for your actual internet activity. Then, return to the loginnow.com tab and click the red Logout button. All this from memory, so hopefully somebody else will confirm. On my last cruise, the ship WiFi became flaky and didn't log me out so my minutes ran to zero. The next day they had returned a little over an hour of free minutes so no issues. I really only needed about 15 minutes for some time-sensitive personal business. ETA: I believe that their WiFi became overloaded because they failed to display the NFC championship game for most of the first quarter. We were watching post-game rugby instead. An RCL ship was docked next to us and we could see the game on their jumbo tron on the pool deck. How embarrassing is that for NCL?🤣
  7. Thanks. I have a nice window to renew, so I'll target the on-line process. The only cruise in the near term after my renewal request will be a POA, so no need for the passport.
  8. From this thread: From this other thread post #43: DOUBLEUP OFFER! FROM CRUISENEXT Booking Period: Jan 13 - Feb 6, 2023 11:59pm EST Offer Details: Reserve a Balcony Stateroom or higher on any voyage booked at least 4 months in advance with TWO CruiseNext, CruiseNext Haven or CruiseNext Lite deposits So, did they change or not? You can apologize for calling me a liar now. 😎
  9. Recently on the Sky, that hole opened and closed more than once. One day it worked, next day a message that said iMessage was not enabled. Who knows?
  10. Slow down Cowboy. The terms were not accurate on Sunday when I applied two CNs to an existing, inside cabin booking. The terms have not changed, so are likely not accurate now either. Hence, the rhetorical question. If you're not currently applying CNs, why are you so worked up over this?
  11. I asked the rhetorical question in post 11 and you quoted it in post 12.
  12. Thanks for this great thread. I didn't know that US Passports could be renewed on-line. I'm due in less than a year, so hoping this process will be available.
  13. 🐀😎 I've actually acquired a taste for Blue Moon (of course, if Guinness is on board that's all I'll drink unless the Brewhouse is closed).
  14. Thanks. As I mentioned, I was on a ten day cruise and I don't do internet while on vacation. Between cruises? Just a fun filler.... 😎
  15. No, but the post of mine that you quoted contained the rhetorical question. I didn't miss the dates. The T&Cs have remained the same throughout. Why do you think that the T&Cs are accurate now when they weren't a week ago? Do you really think that NCL is 100% accurate all the time on everything they publish???
  16. Just to clarify, the price of the balcony has to come down to no lower that a penny more than what you booked your OV for. If it is the same or lower, you can't upgrade. I was bit by this last fall and had to make the "sacrifice" to upgrade all the way to an aft balcony.😎
  17. There you go again.... Did you miss the part where I said that the T&Cs are exactly the same as when I booked? It was obviously a rhetorical question to help those who are ready to book understand that the T&Cs may not be accurate. You are trying to help your fellow cruisers, right?
  18. We were packed a WHOLE lot tighter during that stupid muster drill than I've ever been in a theater. Add to that the fact that I actually get something in return for taking that "risk" in a theater with good entertainment. I walked away from the muster with nothing other than a few Covid particles/droplets/whatever spreads that crap. I'm not personally worried about Covid exposure because the world is already full of that stuff; but others are really nervous about it and NCL doesn't seem to acknowledge that. As a shareholder, I demand that they focus more on the customer's concerns!!! (okay, that last part was not really serious)
  19. The T&Cs read exactly the same when I used mine. Have you tried to use two on an inside under today's offer?
  20. So would I. I'm just not convinced that this cluster-drill has done anything to ensure my safety.
  21. Despite that, I applied two to an inside a few days ago.
  22. It's not just the waste of time. On the Sky two weeks ago, we were crammed into rows of people, side by side on the deck. Probably close to a hundred people forced to stand for 45 minutes in a very tight formation. Easily the highest risk of Covid exposure during our entire vacation as well as the most unpleasant time.
  23. Most of us don't pay any brokerage costs for buying/selling individual stocks. If you do, than you might want to find a better brokerage. That said, we're talking about sixteen hundred bucks worth of stock right now. I really don't understand why people would be anxious to unload that for something else. Since I plan to keep cruising for the rest of my life, I'll just let it ride.
